I got married in Brooklyn, and I got immediately after wedding marriage certificate. When I was getting ready AOS I just copy marriage certificate and sent with all AOS papers. Now I got interview letter and I have to take with me certified copy of marriage certificate. Should I just copy my marriage certificate and bring it or I need to go to the clerk office to get certified copies. What is the difference?

When we got married, we immediately received a copy of the marriage certificate from the officiant who performed our wedding... This was not the "official" or "certified" copy.

In MN, the officiant is required to send a copy of the documents to the county clerk who "certifies" the marriage and recorded it in the vital statistics record. The county clerk then sent to us the "official" certificate.

That is true, what you sent USCIS may not be the recored certificate, so yes you may have to get one from your county office.

So what you are saying is we have to go back to the Clerks office and get another copy. Oh well one more trip to the city hall.

Make a plain copy to give the interviewing officer if they want to add it to the file, and also bring the original certificate for them to see to confirm the copy you sent in with the petition is a true copy.

I did the same thing just copied my cert ..but now for the interview we have to have a certified cert? i didnt know that i thought we get our original to prove that the one we sent is real. I think all it matters is the control no or what they call which is on the cert to check if its us.Anyone any thoughts on to this?

my interview is at federal plaza rather than garden city, does anyone know why? it looks like most interview experiences posted in the reviews are in garden city. any experiences for federal plaza?

I dont know why yours is at Fed Plaza but hey its even closer if you live in the city just take that Subway for us Garden city i gotta take that LIRR and a cab so have to plan my route early either way Fed plaza or garden city lets hope we all will get good news. Good luck.

I had the same thing i sent out my RFE and i didnt get any updates for past 3 weeks and even now no updates over USCIS website and no emails but on Friday i got a letter for Interview. so i guess they received my RFE and they are processing but still there is no sign of EAD.

Im on AOS not K-1

Im confused with this which one shall i mark it, I have a Co- sponsor and he checks "E" as "Second" and i being the Petitioner shall i be marking "A" or "E" as a "First Sponsor"??

I'm sending my RFE tomorrow so just wanted to check if i have to send proof of citizenship of the Co-sponsor example birth cert,Passport copy etc?? I have send everything birth cert, passport copy of my co sponsor earlier for the proof of citizensip of USA. In the RFE letter i received they only mentioned of sending supporting documents W2's etc which i didnt send earlier.

So im sending new I-864 forms of my sponsor (wife) and my co sponsor's Tax returns and W2's. Is that enough or i still have to send proof of citizenship??

Have co-sponsor call IRS and get simple IRS transcripts, they are free and are usable in place of (1040/W2/1099) per I-864 Directions.

How about if i change my Co-sponsor itself is it gonna be hassle or i can just mail them the new co-sponsor tax and the new form. do you know the procedure?

ps: i think my co-sponsor is trying to bail out so was wondering if i could change my co-sponsor itself. so need an advice

Hi I want to change my Co-sponsor cause i recieved a RFE and are asking for W2 of Co-Sponsor and she is saying she cant find her W2 so i was wondering if i could change my Co-sponsor in the middle of the AOS process and i just did my Biometrics last week and they are waiting on that RFE to sent so that the case can resume. Anyone did the same ?

whats the difference between 1040 and W2, my co sponsor sent me just the 1040 and said she dosent have W2 with her so i just wanna know if thats gonna be ok to be sent for I-864 with her assets etc.

Thanx for the replies really appreciate it. Im confused if i should wait for aunt to come back or just send in my wife's I-864 and supporting documents and also my aunts I-864 form without W2's and other supporting documents

I dont have copies of aunts W'2 and 1099 and all other supporting documents and she is out of country rite now and she wont be coming back for next 1 month and she lives in california and im here in nyc so i cant get hold of it. so my question is if i just send the form of my wife and supporting documents and ask my wife's aunt to sign and mail just the form back to me, do you think its gonna work cause USCIS already has her aunts W2's and other supporting documents.

So what exactly do i need to send do i have to send all her aunts w2's etc ,applications and the files all over again or just my wife's I-864 and W2's etc

Hi guys i just recieved a RFE i dont know what documents i should send back for I-864. My wife's aunt is the first sponser and she only filed the I-864 form not my wife and all the W2's and stuffs were from my wife's aunt. This is what its written in the letter.

(02) Form I-864 Affidavit of Support was submitted; however, it was not from the petitioner/sponser.

In order to process your application further, submit a completed and signed Form I-864 for the petitioner/sponser listed on Form I-130 or Form I-1-29

(25) In order to process your application further, the joint sponsor on form I-864, Affidavit of support, must submit all supporting tax documentation ( W-2s,1099s,etc) submitted to the internal Revenue Service (IRS) for the most recent tax year.

Are they asking me to submitt a form to show that her aunt is sponsoring my wife (because she sponsored me) or do we just need to show her her w2 forms to show that she can support herself? Her W2 form from 2006 shows less cause she barely worked, but she has a good job now but we will have to wait for the W2 of 2007 to prove that.
