  1. Ok...here's an interesting update...just looking at the back of our cashed check..it was cashed in California. Our I-130 was never forwarded to Chicago. I guess that was acurate information that not all I-130's ended up at the Lockbox.

Things are looking up!!!!! Our cheque was cashed yesterday! It's a small crumb we've been tossed, but we are OH SO HAPPY!

YEAAAAAA! Hurray for our side!! LOL .....ok, ok, I'll stop now...hehehe...

  2. Since there hasn't been an update since Friday on the Chicago Lockbox processing dates, we made a call to USCIS today. So, here's the highlights of the latest story....not all of the yet to be recipted I-130's went to Chicago...apparently the backlog at the Service Centers was such a mess, that they were unable to locate/send all the I-130's received over to the Lockbox....they think about half went from Nebraska....and she confirmed that as they have long since lost track of date order, some applicants that filed months after we did could receive their NOA1 long before we do. Very disappointing. Also, in our 2 previous conversations with USCIS, staff have been courteous...not so, today..very unpleasant person on the line.

oh my, just when we had our hopes up that we were close being on the system.....

So...... Anybody have any suggestions on how to find out if you were not one of the I-130's sent to Chicago or not?. Thye are past my date now of 11/16/07 so will wait another week before i expect to see any notice. again any suggestions on how to find out where the heck the application is?

    Bill

None I know of, but there was a post on another thread from someone who filed Oct. 31 and last week (Jan 17) received their NOA1 from California, so it does seem to confirm that not all I-130's waiting to be receipted went to Chicago or are being receipted there. Our date is 11/21/07, so lets keep in touch when either of us see any signs of things happening.

  4. Mike,

Asylee petitions are a very different kettle of fish than family based. Please try to remember the conditions these people are fleeing and then you may see the reason they are 'treated differently'.

My husband is from Northern Ireland, a VWP country. The only difference between our process and yours was the fact he COULD visit. His visa process was identical to yours other than the fact the London consulate moves more quickly than Manila, which has much to do with the fact that more K1 visas are issued by Manila than any other country in the world. Any other hurdles your fiancee may have to jump that my husband did not (CENOMAR, etc.) have to do with the laws of the Philipines itself, and visa fraud percentages from that country. You wouldn't have to prove your relationship was true if there wasn't a pattern of fraud. It's a social pattern from the country and our government would be foolish to turn a blind eye to it.

While it's true there is much unfair about this system, different people usually get treated differently for a reason. Unfortunately.

""PS - I spent a good bit of money on FedEx packages myself. It just costs money to send stuff internationally. Fact of life.

"Our Goverment would be foolish to turn a blind eye".....sweetheart,they do everyday.all you have to do is go down to the border of Mexico and America and watch hundreds run accross the border each and every night ,365 days a year. SOLUTION ? lets make them all legal.....so our wise politicians say !!!!! yes i see how this works. It is like the store owner who tries to save a penny, but can't see how every day he wastes a dollar.

Sweetheart, we're talking about marriage fraud - not campaneros. Try to draw the proper analogies, and try not to be sexist - hmmm?

Who is being sexist?.......marriage fraud......is IMMIGRATION FRAUD.....people trying to come to America illegally RIGHT? except instead of jumping over a fence ,they marry to get here. sorry my friend(is that better)it is the same thing.......and my point was, in case it was too complicated for you.... and i see it is.....the Goverment spends too much time on worrying about the small amount of people coming over here by fraud....and not enough time controlling the border, where hundreds come in illegally EACH and EVERY day. .....SAME THING ... I M M I G R A T I O N.........that is what we are talking about isn't it? Hmmmm?

You're still trying to compare people who are entering legally (but managing to manipulate the system) to those who circumvent the system alltogether.

What your government is trying to do is protect you from yourself. You know, when you get all starry-eyed and can't see the person you love is using you. Would you prefer they did nothing about that?

PS - Please try not to be so condescending.

Well, I think the main reason to be angry or frustrated is because none of these delays have anything to with "doing it the right way", equality, the law or about the security of the country. It is completely about bureaucracy, bungling, lack of forsight and poor administration of the system. That's what every one of us should be upset about....all this was forseeable and avoidable with adequate planning.

  5. California is current on all other forms except i-751 ......... so they should start on i-130 soon

    http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

Yes, I had seen that... Mind you, I understand from these USCIS weekly updates, that all I-130's from California and Vermont have been sent to Chicago for receipting, and we have no information on what might be happening with all those I-130's sitting in Chicago. I was hoping we might see if anything was happening with this new routing.

  6. hello,

My wife and i have filed our i 130 on 21 of nov. also we are being told there a big back log and it is holding us up some. should get it by the first of jan at the latest What i am being told To give it sometime it all we can do  we wait and prey to are God it's all in his hands..

Thanks for your reply! I will post here and let you know when anything happens for us.

Yes, God knows our situation and is totally in control!

