Hi all. My husband had his Interview on April 6th & they only needed his medicals. They kept his passport.. Our case status changed today from "Refused" to "at NVC", with instructions to log into our CEAC account and follow the instructions. When I do this, there are no messages. Has anyone had this happen? O went back in a couple of hours later, and its back to saying "refused". Does it mean that there are issues? I'm so stressed right now.

My husband had his Visa interview on April 6th in Johannesburg. The Embassy said they had not received his medical report yet, but they kept his passport and they will process Visa as soon as they get medicals. The medical centre said they have already sent his medical report. (He took it on March 23rd). How often does South Africa embassy update CEAC case status? It's been showing "Refused" since the day of his interview. Thank you.

Hi All. Hoping to get some clarity. Last Thursday my husband had his Interview and was told he was approved once they receive the medicals from the Dr. They also kept his Passport. But I looked at our case status on CEAC and it shows "refused" for the same date he had the Interview. Is that because they are waiting on. The medicals???? He took his medicals on March 23rd. I don't understand why it still isn't at the Embassy. I've read other people's stories stating their medicals arrived on time for interview. My husband said that everyone that same day, embassy didn't have their medicals. Thank you in advance.

Hello all. We finally got our Visa interview email yesterday We have come across a bit of a snag when it comes to scheduling his medical exam in South Africa.. According to the state department website there are only 2 medical offices that are approved to perform the medical exam in South Africa but when we call we cant get an appointment prior to my husband's Visa interview on April 6th. we just spoke to the one in Cape Town and they don't have openings until April 13th and the other option, Which is in Johannesburg, require us yo send an email request on their website. Any advice on other options, besides rescheduling the visa interview, which is not an option.. I can't believe there are only 2 options in all of South Africa we get so close and then always hit another obstacle.

Good evening. I ham trying to determine if it would be smart for me to request with NVC to Transfer our CR1 Visa case from Nigeria to South Africa. We were DQ'd a few weeks ago and our Consulate is Lagos, Nigeria. Apparently they are still coordinating interviews for cases that were DQ'd in 2021!! My husband is Nigerian, but currently resides in South Africa and has his permit. 1. Does anyone know how difficult it is to get NVC to approve a transfer request? And how long? 2. Does anyone know about how long it is taking Johannesburg, South Africa to send out IL's? Because if it as backed up as Nigeria, then I won't waste our time. 3. Lastly, if we do have to stick it out for another year or so, is it OK for my husband to get a tourist visa so he can visit me? I've already been to him 3 times. Thanks in advance for any help or advice. This is such an emotional Rollercoaster. We started the whole process in August 2021. I had no idea that a U.S. citizen would have to go through such a lengthy process just to have the love of my life with me everyday. I know there are alot of others dealing with the same thing. Prayers to everyone.

Our I-130 was finally approved in June 2022. We submitted all docs to NVC IN June 2022. FINALLY GOT DQ"D THIS MONTH. He is in Nigeria. Does anyone know if the U.S. embassy in Lagos, Nigeria has a long back log or what their average turnaround time for NVC to get Interview scheduled with them is? Or any advice on how I can find out? Thanks in advance

I received DQ email and an email from NVC stating to check my CEAC status AND messages on the same day.

Ok, thank you for the advice. I've uploaded it and went thru the list under "additional documents " and fortunately, we submitted everything else in June to NVC and all docs have been accepted, with the exception of this newly submitted divorce decree. I appreciate your help.

Thanks so much. We had submitted my divorce decree when we filed the petition last year. It wasn't part of the requested docs when we first started the NVC process with them in June 2022. They had requested a better copy of my husband's Nigerian police clearance, but just now requested this divorce decree. So since it's under "additional documents", does that mean we won't go all the way to the back of the line?
