WUZZ UP~~ I am a US CITIZEN NOW!! so I went to court at 8am and had a long process of waiting and checking in and at 10 our ceremony started and it ended at 12. I just found a problem On my naturalization certificate it says i am 6ft 7in.... and I am lik 5ft 11in.. I don't know what to do....
Congratulations!!!!
To fix the height I am afraid you are going to have to fork out the cash to get a corrected certificate. At my ceremony they told us to go over the certificate to make sure there were no errors. And warned us that if we found an error after we left...the next day, a week later, etc., that we would have to pay to fix it...

If you go to the passport agency nearest you early enough in the morning, you might get it the same day - otherwise they will have you pick it up the next day. You have to have proof of international travel within two weeks, and you have to call and make an appointment.

All done!! My oath was a 1pm CST today in northern Indiana. There were 48 of us from 20 different countries. Half from Mexico and the rest from the Middle East and Asia. I was the only Swede and the only blonde. lol The judge who presided over the ceremony was wonderful. He kept cracking jokes and was very encouraging and welcoming, He said he loved hosting Naturalization ceremonies. I registered to vote and updated my records with the Social Security Administration. I'm glad I could take care of it there instead of dragging my 2-year-old down to the SSA office here in town. My husband is throwing me a party tomorrow to celebrate with friends and family.
Can someone update me to US citizen, please? I can't get the chart to post correctly.

Woohoo! I'm officially a USC! About darn time and a nice present for the 7th wedding anniversary (coming in October).

The ceremony was nice. I got there about 12.30, an officer started explaining rules and checking if everyone had the letters filled out and green cards ready about 12.50. They started calling names at 1.10, and the actual ceremony began at 1.45. We were done by 2.15. I waited in line to update my SS status. Keeping my old card:) The election people were not there, so I'm gonna have to go and register at the election board. Didn't have time to file for the passports. Didn't get to take a picture with the judge, he left while I was dealing with SSA. Oh well.
There was about 45 new citizens there. They did not call out the countries, so i have no idea how many people were from a certain place. Definitely most were Latin American, at least half a dozen was named Martinez
(not related). I think I saw two more former-USSR people, not sure if they were from Russia.My two older sons also became citizens, a year to the day after getting their green cards.
Anyway, I'm very happy. Probably excited, too, but too tired to feel it
Oh, and a fun fact. I was the only person among the new citizens who new the author of the Star-Spangled Banner

Just spoke to my senator's office and they told me I might get scheduled for an oath on October 14! It's not a done deal but my case has at least been referred by someone at the Chicago office for that date! PRAY and keep your fingers crossed for me!!

I just received mine too, but I got a new card, even though the guy at the ceremony said mine was fine. Mine was changed when I became a PR. The new card hasa date issued that the old ones don't have.
Yes, the one I got in 2008 has the issue date on it too. So maybe that's why they didn't issue a new one.

Oh, today I got a letter from social security confirming that my status was updated to citizen and that no new card would be issued (I had already removed the DHS language when I became a resident)

Congrats, I'm happy for you! I went to the post office yesterday and WITH expedited fee the guy said it would take about three weeks...
Now we know that they CAN produce a passport in one day and mail it out quickly...pity they can't do it all the time...

Did you check the envelopes your passport and CoN came back in originated from NH ? If so, that may be why yours came back so soon with no expedition and overnight delivery fees paid. I live across the continent in the opposite end of NH, it is quite impossible to have a 4 days turn around like yours even with an extra payment of $72.72 (expedition + overnight delivery).
Count yourself lucky and enjoy your new passport !

I know I am very lucky! The envelopes were sent from the passport agency on Hudson Street in Manhattan. So glad I went there on Saturday instead of to the post office....

Update: my landlord had a piece of mail for me that the mail carrier didn't try to stuff into the mailbox. Picked it up this morning - it contained my CON. So, I got everything back (on the same day)...

Passport has been mailed!!! I applied on Saturday, September 17 - Passport Day @ New York Passport Agency. Paid for routine processing and did not pay for overnight delivery - the agent said I would get it within 5 business days! I guess he wasn't pulling my leg...