  7. I am wanting to know of any real, honest to goodness NOA1's for I-130's are being received. I can't get a sense if this is a complete log jam (i.e. nothing moving at all) or just a very slow trickle (notices arriving albiet, slowly)....It is rather hard to follow on the forum's, so if anyone has actually received one recently (last week or two), it would be nice to know about it, and to know what date you submitted your forms.

    Many thanks!

    Annie & Tim

  8. Hi!

We would like to hear from anyone else who filed in November. Anyone with a NOA1? (ok, so, yes, I am an eternal optomist! lol)..Anyone with a cashed check? We have our postal receipt that says our petition was received in Nebraska on Nov. 21., but of course are assuming it has been transferred to the Chicago Lockbox.

We are currently considering our filing options for our I-129F...file now? (this is what we want to do, but are unsure where our file will ultimately end up for processing with all this chaos!) or wait for our check to be cashed? or wait for an NOA1? ...oh the dilemma...

But would love to hear from anyone else in the "November" boat!

    Annie & Tim

P.S. can anyone tell us how to have our timeline show on the bottom of posts? lol

  9. Hi VJ friends!

We sent our I-130 to Nebraska November 19/7. Our postal receipt says it was received there Nov 21/07. We are not sure if it would have been forwarded to California and then to the Chicago Lockbox or if it was sent directly to Chicago. Either way....no notices, cheque not cashed as of today. We are now reluctant to send our I-129F as we have no idea where our I-130 will ultimately end up.

...this is bureaucracy gone over the edge..pure madness!!!

..but God is good and still in control! God bless and Merry Christmas to you all!

  10. Thanks everyone for your speedy replies!

I think this information confirms our initial plan to file a subsequent I-129F and go for a K-3. It would cost almost $1000 to fly from Vancouver Island to Montreal for an interview, so there goes any cost benefit and we were also aware that a work permit would take several months after getting to the US and will be planning accordingly. There would have to be a huge benefit to living apart from my sweetie one day extra day!!!!

  11. Hi VJ firends!!

We filed our I-130 last month with the original intention of continuing on with the K3 process, but with the current backlog and receipting delays, we are reconsidering this and thinking the IR-1/CR-1 processing might not be a whole lot longer. We noticed that on the statistics here, the only embassy that shows any interviews for the IR-1/CR-1 interviews is Montreal. If we go K3 our interview will be in Vancouver, which appears to schedule interviews in a very timely manner (a month or two) - it appears interview waits are up to 9 months long for IR-1/CR-1 in Montreal. So...bottom line question...do IR-1/CR-1 interviews happen only in Montreal? or does Vancouver do them too?

As always...thanks for any info you can provide!

  12. Hi all!

Can anyone tell us anything about USCIS sending recent (i.e. received since Aug. 30) I-130's "to the Chicago Lockbox for data entry/receipt"? What does this mean? We sent our I-130 to Nebraska, and understanding that it wouldn't be processed there, but forwarded onto California. Does this mean Chicago will be processing or just entering into the system and sending out NOA1's? Is there anyway to get information on how fast things are moving in Chicago?

I also just noticed that the statement about I-130's being forwarded to Chicago was on the USCIS bulletin up until today....that note is now gone...ahhh....always more confusion..

Thanks in advance for any info or insights anyone may have!

  13. Hi all! This is our first (of likely many!) questions/posts to this forum. We would really like to hear from anyone who has sent their I-130 to Nebraska (as per the USCIS I-130 instructions on the form) and HAVE received an NOA1. We have seen many posters saying they haven't received one and have looked at all the Stats pages and can't seem to find specific Nebraska info for the I-130. (I realize the I-130 is usually forwarded to another center.)

Also, hearing that some have not received NOA1's on their I-130 for many, many months (or in a couple of instances, never!), how/when/where are they sending their I-129F? or is everyone just waiting?!?

We appreciate your time to help us out if you can. God Bless!

    Annie & Tim

  14. :help:

Hi All! When my husband and I were completing our applications, in Morocco, I thought I was suppose to send the I-130 to the California Service Center. Then I was reading the USCIS website, and saw that if you live in Colorado, you are suppose to use the Nebraska Service Center. Sooooooooooo.....I sent it to the one in Nebraska. From what I can gather here.....is Vermont and California the ONLY service centers for the I-130?

I received my return receipt back, it was stamped 11/05/07, but I have not received the NOA1.

    Thanks for all your help!

    Yvette and Said

I believe you have sent it correctly to the Nebraska Service Centre. My husband, the US Citizen, lives in WA and we also recently sent our I-130 to Nebraska, as per the instructions on the CURRENT USCIS form I-130 instructions. The instructions for the I-129F for K3, say the I-129F should also be sent there.

We have a return receipt, dated 11/21/07, but no NOA1, either.

We have heard that due to the delay in getting the NOA1's some are sending their I-129F without waiting for the NOA1 - just enclosing copies of their return receipt, I-130 and copy of their check/money order. We are still deciding if we should wait for the NOA1 or try sending the I-129F as suggested.

...so bottom line, I think you have filed correctly.
