  7. Well I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch, anymore. Assuming everything goes smoothly she'll arrive in May sometime. But she has an extra requirement there of a fiancee' seminar by the government there, she's waiting on a replacement passport as hers was too close to expiration - long story short there are still complications from here to there

    When's the wedding?

Congratulations Charlene!! Bet it makes you want to kiss the ground when you get off the plane :)

Another weird  government srew up story, but at least it has a happy ending:

My fiancee' has an interview april 22. I made it under the embassy's new call in scheduling system. They asked if I wanted to confirm, I said yes and they gave me a confirmation number and later sent my fiancee' an email with the date and confirmation number.

Then I got a letter from the embassy a couple weeks later stating she is eligible for an interview appointment. I shrugged it off as an oversight. Today the day she is ready to leave I get another letter stating call to schedule an interview. Uh-oh. So I go on their website to check on her interview date and it shows no record. Uh-oh. This is like 4 hours before her trip, tickets bought, reservations made, bags packed. So I call the embassy when they open, 2 hours to go ... they tell me they have no record of her appointment either and that I should call back to the scheduling number! UH-OH. But, I say, I have a confirmation number, which the USE emailed to her. I have no way to check on that sir, she says.

She can tell I am ready to lose my mind, so she puts me on hold to 'check'. She then tells me some people were told to call back to confirm, maybe that's you? Nope, confirmation number here, remember? Gave her date, exact time. Oh, hmm, well, ok, I'll make a note in the system, tell her it's ok to go to the interview. WHEW!! Close one!

Everybody wonders what the deal is with some petitions getting an easy ride and others tough sledding. My new theory is they pick some to screw up and then they just keep screwing them up at every possible step of the way. It seems to happen to many who have had long waits, etc. Makes as much sense as any other reason

Early June filer's curse.........but it is over soon Virgil.......When will her POE be??????........

Well if they can make it difficult they will............but it will be o.k........a whole year....unbelieveable........but then the rest of your life.....It is all good.....We are getting married May 2......This is in our control so no problems...........Good Luck Virgil and Ana

Thanks Syl..........We are really happy.....getting settled......Meeting my family......It is all so surreal..........so funny how things change in such a short time........To all those who still wait......It is worth it.......This has made us a stronger couple........So I guess Bill was right.....That that does not kills us makes us stronger.....I doubted this but he was right.......Lora :D

  10. Whatever/whoever the cause, it's a sad representation of our government.

Sara, if it has anything to do with you being Muslim ..that makes it even more sad! Something is seriously wrong and you are a perfect example of that.

I agree Kim......but after dealing with the Peruvian government....the height of incompetence.....I can see at least a ;ittle hope in the U.S. governments ability to improve........that is my hope for all who follow us in this process......Lora

  11. 14. Gee, I wonder if we are the last of the June filers.

Maria passed her medical today. Now we wait for interview on 4/23. It was scheduled for 4/3, but I couldn't make it then. They were gracious enough to reschedule it for us so I can be with her for her interview.

Hopefully, we can head home shortly after that. We want to spend a few days in Hong Kong and a few days in San Francisco before coming home to Florida.

There is so much I want Maria to see and experience on her way home.

Nope 3 June filers here....Our interview is April 1....Virgil's is April 23 and Erica's is in May..........But this is it from VSC

  15. Hi to all people with cases in Lima embassy. i need your coments and help. My NOA2 was approved also 14 feb but i have not received any package from the embassy. My fiance called to the peruvian embassy two week ago and they told him that they have our file, they also say that my interview date is the 3rd week of april and the documenits will be sent in one week. as soon as last week was a national holiday (easter) i assume they got late. so i will call the embassy again this week.

can you give me some info of what documents they are going to ask me so i can start getting them? i also have another issue, i am not peruvian, in fact i am russian and my birth certificate is in russian. i assume thy need translated documents but i dont know if i have to translate them to spanish or english.

aahhh also i wanted to know, if i dont receive the package, do you know if i can send somebody to pick it up from the embassy?

any info you guys can give me will be very appretiated.

thanks a lot andmy best wishes for you all!

    Katiushka

We never recieved our packet in Arequipa from the embassy....he traveled to Lima last week andwent to the window between 9-10 in the morning to get a copy of the invitation letter.....the IMPS certificate is the longest for him to wait for, the police and judical are pretty easy to get.......the paperwork is just like the link on the website......Our interview is April 1.......I am leaving for Lima on Sunday.......good luck....Lora
