  1. Hi everybody.

(Moderator- if this isn't the correct spot, please move. thanks in advance)

My wife had a death in her family last week. She wants to go back to Hong Kong for 1-2 weeks. Does she need a re-entry permit for just 1-2 weeks?

    Quick info:

We got marry July 27, 2008. But her green card doesn't expire until next year so I'm assuming we don't need to worry about removing condition.

    Any help appreciated. THANKS ALL~~

  2. Hey everyone,

Prior to sending the I-485 packet with everything, we are required to send in a I-693, Medical Examination.

"""""""""""""" 11. I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. (If you already have this from your overseas Visa Interview submit a copy that medical check form; No fee is required in this case. If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.) """"""""""""""

What if my wife never recieved a medical check form? Can I skip part II of the I-693 and just submit a copy of her vaccination supplement booklet? That booklet have all her dates of shot.

Please help, this is my last step and info to gather before submitting. Thanks everyone.

  3. Hi everyone,

    I hope everyone's doing good.

A couple questions about AOS before I actually do it.

Here's the run down... (I know I need to update my timeline :P)

My fiancee got here on July 8, 2008. We go married on July 27, 2008. (woot) And now it's August 17. But we get 90 days so I think I"m doing OK on time..

    1. I read here that Oklahoma City residence can file differently.. but I can't find the information without it being out of date.. Can someone help me here???

    2. Will my wife need EAD??? Lets say my wife will not work until she gets her 10 year GC. Is it necessary?

    3. After she receive her 10 year GC, can we go traveling back to Hong Kong with no trouble?? (for example: entry port and passport..)

    4. Instead of working while we wait for our AOS to process through, can my wife goes to school??

    All help appreciated..

    Thanks everyone~~

  4. I'm filing at VSC, petitioning my Fiancee at Hong Kong.

We received packet 4, and they give us a 900 number.

Whose suppose to schedule/call for the interview? me or her?

Whose on the other side of the phone? US citizen or Chinese ? Because we have to pay to schedule I want to know if I would have to because my fiancee can't speak/listen good English

  5. Hey VJer's

I'm moving closer to being with my fiancee. But, we hit a stop sign. (sort of)

I'm filing for K-1 fiance(e) visa I-129F, and I need to know if the following apply to me (this is word 4 word in the letter)

Nonimmigrant visas:Beginning on January 1,2008,the application fee for a U.S nOnimmigrant visa will increase from$100 to $131 USD.applicants who paid the prior $100 application fee before january 1,2008must pay the difference --$31(or HKd248)in cash at the U.S consulate general hk--before they will be interviewed.asin the past ,Nonimmigrant visa applicants in hk will continue to pay the fee at da sing bank, which has a number of branches throughout hk.

Do I have to pay for that? Please see timeline for more information. Thank guys.

Good luck to everyone and thanks for your time,

    Tanffy

  6. Hey VJer's,

I just want to confirm if this is still true.

Once my fiance(e) gets approved for visa (the whole 9 yard), and then flys back with me to .. o let's say the international airport was at Dallas and the destination was Oklahoma City. From there, after 1-2 weeks, can she board a plane to Las Vegas back and forth or any other States for that matter???

I read in the forum that it's OK as long as she remains in the USA, but it was a while back and I just want to confirm this is still true before I start shopping for prices and such.

    Thanks,

    Tanffy

  7. Hey VJ'ers,

    I'm I ready?

I need some advice / help please.

I told my fiancee to get her medical shot record card ready, but when I told her to get a police clearance report, she told me they can't authorize her one without documentation proofing the need of it. So I guess she needs to do that when she receives packet 3.

Does anyone know of anything else my fiancee needs to be preparing for?

Will I be contacted by NVC that they received my K-1 and when they are going to mail it out to Hong Kong embassy??? If not, when/where do I call to find out about it??

Do I need to make 1 copy of everything i'm sending to my fiancee??As I'm about ready to send my packet information, I want to list everything I will be sending and I want your advice/help to tell me if its good to go.

    I-134 application notarized

My copy of I-129F with copies of supporting evidence in I-129F. (Will copies document works?)

My bankstatement notarized (letter stating my account date opened and present balance on bank letterhead)

My current employer statement listing start date, job position, salary, and it's full-time on employer letterhead.

My tax transcripit from last 3 years.

My evidence for on-going evidence (Skype Phone history, Msn chat log, visually printed print screen of our msn video cam. I don't have anything else, will this be OK???)

My new letter of intent to marry my fiancee.

Copies of NOA1 and NOA2. (Should I just provide NOA2? or will providing both be better?)

As far as original goes, Do I send original birth certificate? What other originals can I send out? (besides passport, haha) Will I need to send in a passport photo? What else I'm I missing?

I feel like I'm missing something.

Thanks for reading, And I apologize for not reading every other post that can lead to my question.

  9. Hey all, I recently received my NOA2 via e-mail/uscis website. And now I want to prepare documents to send over to my fiancee. If possible, I will need all the help I can. Sorry if this is long.

    1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

I can do this part, but let's say my copy is not perfect. But the information is accurate. I hope this does not matter too much. Any comments?..

    2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

Now for all originals of the documentary proof, what would this consist. I know we don't send our passport. So far I have in mind is my original birth certificates. I'm I forgetting something?

    3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

This may sound redundant, but can someone provide an example please?

    4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is notarized (by a US Notary Public), with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

So only the I-134 Affidavit of Support form needs to be notarized? Do my supporting evidence needs to be notarized?

    5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and useful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.

Would this be, the date my bank account opened, statement with total amount deposited last year, my current statement, Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead., ?? Question #7 on the I-134 form, it ask for you to list savings, stocks, bonds, mortgages, do I need to provide or write anything down for those if my annual income is 25,000+ for me and my fiancee? If so, Do I need to provide document to prove that?

    6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

This part is probably the easiest. hehe

    7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

Ok, tell me if I have enough or if it's valid. I have Skype phone history, MSN chat log (even though we video cam more than typing), print screen of our video cam for visual pictures. I really can't think of anything else, can some of you guys tell me what your fiance(e) bought to the interview????

To my understanding, I need to send 2 copies of I-134 packet to my fiancee? Questions about I-134, #11, What is some example I can put here??

If I'm missing something or need changes, please tell me.

Many thanks for stopping to read my long paragraph of questions.~~

Please comment or tell me a correct procedure if there is one.

    Kudos~

    Tanffy
