  1. My husband had his interview before his medical as well last year, you should be fine.
  2. Hi Kelly, what’s the update? Is your husband finally here in the states and how long did it take for him to receive his passport with visa after the medical ? My husband scheduled his second medical cause the Embassy told us his random testing was not done but he can schedule his medical. I’m so glad it was scheduled because those appointment times for the medical are now in December and the random testing would be done way before then. I’ve contacted my state senator and the state definitely help us to talk to the embassy per se. should I email the Embassy as well, or wait until we get a call that the testing is done. When I called Andrews they told me it was September his random testing ban is done back in June (Boy I was upset) . Either way, we are looking to get everything done before his scheduled medical next month.
  3. Thanks so much ! I’ve contacted my state senator now so they can reach the KING embassy to get their attention .
  4. So my husband and I are still waiting. He did his last random test on July 13 and on that same day, I got an email from the embassy that an Consulate officer will contact my husband soon. It’s now August 10. I’ve emailed them multiple times . Are they waiting on me and hubby to recomplete the DS260 form? Or do we have to wait for them to tell us to complete it? I just want my husband here, it’s been going on three years since we have been doing this process.
  5. Hi everyone, My husband has been completed 4 random testing over the course of a year , the ban started on June 22 2022 and supposedly ended June 22, 2023. The drug testing started in October 2022. From what I have been reading, it looks we should hear from the embassy any day now, when I checked his case it was updated to June 28 2023 under refused. His last random testing was June 13 2023. However when I checked the NVC site not the ceac site I saw under my husband’s D260 that it was reopened. The link was clickable and it took me to the DS 260 application. I quickly withdrew out of that. I saw something about payment . Does that mean we got to pay that application fee again?! I hope not. In addition, I got a congressman to look into my case primarily because of a call I made to Andrews medical regarding when he will get to do his medical once again. The lady said September because it has not been a year. I asked the lady why would that be since we got the information late, ( we didn’t hear from the embassy until September 14 via email when the letter said July 14) so you can imagine my disappointment. However after reading several posts on this 1 year substance abuse ban, it looks like my husband will be here before September. Thanks for giving me hope.
  6. Hi Lorenelady Due to the backlog, it’s going to take a while, meaning months since they are still dealing with cases in the IR1/CR1 category that was DQ August 2021. If you want to expedite your case, you certainly can if there any urgent emergency that can help you forward your case to the Kingston Embassy. Hope this helps !
