  1. Hello. Yes, she put checkmarks for both crimes and administrative offences and also a checkmark for her maiden name to be included. From what I understand, before the new form was agreed between Belarus and USA Embassy in Warsaw, there was no form and different content could go through... Now that they agreed on a new format of the police certificate, everyone has to follow the same rules and format. So information has to be included on 1) crimes, 2) administrative offences and 3) maiden name has to be included in parentheses after your married name. The people in Belarus who are taking requests for these police certificates presumably should know this as well, but you never know... Hope it helps. It was so frustrating for us to find this out when my mom was already in Poland, so I hope this information helps many of you from Belarus to avoid the horror of going back and forth...
  2. I wanted to provide an update on the visa interview my parents had two weeks ago. We had all documents and I had no doubt everything will be ok. My dad received an approval on the spot and my mom was refused a visa due to... A LACK OF MAIDEN NAME ON HER POLICE CERTIFICATE FROM BELARUS. This was so frustrating as nobody ever told us the maiden name had to be included (though it is logical). So if you have a fiancé/mom/sister applying for the US immigrant visa in Warsaw, please ensure the maiden name is covered in the police certificate (again, this information is nowhere to be found, so just include the maiden name!). Otherwise you will get a green slip from the US consular officer and you will have to go back to Belarus to obtain the new certificate. Luckily, you can order such certificate in Belarus within 3 business days, but the travel back and forth is draining as now it takes up to 24 hours to get to Warsaw taking into account all the border controls, plus you have to pay for additional nights at hotels, have to wait a lot, etc... My mom told me there were at least 10 women in line with her with the same issue as she came back to Warsaw, so this seems to be a recurring issue for many Belarusian women applying for the immigrant visa. Another thing to keep in mind - if you are refused and were given a green slip, this is not "Administrative Processing" which may usually take months (and I think you would have received a white slip instead). The difference between a green slip and a white slip is that the green slip means your visa is on hold and US consular officer requires some additional information (so I believe this means your visa is approved pending additional documents), and so my mom had to bring the new police certificate. Your CEAC status will state "Refused" but once you bring the missing document(s), your visa will be approved and my mom's CEAC status quickly changed to "Issued" and she received her passport with visa in the afternoon of next day following her submission of the new certificate. The white slip and status on CEAC "Administrative Processing" means they need to dig deeper in your case and you may be asked to provide more documents and information upon request, and this usually takes months from what I read.. Overall, the interview process in Warsaw was smooth and took only a few minutes. As long as you have all documents in order and uploaded in CEAC, you should be fine. If you have questions, you can always call the Polish or US numbers and there are very nice people working there who will answer all your questions. I hope this information is helpful. If anyone has any additional questions, please let me know.
  3. what did happen to your case in the end? how long did you have to wait after refusal and resubmission of all required additional documents?
  4. Wow, this is too bad. I thought they give passports the next day or at least in 1 business day to those who are coming from outside of Poland... I know someone whose dad received the passport with visa the next day (the interview was 2 weeks ago), hopefully your wife will get the visa tomorrow! Please keep us posted here, my parent is going to be interviewed next week. Quick unrelated question - did you have to provide the original of your AOS form or would the copy suffice that was uploaded to CEAC? Thanks!
  5. Many thanks. This is very helpful. So I assume my parent needs to have originals of birth certificate and my marriage certificate together with translated copies, so I will have to Fedex/Ups those to her prior to interview. Did you/anyone else here send to your parent the AOS (Affidavit of Support) package related documents, including AOS form, IRS tax transcripts and W2? I am trying to understand whether those are needed for parent's interview... Thanks in advance!
  6. Hi everyone, any updates on interviews? From what I hear, people are able to pick up passports the next day after their interview, which is great. Was this the experience of people here? Also, FYI, for those Belarusians who prepare to immigrate. There was a new form of police certificate approved in March 2023 and now it has to contain information about crimes and administrative misdemeanors (rather than just crimes as before), so be aware.
  7. How long does it take now to get a passport with visa after interview at US Embassy in Warsaw, especially for those who are coming to Warsaw just for the interview (e.g., Belarusians, Russians)? The website says 3-5 business days, but it seems that people are able to oick up the passport either the next day or in 1 business day... Just trying to plan the purchase of tickets to the US...
  8. We waited for interview letter for about a month since being DQ, so you will probably receive a letter about your interview next week. The interview was scheduled in about 6 weeks in Warsaw after the interview letter. Good luck!
  9. Hi everyone, I have a question regarding Warsaw interview documents: Do I need to give to my parent for his interview a CERTIFIED copy of my birth certificate or will a REGULAR COPY suffice? I am getting conflicting information from various sources and wanted to get some information based on firsthand experience... Thanks!
  10. Does anyone know how long it takes now for passports with visas to be available after the interview in Warsaw? I heard it could be the next day but sometimes it could 2 business days. I would like my parent to fly to the US right after the interview, so I am wondering what has been the recent history... Thanks!
  11. This is interesting, so you will have no yellow unopened envelope to take, because the medical documents will be sent by email to the embassy. Does anyone know if the same will happen for those undergoing medical examination in Belarus? I am a bit concerned that the physical envelope that you are not allowed to open can be opened without control of an applicant (e.g., while going through customs in Poland). Any insights on Belarus will be appreciated.
  12. We scheduled 3 weeks in advance because my parent is applying to a Schengen visa as well and she will not have her passport for a week or so, so the medical team said it was ok to schedule like this.
  13. This is so great! Congrats to all! Seems that Warsaw is more organized and timelines are very reasonable these days!
