  1. Yay! I have good news! My husband and I got the interview appointment notice in the mail today! (= Our interview is July 22, 2008 in Atlanta, GA USCIS office! I'm excited that it is so soon!! Thats exactly four months from the time we sent the AOS....

So do they still approve you on the spot at the interview if they are convinced that you're a true couple?? My husband is 19 and I am 18 about to turn 19 and we are full time college and live with my parents.... so we don't have car insurance, car, leases, or anything like that in both our names... all we have is a bank account, we did our taxes together, i changed my last name to his on all my stuff now like DL, SS, and College Stuff. We had a court wedding as of now (we're saving up for our big wedding on the beach (=) but we do have tons of pictures from high school together, proms, vacations, friends weddings, family, etc...

I am now officially nervous about the interview!!!! Does what I have listed above sound "clear and convincing?" Any advice on what to get together in order to show that we are true and be approved would be great Thanks!

I got my interview notice today too. Mine is scheduled for Jul 22nd too and it is in Atlanta :)

  2. My check has not been cashed yet. It has been more than 40 days but no receipt yet. So I called the Customer Service and the representative said I was supposed to send ~$355 for I-130 in addition to $1,010 I sent with the whole package. I am now confused, I thought $1,010 included fees for I485, I-765, I-130, and I-131.

After that she talked to her supervisor and said that call back again in 2 weeks! I hope they didn't forget my application somewhere :)

    The $1,010 only covers I-131, I-485 and I-765.

You have to pay an additional $355 for I-130.

I know how you might have been confused as most people on VJ do not need I-130 as they are adjusting from a K-1.

Call again and see if there is a way to send an additional check for the correct amount or something. If not, they will most likely return your entire packet.

    So sorry.

That might explain it. I am still disappointed that USCIS wouldn't send my application back earlier. It has been more than a month, how hard is it to send it back :)

Anyway, I setup an Infopass appointment to see how I am supposed to fix it.

  4. Hate to be the drag of the thread but here goes my update:

Just got back from the infopass appt and don't have anything really new to show for....they said the MSC is backlogged about 6 weeks (this is my 5th week) so to come back if I haven't heard anything in another 3 weeks (no NOAs or cashed checks)...kind of what I expected to hear...although I really don't know what that means since most people on this thread had their cases moved forward.....I guess I got to sit and wait a little longer....

The good part was that I got to see the Chicago Office and it is really nice, easy to access, and most importantly, everybody there was nice and customer service oriented (from the security guards to the immigration officer we spoke to). It was a great departure from what I have experienced with other contacts at the border (particularly the Canadian border coming back from Niagara Falls).

Well, hope to have good news to share in a few days (weeks)....

I am in the same position. I just called the Customer Service number and they say my case is still not in their system!

It has been more than a month now.

  5. I too am still waiting for them to cash my check and send me NOAs. It has been a month since I sent it, but no news yet.

Must have fallen on the same desk as my package (2/12)....I'm going in for an infopass next Monday and hopefully there is some explanation behind this delay....

I guess I am going curious if you can track tour case after infopass. If they can help you during Infopass I will do the same thing.

  6. I am in the same situation. I called couple of civil surgeons in Atlanta area. The test prices are between $125-$300 without shots.

Some of them don't do shots at all, some of them want extra $150 for shots.

So I called the local health department for the price of shots. One of them said that Td and MMR shots are $14 each and I need to take 1 dose of Td and 2 doses of MMR. The other said 3 doses of Td ($14 each) and 2 doses of MMR ($55 each)

Do I need to take multiple doses of any vaccine? Some civil surgeons said they give only one dose.

I am little confused about this :)

  7. Hello,

I would like to know if someone from Atlanta had their civil surgeon visits?

I have my immunization record when I came to US as a student 6 years ago. I will take that paper to the civil surgeon to show my vaccine history. Can u suggest a civil surgeon that is not going to cost too much too fill out the form?

PS: I have a H1B visa right now and am getting married in January.
