that is a correct assumption, based solely on our experience! (not trying to be a downer at all. just what we went through). instead of “active criminal records”, it’ll say subtype “other”. it’s very tedious and daunting. our new certificate took 14 days to come in the mail

hi there! mt husband had his interview on jan 9th. we did get delayed due to this exact issue. when we got home, we went to Reliability Screening, a 3rd party company that is from the government website for my husbands fingerprints and new police certificate. when we went to the place, the lady knew exactly what we needed before we even explained. she told us the requirements changed September 2022 and we weren’t the first ones with this issue. we re-submitted my husbands fingerprints and the new Police Certificate took 14 days to come in the mail. when you apply for your new certificate, just ask if there’s any way to expedite it or maybe even go to an RCMP on your own to explain and see what they can do to help you. i will be writing a post later on our exact experience to help others because this will definitely cause an issue

hey guys! when you get your passport and visa package via purolator, do you open that purolator envelope? or leave it sealed?

it’s only ever said “refused”. we didn’t go into administrative processing at all. we were just handed a 221g for the new police certificate which they now have. i know it can take the 60 days after the interview for AP. maybe that will apply here as well

Hi @CAN_VISA! Congratulations on receiving your visa after AP. We are in a similar boat as you. (I have 2 questions for you at the end) My husband had his interview Jan 9 and was delayed due to the police certificate requirements changing (obviously we didn't know). The interviewing officer was pleasasnt and said everything is perfect and checks out but we need the new police certificate in order to move forward. She also mentioned that once they receive the new police certificate, it will be 2-3 weeks until we hear back from them (3 weeks will be feb 16th.) They kept my husbands passport which i think is obviously a good thing. There has also been a change in his CEAC last updated date- it was stuck on Jan 9, the day of his interview, and now it is Jan 31. My questions are: Did you receive any notification from NVC or AIS that your passport has been shipped back? How soon was the CEAC updated in coorelation with receiving back your passport? Its so hard to stay positive, especially when the delay is over something so silly and little. I just want to cross over the border already to start our lives there. Each day feels like a year passing. Thanks for your time to read and answer.

@mam521 wow really? ok thank you, my stomach definitely would have dropped! how soon after should it say “issued” after the interview? and if it does say “refused” how long does it take to switch to “issued”?

congratulations! that’s so exciting for you and your family. the whole process was 20 min from when you walked in the door? or just when you spoke to the officers?

hi richard! here is the list from the government website: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/vaccinations.html also, to help save you a headache that we had: some vaccinations are only for certain age groups so a pharmacy and clinic may not offer them to you: do not be alarmed! you can always triple check at the clinic when you go for your medical exam, they will confirm which ones you are eligible for. my husband is 34 years old and wasn’t in an age appropriate bracket for some vaccines required so don’t be alarmed

Thank you guys so much for your help! Yes , I wanted to track the case after the interview and that link helps a ton, thank you! I read some people were approved at the interview but then received an email that they are in AP or the case tracker stated otherwise also so i just wanted to cover our angles to make sure it all goes well.

My husbands interview is on Monday January 9th. We have our documents prepared and are hoping for the utmost best for us and all that are interviewed that day. Can someone please help me figure out how to see the status change on the CEAC website. Is it by the documents we submitted where it says "ACCEPTED"? or somewhere else. We just want to make sure we look in the right place and see our status has changed. Thanks for your help. Is anyone else there Monday Jan 9th as well?

hey guys! i just wanted to confirm the fee for the green card at the interview provided all goes well! what is the fee? USD or CAD? what form of payments are accepted? im getting so nervous reading posts about people needing AP, honestly. we really aren’t in a position to stay much longer. our interview is next monday, Jan 9th!

they didn’t explain to you why you needed additional processing? i’m surprised if they didn’t! i’m glad everything is going well now though, a good relief for you
