    I'm confused! Did you file original paperwork in order to do AOS?? why mention visa if she's already on a visa? And where are you traveling?? Out of the country?? You should be able prioritize her legal status over traveling unnecessarily.

    If this is a scammer then they would not be able to mess up your case. Use your receipt number to follow up on your case by yourself. You don't need a lawyer. You can communicate with nvc and uscis by yourself and watch your own progress. The lawyer doesn't make it go faster or approve anything. It's solely the discretion and decision of the immigration.
