  1. I'm so excited I'm a mess

OMG I got the email today and looked at my case status on USCIS to confirm and yep its there!! Sept. 15= K1 APPROVED!! Thank you GOD :D:goofy::energy: We are in shock & ecstatic. I told him to start getting his stuff organized to prepare for next steps (i.e. police certificate etc.). It looks like me being so meticulous with all the paperwork in the very beginning has paid off (WITH ALOT OF LUCK). I'm SOOOO HAPPY!! One step closer to my honey I miss terribly. Speedy approval & blessings to all fellow VJ'ers.

    Kristie

P.S. I'm still trying to mentally prepare for evil AP since its PK

    wow....congrats...

congrats! yes, do prepare for AP....all males are now going through AP (and even a higher amount of females!)....they are now also doing home visits on a lot of people. The rest can still happen quickly, just make sure you continue to be meticulous as the embassy has a bunch of people there who can't read apparently :-) Best of luck!!!

  2. Random Question:

Is there a way to find out what are "COMMON NAMES"? Both older sisters received Visa's without AP, the last one received it 2yrs ago. I would of thought becuase 2 sisters were in US and Mother/Father both soon will have Green Card's then it wouldn't be a problem but boy was I WRONG!

    thanks,

    gohar

Hey there, I've been speaking to a few contacts within the system, and the AP has little to nothing to do with the petitioner...so if you've traveled that is something that would have been looked into during your initional petitioning....they do an FBI check and all that on the state side before they allow you to apply. Also, as far as who got visas in the past and how and all that.....I have learned NEVER expect one situtation to be the same as another, especially now days. My brother in law went to the U.S. on a Fiance' visa in FOUR months from start to finish back in 01....my husband and I have been trying for well over a year now and we're just barely there....(and I'm a U.S. born gori, my brother in laws fiance was a Pakistani immigrant). My point...the world and the policies are changing min by min and there's just never a way to know. I'm not saying these threads aren't helpful, they are for sure,,,,but just be cautious and patient. CONGRATS to everyone who has gotten through and even more for those who have quickly.....and for the rest of us....I pray daily God grants me patience and understanding....because I myself don't have it.

    Best of luck!

  3. That's great, yeah, his two older brothers would be just fine. My husband NEVER had a b.c. period....he went to the military hospital last year to get it and they were all destroyed.....ugh. Anyway, at least there's a way out! I would also (just cause with this visa process I'd rather be over prepared) have him include educational documents....can't hurt. Is he working on his 3.5?

I wish it was his 3.5, but no. These are the documents for the ds230 and has to be sent to NVC. We are trying to get everything together ahead of time.

So, let me get this right

    1) he would need to have sworn affadavits done by his 2 eldest bro's

    2) also, it would help to have any educational diplomas with the correct spelling

If he gets those done, then he could submit them instead of his B.C.? Would that be sufficient enough for NVC?

I will let him know and thanks for the help gori

    Aisha

Oh, I didn't realize you needed the b.c. for the NVC.....as someone said below, that's a surprise to hear, but also, they are making changes. You may want to double check though....just to be on the safe side. Yes, if you do the two things mentioned it will "replace" the birth certificate. It is on the Travel.state website they are aware there are issues in some countries, but I got my specific information straight from the embassy here (in PK). If you're sending yours to the NVC it wouldn't hurt to ask.....because I realize they aren't always on the same page!

  4. salaam,

    Need some help please....... :help:

My husband is getting his documents together and he got his birth certificate, but there is a problem.

His last name is spelled incorrectly and it doesn't have his whole name on there either. His birth date is correct and his father's name is correct.........so what can he do to get this resolved?? ( this is his first time seeing the BC..wow)

He is not sure of what can be done to get this resolved, I need some guidance on this matter.

    Thanks

    Aisha

From an email from the Embassy (because we are having b.c. problems for my husband also two sworn statements from parents or older family members, {or} an educational document would suffice.

