It's interesting to read how the different offices work....when I went for my Bio's we were not security checked in any way, we both had our cell phones, and Hubby was standing next to me when I had my fingerprints etc., done and we were all joking when they couldn't get my little finger print!
I guess that's the advantage of living in a small town

So.....after weeks of trying, I just managed to sign-up for UK Nova
Just keep trying peeps!!

I would have thought that it will have the date on your GC when it arrives.

Have to agree with everyone else....I have been back to the UK twice using my GC and it was totally painless, they checked my passport & GC and on my last visit the officer actually said 'welcome back!'....I was blown away after all the BS I endured when entering on the VWP.

Did you not have to send his previous marriage certificates with the K1 application?....we did (we went to the Courthouse and got copies) and they had them on file at my interview.
I was married before, female, USC. My husband was never married before. I never sent in a copy of my previous marriage certificate because I had to submit it when I applied for my divorce. The council kept it and I just submitted my decree absolute. I'm pretty sure in the K1 instructions, previous marriage certificates was not on the list/just divorce decrees (if it was on there, I would've obtained a copy from the council). This was never brought up in the interview.
I made a huge mistake here, and I apologize! I totally confused the Marriage Certs., with the Divorce Decree....you are so right, it was the Divorce Decrees that we had to get for hubby. I had to get my previous Marriage Cert.
So sorry if I caused confusion here, I blame it on the cold weather here...I had a brain freeze

Like you, when we notified them about our change of address back in 2006, then only thing we got back was for my Hubby (who is my sponsor)...not a thing for me, but I have received my NOA1 and Bio letter etc., since at my new addy, so I think this is the norm!

Roll on April 30h...then I can apply for Citizenship and if I get approved I can say goodbye to the USCIS forever (I know....never say 'forever'...but it's gotta be better than this b/s)

WOW....that was fast, congrats!!!
Did you go through Nebraska or were you transferred to CA?

Well it wasn't very bright of him to give out his address! Any contact from your MIL was going to be very risky for him...this cat was just waiting to be let out of the bag

I have had cats and dogs all my life and had to introduce many new puppies and kittens to older pets...I tried the 'softly, softly' approach by keeping them apart, but that just raised curiosity levels....so the best thing to do is let them sort it out, put up with the hissing and tails that look like Christmas trees, they do get over it!!
Enjoy your new kitty

We use 'Jangl'
http://www.jangl.com/JanglWeb/Default.aspx
It takes a bit of patience to set up as you have to confirm that you allow them to call you, but as long as your contacts have an email addy, you get a 'Jangl' number to call them and they get one to call you. At the weekend our calls are free on our cell phones so it's free to call the UK. They say it's charged as a local call, but the number I have to call is a Phoenix # so for me it would be charged as such. My sons in London have to call a Leeds #, but they have a BT plan that allows them to call nationally for a set fee.
Hope this makes sense, but it's worth a try....the call quality is excellent and they do free texts too, but we have never tried it.
