We will be in Bogota on Friday to begin our prep for our Wednesday interview...I will have my computer so I will keep in touch, hopefully with LOTS of good news to share!!! :dancing:

:dance:APPROVED AT INTERVIEW TODAY, TOOK LESS THAN 5 MINUTES AND WE HAD A PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS AMERICAN WOMAN WHO WAS ACTUALLY FRIENDLY AND CORDIAL WITH US, DID NOT ASK FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN A FEW QUESTIONS TO MY WIFE, BOTH IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH, we will post details later, but the simple story is we got there AT 0530 AND WERE NUMBER 3 IN LINE AND APPROVED AND OUT THE DOOR by 11 am, sorry so short, but we are at a internet cafe , here in Bogota and we just wanted to share the good news. DOMESA WOULD NOT ALLOW US TO PICK UP AT OFFICE, THEY TOLD US IT MUST BE DELIVERED TO A ADDRESS, THATS WHAT THEY TOLD US ANYWAYS. We will post the details of the interview in a couple days when we return to cartagena...good luck all and may your experiences be as easy and pleasant as ours.

  3. Guys, the interview was finally scheduled. I'm scheduled for December 31st... wow what a date. Bad news is I'm gonna have to travel to Colombia (well it's always nice to go home, but I wasn't planning on spending an extra plane ticket). The good news is she'll be here for early January and I might even come back with her.

Try calling DOS see if your interviews have been scheduled, i.e. MV-JR.

OMG, I'm very happy for you guys. CONGRATULATIONS, I’ll be jumping, your wife is from Bogota and won’t have to spend New year’s away from her family. !!! Good for you guys.!!!

  4. On the migratorio...for example with the policial, Leidy got it about 2 months ago, is that still good, i know its valid for 1 year but with the embassy you never know if they want it more current, ....that's the question i have with the migratorio , is it too soon to get or can shego ahead and get it already, God willing, the interview should be sometime in January.

Galeria Cafe y Libro is more of a night club place then a place to eat...I love the place, im big into salsa and thats the music they play most!

    Hi Byron,

Looking at your Timeline I notice you wrote 11/26/07-Packet 3 sent to Leidy did you mean A. The Embassy sent package 3 to your fiancé? or B. You sent the package (documents) she'll need to show at the Embassy

I'm wondering how did you found out about this information in case the answer is A?

The reason for which I'm asking is 'cause my electronic and hard copy of our package left NVC on November 19, my husband called the embassy on Wednesday and they said they haven't received the hard copy, the only thing I can think about to calm my nerves is 'cause of Thanksgiving day and floating holiday (Friday) the Embassy must be swamp with all those packages they received on Monday.

    Thank you...............Ana

Well i tracked it through dhl...it was extremely time consuming but i did it...i'll post what i did ...i cant promise its going towork but give it a shot..

....go to dhl.com....go to track....then to track by reference...where it says to put ref number put this but with the date that you think it left NVC......EXP 21 NOV 2007A.......Then on the dates part put the range of a couple of days before it was sent , and a couple days after.....for zip code of where it left put 03801.....I can't promise you it will work but try it...keep playing with the dates of the reference and the pick up and arrival dates...until you get a bunch of reference numbers and their destination...if you get that see if the zip code is the one from NVC which is 03801...I hope it works!!

I'll give it a try, I have time to play with the DHL web-site.

    Thanks Byron

    Ana

  6. Good luck Brian and Yenys, I am sure everything will go great for you guys. Update on the DOMESA pickup. Lina told me she spoke to the reps and can pick the visa up today. This makes day number eight since the interview. That is the date that DOMESA projects too, so at least they are keeping their word on that. Anyway I hope this helps some of you guys out. By the way, is there a forum for the AOS or life in America or anything like that? Take care guys.

    AWESOME...THANKS JMARSH

Now just thinking out loud...approved on Monday the 19th...

Tuesday the 20th - 1st full day after interview...

Wednesday the 21st - 1/2 day for the embassy...

Thursday the 22nd - embassy closed...

Friday the 23rd - full day for the embassy (a total of 2 1/2 days so far)...

Monday the 26th - full day for the embassy (a total of 3 1/2 days)...pickup from DOMESA Tuesday.

In Jmarsh's case it was a total of 3 1/2 working days to receipt of visa...not totally outrageous.

Brian and Yenys...you guys are next...if you can, please keep us updated.

    BUENO SUERTE!!!

thanks and we definately will I am flying to Bogota on Thursday and going to the Medical and lab appointments with my

on Friday and they say the results will be ready by Monday and Tuesday is the INTERVIEW....Almost there !!!

    Brian

Good Luck to both of you.

The best of all is that when you do thing the right and honest way, shouldn't be a reason to be afraid thing will go wrong, I wish you the best of Luck in adjusting as a couple, which I believe will be the hardest part for all of us.

    God bless your new family.

  7. Hi all.

The appointments for December (first part) are already in Bogotá’s US embassy website.