I spoke with people in Lahore and they said you just need to go to a "grade 1" and have the affidavit sworn by the relatives, or also, the embassy informed me if they have relatives from abroad they can send the notarized copy from where they are. If you let me know your area I can find out where the nearest grade 1 is for you. Any more assistance on this, I'll be glad to help!

I really do appreciate the help, thanks!

Well, my husband is from Rawalpindi. I know that his ID , passport and everything else that I know of.....has the correct name and spelling, but not his B.C. , so he would need to have like his 2 oldest brothers make a sworn statement of his name?? is this correct?

Anywho, he told me that he would ask his oldest bro of where he would need to go or what to do to get corrected and I told my husband that I would ask here as well for some guidance.

    thanks

    Aisha

  6. Hello.

I just want to know. Should I be needing a co-sponsor given the ff scenario:

    a. My fiance only have $10,000 on his Federal Tax Return because he only worked from the final five months of 2007. It is for the reason that he was in my country from Nov 2006 until May olf 2007. My fiance will be providing a narrative statement explaining that.

    b. My finace would be providing me an employer letter showing that he is a full time employee of his current job which has an annualized income of 20,200. Above poverty line

    c. My finace would be providing recent paystubs too

Do you think I would be needing a co-sponsor?

Honestly, it NEVER hurts to have a co-sponsor. If they don't need it, great, but if they do it'll only delay things while you try to get everything together when they ask. I would do it.

  7. I know this topic has been covered in a variety of ways, so I hope I'm not being redundant...but I'm in need of information FAST!

My husband has been trying to get his c.c. for the past 4 months....getting sent all over the damn city. FINALLY we paid our 2500rps (plus a 1500rp bribe) and got his c.c. the other day. Problem is, he's lived in more than one location of Lahore since he was 16 and they didnt' include that on the certificate. It is only including his present address. Can anyone tell me if we are supposed to get DIFFERENT certificates for every house (although it would come from the same police station), or if they were supposed to list all of his addresses? THANKS!

  8. Hi Guys,

My wife's got interview date next month for K3 visa and she will be going to Lahore for madical. I'm wondering if it's possible to get vaccinations from Pakistan as well for various reasons 1) cost 2) saves me time in US 3) Doctors nakhare here etc..

So, has anyone gotten vaccinations in Pak that they used here in the US for AOS and school etc...

hey bro, there is no more medicals done in lahore.they closed masood hospital thingy.now u can only have ur medical done in islamabad or karachi.all the best  (my wife was intended to do her medical at masood hospital lahore, but on inquiry they told her that they are not doing medicals now,so she went to islamabad on 29nov07)

Thanks bro, I had a little doubt about that too because my wife told me this hospital was crossed out. So, she will have to schedule appointment in Islamabad

But as far as vaccinations do you or anyone here has gone through this in Pak? If there are multiple shots needed, I'm sure doctor will have to schedule it for different times....or is it all done once?

it actually depends on the vaccination itself, some are series, some are single.....depends on what she needs really....was she not vaccinated when she was a child?

I'm sure she did but 1) don't have record 2) is that going to be acceptable and no more shots will be needed?

If there is no record, then yes, she will have to have all of the shots required......it sucks, I know. Does she not have a way to get those records from where she was born (for the ones rec. at birth)

  9. Hello guys and girls, I found this site some time ago but never had time to search or post any thing. Finally I read some of the stuff last night and site seems very help full.

Currently I am in the dilema of AP for K1 visa. I've heard different things from differnt people as far as the feed back and time line goes for AP. I am sure many of you already have experience with this. What I need to know is how long it will take until my AP is completed and who handles it? Does it go F.B.I or home land security? I am a little confused, AP is basically for security clearnence right?

I had my k1 visa interview on the 9th, october of 2007 in Islamabad embassy and it went very well. At the end of the interview the embassy officer handed me a blue sheet that mentioned that your case has been temporarily refused for further administrative processing. It also says they can not give me a definite date when the processing will be completed but the minimum time is approximately six weeks and no maximum time limit. What I would like to know is what is the average time for this AP. Does that happen to every body who is from Pakistan specially with my name (Mohammad)

Does any body here experienced this situation. If you have any information regarding this or any tips towards the right direction will be highly obliged.

