Hi! I'm Maria, I'm Italian (I was actually living in Canada before, and my first consulate was Montreal, like yours) and I got married here in Ohio in September and we currently live in Madison. I noticed your field office is also Cleveland and I wanted to ask you a few questions if you don't mind.
How long did it take them to approve your EAD?
How long did it take them to approve your AP, if you got it?
Did you get any RFE? I got one today, they claimed I didn't submit my marriage certificate, when I actually included 4, one for each application. It's very annoying, but I already dealt with it by uploading it online.
Did you have an interview or they waived that requirement?

Currently in the same situation but a word of warning to you - my husband (US citizen) has an employer health plan but they have not allowed me to be on his health insurance as they require a social security number from me (which I won't get until my green card is approved)...it might be different for every employer health insurance plan but definitely check the minute you get one Thank you for sharing the travelers insurance - I hadnt even thought of that!