Check it out you might be lucky. :reading:

I’m hopping our BGT # will be on the second part, if they actually post a second part. :sleepy:

    Good luck to all....... Ana

    http://bogota.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/decappointments.pdf

That is the most godawful list I have ever seen. It would kill them to sort it by BGT number so someone could find their appointment without looking at 13 pages of mind numbing numbers?

Also, I must have missed something. There is a first and second part? What is the second part?

    Bill y Bella

When I said first part is because the second line on the list it says in Spanish "Citas programadas para Diciembre de 2007 (primera parte), the writing in parenthesis means (first part) I'm assuming there will be an update on the current list.

    Ana,

I'm not sure if you have already done this but read through this post to speed up your process in order to get as early an appointment as possible. You can follow this even though you are a K3. Just the additional docs for the interview will be different for K3s.

    Thank you Scott.

My husband faxed packet 3 today, I'm not sure if it was too soon, we're are hoping to at least get an appointment for the beginig of January.

  9. I asked her to be sure that we couldn't pick up and she was told that recieving your visa in two or three days might be possible but eight days is the sure bet.

    Jmarch22'

Was the answer to Lina "no" to picking up the visa in person?

    Hi Scott

I had been reading around to get information and I’m a bit informed on your situation, I know you and your fiancé have the appointment on Dec 12.

Here is the link from the US embassy in Colombia where they’re explaining about the new changes regaling K packages and passports (visas).

The second link is the carrier website, just in case you or your fiancé want to contact them.

I hope it can help you to get any information in advance. Good luck :star: and please keep us informed.

  10. Lorena, my lovely wife, heard from one of her Colombiana friends the following: The other lady is here on a K-3 visa, with AOS pending. She and her husband planned to visit Colombia, bought plane tickets, and went to the airport. She was denied permission to leave because she "did not yet have her permanent residency."

Anyone else heard of this happening? We're planning to visit Colombia next June, but at the rate USCIS is approving things, along with the problems we've had even submitting Lorena's AOS, it's looking like next November at the earliest!

If any USCIS folks ever read any of these posts (and many assume they do), I wish one of them would kindly explain why it's easier to live and work in this country as an illegal alien than as a legal immigrant.

"Frustrated" hardly begins to describe how we feel these days.

    Hi Parkpapa

It's kind of weird to hear about this, the K3 visa is good for two yrs. UNLESS they were trying to fly out after this time and the AOS was not yet approved.

I'm very interested to find out about this case, my husband and I are waiting for an appointment in Bogota hopefully by January and already planning to fly back to Medellin in August 2008 to attend a wedding.

Please keep us informed. This doesn't make any sense at all.

  11. WE FINALLY GOT OUR INTERVIEW DATE !!!!

    DECEMBER 4, 2007

BY USING THE SHORTCUTS WE LEARNED ON THE SITE AND FAXING, WE CUT TWO WEEKS OFF THE TIME AND IT REALLY

WORKED IN A SPEEDY INTERVIEW DATE.

WE WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW THE PROCESS AND INTERVIEW GOES, I WILL BE FLYING TO BOGOTA TO GO TO THE

INTERVIEW WITH MY WIFE TOO.

GOOD LUCK AND KEEP THE FAITH !!!!

    :innocent: BRIAN AND YENYS :innocent:

Congratulation !!!!!!!...... Christmas together and in Colombia, that sounds like a lot of fun and a VERY good start for the relationship.

    Pls. keep us informed.

  12. You apply to remove conditions within 90 days before the expiration of a 2 year conditional green.card.

You say you moved too the USA 3 weeks before 2nd anniversary? That was 3 weeks too soon, if you had waited until after your 2nd wedding anniversary and then entered the USA then, the green-card would have been coded as a 10 year unconditional one with NO conditions to remove.

Hello YuAndDan, reading this forum, I found this information that has my heart pumping hard, this is why, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I got married on Feb 05/05, when I was still a Resident, I just became a US citizen this year and filed a K-3 Visa for my husband who is in Colombia, our case was aproved on Oct 31/07 and we're waiting for the NVC to send the case to our Embassy, according to what you posted, my husband won't be getting a visa in his appointment, what will be getting then? any information you can provide will be very much apreciated. :help:

    Thanks :luv:

  13. HI EVERYONE!!!

Good news for us today...the Embassy has us in the system and Yenifer is on her way to fax packet 3 shortcut right now...:dance::dance:

I will call the embassy between 2-4 today since that is the only day and time that you can speak to anyone there just to be sure they received the fax.

    We're soooooooooo excited!!!!!!

    HOORAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!! I'm very happy for you guys.

  14. Hi everyone, I'm kind of new with all these, and very happy I found this web site, from now on I'm hoping there will be more $$$ on my saving account, I had been paying a lawyer up to this day, never again, that's for sure. I was scared to screw up, but all you have to do is read the forms carefully.

I have a question, Does anyone have the fax for NVC? thanks