    Kind regards,

    Mohammad

    Hey there Mohammad,

Sorry to hear about your situation, but yeah, it's typical. As of late (within the last 12months from what I've noticed) virtually EVERYONE is on AP now. Also from what I've noticed, it's taking about 6 months. You may shift through postings and notice the time line on people's signatures...that's what I've done. It's been mentioned that it does not happen through the embassy, but I haven't found out where yet. Again, most of the information is based on what I've read through the feeds.

All I can recommend is emailing them to inquire. You must remember your name and d.o.b. as well as the petitioner and the the case number.

    Hope that helps.

    All the best

    Wendeth

  10. astagfirullah rishwat, thu thu, lol.

more than rishwat(processing fee), you just need a connection. than no rishwat(processing fee) is required. I did not have to pay it.

Yeah, I know full well how things work here.....hence why I wanted to check. He'd gotten one before in two days not paying anything just by going with a friend of his whose cousin was a cop. Now they are both gone for some time, so we don't have a connection anymore. I was more curious if the figure the guy quoted was accurate, or made up on the spot, but they gave him a total of 2500 as well. We've been waiting for 2 months, hell, I'd pay twice that to get this back in the works!!!!! (but won't tell them that! )

    thanks everyone

  11. Salaam All,

Happy New year to everyone. Just wondering, has anyone received there Packet 3 from ISL?? I am still waiting for mine since NOV 26 when my case was transferred from NVC. Feedback appreciated.

email them and check the status...it's possible with the holidays it got delayed, then with all the mess getting shut down over here it could cause further delay....so write to them and check on it. make sure to include your case number both names and d.o.b's

    best of luck!

  13. Hi everyone,

My wife's K3 was transfered to Islamabad on Nov 15th but my wife hasn't received the packet yet? I sent an email to embassy on Nov 21 but no reply. I asked my wife to call embassy so she did and was told if you don't receive letter within two weeks call us. It's been 10 days since she called and we are still waiting. Is any of the info trackable through embassy's website?

The reason I'm desperate about this is becasue my wife is going for Hajj next week and I want to make sure we find out interview date prior to her leaving.

SAME FOR ME!!!!! I am applying for I-129F and NVC has sent the packet on Nov 15 and my fiancee, she still hasn't received anything!! :-(

    very depressing!!!!!

I have e-mailed ISB and have had no luck! Maybe I am missing something!??!?!??!? Not sure, I was approved with no RFE's or anything!

anyways, best of luck to everybody!!!!

:):) GOOD NEWS!!! My Fiance reacieved the packet today!! Her and I are both excited! no interview date yet but another step closer!!! :):)

thats great!!!! just wanted to let you all know...from experience....when emailing the embassy, as you saw earlier, now there is an automated response. If you do end up needing further assistance you can email them directly, but I recommend if you have more than one question make sure you make it VERY clear as i don't believe they read them very carefully. I've done this twice and the second time I got better results. If you have more than one question submit as follows:

    1. question one

    2. question two

etc. etc. Just make it very clear you are requiring help with more than one thing. always remember the pet and ben information too. all the best!

  14. Ok, as some of you may know already, my fiance has been in AP since October 17th.... i know this is not a long time to some people in MENA, but this is the Frankfurt Germany Embassy, and I have never seen ANYBODY go through this from there... so I am trying to figure out what to do?

First off, I am going to see him finally!!! I found a cheap ticket leaving out Monday... yes this monday the 10th! :) i haven't been with him since February, and its been tooooooo long.... i will only be able to stay a week, and come back the 18th... so my questions are this.. should I email the embassy and let them know I am coming and request an appointment? (Can I even do that?).. can we just go to the embassy? Should I contact my congressional representative to see what is going on? Will that even help? Can they do anything? My fiance had to request his passport back temporarily so he can renew his German visa since this is taking so long... maybe we can just drop it back off in person when he is done? I really am looking for suggestions and what you would do in this situation... he is not German, but i still never heard of it taking so long...

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for him to travel back with me the 18th.... any suggestions to make this possible deserves a big KISS! :)

    PLEASE HELP ME!!! :help:

Okay, first......the embassy in Germany may operate differently-but you're right....AP since OCt isn't that long. These days it's taking a long time. If you know somebody or know somebody who knows somebody contacting your rep may help...but if you're an average joe like the rest of us....it doesn't matter....

It won't hurt to email the embassy and let them know you'll be there...but that is unlikely to matter since if word got out that's all it took...EVERYONE would be over seas fetching their love ones :) I know this happens a lot where my husband is from. It doesn't matter if you are pregnant, having a child soon, your husband hasn't seen his children....etc etc. it just doesn't matter. We even asked if there was some sort of fee we could pay to expedite the process and they said no. Like I said...it won't hurt to ask...and maybe you'll be lucky (I hope for you you are)....but be hopeful w/o losing sight of the sad system we're stuck in! :(

  15. Hi everyone,

Hey Rainbow.....all I can say is to keep emailing the embassy. I'm surprised you've not heard back yet. I've always had very quick replies.....but maybe I just got lucky! You've got to just keep on them. You can try to explain you are hoping to find out your interview date....but it'll depend if they even have the information yet. Best of luck on that!

COngrats aka on your wife's visa and her not having to go through AP..THAT'S GREAT!

  16. JP and I are headed to the hospital and it looks like he will be in surgery most of the day, so please remember us and the surgeon today.

    Mary

My thoughts and prayers are with you Mary. I am praying for your son's full and speedy recovery, Inshallah.

Fasal, I THINK the men are on ap still....if Ive noticed correctly. My husband is also going for CR.....best of luck.

Mary, your son is in my prayers- keep us informed

  17. Alhamdullilah. On this Blessed day of Friday, I like to share two good news with you all.

Firstly, my wife received a letter via TCS courier this morning in Lahore Pak for an earlier interview date on Jan 25th, 2008.:dance::dance: Her original interview date was April 8th, 2008. We are both elated and excited to hear this good news. It reduces our agonizing wait by almost 11 weeks, Shukar Alhamdullilah.

Yes, I did send ISB embassy an email two weeks ago (Thank you Mary for the advise) requesting them to move my wife's interview to an earlier date. They replied back one week ago, stating "If an earlier slot is available we will contact the beneficiary". The most important point, however, is that at the end of the reply ISB advised to contact them if we don't hear from them in couple of weeks.

Second good news. Both my kids cases were completed at NVC today. Once ISB embassy receives them I am going to have all three cases consolidated and have interview the same day as my wife's, on 01/25/08

May everyone's painful wait come to an end soon and we all unite with our loved ones as early as possible.

    :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

I'm very excited for you!!! Let's hope this continues for everyone!

  18. Hi every one, i call the department of state 3 days ago and they told me security clearnce is done for your wife earlier this month ( many thanks to Allah) , and there computer is telling...waiting for joint sponsor ship, i was shock because my lawyer allready send the joint sponsor ship in july 2007, like after one month of interview and they verfied its been received. I am very confused why they did not inform my wife or my lawyer that they need joint sponsor ship, because they lost it. DOS visa officer told me if i were you i will send a new sponsor ship letter.I told my lawyer and she is sending a new one to the embassy.

can any one have any idea whats going on ?????

i am making enough money now , and i have a stable income, my lawyer is also sending my three months pay stubs and a job letter to show it to them that so far in 6 month petitioner had earned 18,500 USD, he can support his family.

mary khurram, gori i need your suggestion about the current situation.

islamabad is not responding to my calls, emails probably they are behind due to hollidays.

    advance thanks

Send new or updated information to them as soon as you can. I will say that they can still ask for a joint sponsor but it is worth a try to just have you as her sponsor since they may say the history is not long enough. Good luck.

JP and I are headed to the hospital and it looks like he will be in surgery most of the day, so please remember us and the surgeon today.

    Mary

well i my wife got here interview appointment for AOS(adjustment of status)

    how is everyone doing.

    Good luck on the AOS.

    Mary,

I will be praying for your son. Inshallah everything will be alright.

Will most def. be praying for your son and the dr.'s. I would go ahead and get the joint sponsor if you have someone. It's not worth the hassle later if you need one, it'll just slow things down. If you dont' require them, then no harm done...you know this process, better to be over prepared! Best of luck!!!

  19. Hi KIM-786

According to my information u r missing two forms that u had to send when u get your 3.5 packet and that is the only packet u gonna get from TCS and they charge you 200 rupees for the packet saying that this is embassy charged u. I think u had to fill one 157 and 156 form i think they are DS forms 157 & 156 and one form parents information sheet that u can get from the american express hopefully this will help u

    God bless us all

Thanks for your help! But I think the forms you are talking about are only for K1 and K3 Visa and Not for IR1/CR1. The parents' form, I think, she will fill out on the day of interview.

Anyone, plesae correct me if I am wrong.

The best way to change your wife's address is you have to write a letter including all the potential information and sign and date it and then you can scan and send it via email. That's how I had to do it in my case. they won't just except an email they need your signature.

That's not a bad idea, but it wasn't necc. in my case, I actually just did it over the phone....but things change so regularly!

  20. Hello everyone!

Sorry for being disappear. I was actually in Pakistan. ok, please help me in this especially Khuraam, jaxguy and scartalk because you all have gone through the process.

The NVC farwarded the case to Islamabad couple of days ago and Now I have to change both my wife's Physicall address in Pakistan and her Phone numbers. can anyone tell me what is the best way of doing it. Should I email Islamabad Embassy??

Also, if we do not recieve Packet 3 or 3.5(whichever is the first Packet), can we mail all the docs when we know that they have sent it. I know the first Packet contains the Medical infi, but we alraedy know where she needs to go to do the medical. What I am asking is that Do we need something from the Packet to send it back to the embassy just like The NVC Barcode?? Or can we mail all the docs by ourselves.

Below is the list of docs that I believe We will neeed to mail to teh emabassy in order to get the IR1/CR1 interview letter.

    1) Birth Certificate (Original and Translation) and One photocopy

    2) Marriage Certificate( Original and Translation) and one Photocopy

    3) Copy of the passport biograhic page

    4) DS-230 (Both Part 1 and Part 2, but part 2 not signed)

    5) A statement from my wife that I have already paid all the Fees at NVC). I am also planning to send her the letters from NVC that the Fees have been paid

Please tell me freinds if I am missing something from the list. Please Reply! Thank you!! Regards, kim

Ya, sorry, I know I missed the Police Report from the abvove list. Is there anthing else that I need besides that.

You will need to email the embassy with your case number and the ben and pet. names and dob..and let them know your new address. DON'T send anything before you get your packet...it'll be tossed! let them know in the email you need a new packet sent. YOu may also want to call Nvc here in the states....this is what I was told to do...but make sure you email the embassy and hang on to your documents until you receive the letter. Best of luck! Heading to PK myself in Dec

  21. I want to tell that my sister who is student and applied first time for visit visa of USA and she got it. She was also on AP and she got her multiple visa in two weeks after her interview so there may be chances especially for the females that they get visa soon as compare to males so i especially say all thoses females to keep their finger cross and rays of happiness are not far away you never know when GOD bless u with happiness.

    God bless us all

Haan, that's true......at one time they were rarely doing ap on females from my understanding....I was shocked to learn just about everyone now is going on it...welcome to 2007 now though!

  22. Hi, eevry one gori, mary.....

Its been 156 days that my wife and daughter is on Ap,no news from islamabad. Last 2 weeks i am calling DOS and they are telling me now its on AP.,before they use to tell me??? Security pending

i do not know where the case is standing. Allah help us all to come out from this AP.

    salman

    I

I've heard it takes as much as 6 months...I've seen on here in people's time line it's almost EXACTLY 6 months in some cases. I would consider emailing them and asking them for the details concerning your case. Do you know the standards for emailing the embassy? Best of Luck
