Interview passed - was a non-issue really, as they didn't ask to see any paperwork and since the first six questions were answered right, they decided not to do all 10. It took longer to print the oath letter than to conduct the entire thing. We were in at 1:15 and out at 1:30. Ceremony is next week!

Hi everyone,

To answer the question about what we do use the priority date instead of the date of the notice on the list.

The Received Date on the NOA is the date that it arrived at the lockbox for processing. The Priority Date is the date they enter the barcode and other information on the computer. The Notice date is the date when it was issued. We use the Priority Date on the NOA to determine the order how our cases will be processed(or should) in our local offices. The priority date comes also on your Biometric notice.

The lady in Sacramento, CA was very nice asked my wife for all her info name, SSN, address, and also questions about me. Like my birthday and full name. Also asked how we met and when we got married. Asked to see pictures of the wedding and documents showing joint items, lease agreement, bank accounts, insurance, etc.

All and all it went great, though we did not receive a stamp. I was too happy to ask why but she said we should have the card in 2 weeks. So that's it for 1 year and 9 months. Thanks to everyone out there you've all made this journey less daunting and I thank you.

Hey April filers...We got our I-797 for our AOS interview. YEEEAAAAHHHHH. Our interview is Oct 30th.

i see our april filer are finally getting a lot moving and actions...that's good to see...so i got 2 cris emails for EAd card productions on 6/16 and 6/19...anybody know what that means....

I got two emails also. One was notice that the card was ordered and the other was that the I-797 was sent. Two very different things. So it is normal.

Just got the email EAD has been APPROVED!!!

We are so excited now we can finally get a drivers license with her real name.

I would like to know how people are getting drivers licenses? I took my wife to get one and they wouldn't give it to her based on the fact that her status is not defined. we tried to get it on her K-1 but they took so long to approve it that when they were going to issue it they couldnt because the visa would expire less than 60 days fromt he issue date. So is there something else we can use (marriage cert, ssn #, etc...) thanks.

Driver's License issues vary state by state. Some states won't issue them to K1 holders and some will. I got mine in Massachusetts with no problem but it's not the same for everyone.

Its a pain in the State of California. While other states are more lenient, California is the worst to get even a driver's permit. If you don't apply for State ID or Drivers license in CA within the first 3 weeks of arriving, they don't even bother looking at your I-94 since they require at least 2 months before I-94 expires. I was able to get my driver's permit but it expires when I-94 expires and since I've never driven before I can't take the drivers test yet. But even if I could, the license would expire on I-94 expiration date. So now, I won't be able to complete my license until I show my proof of residence to DMV, which is a green card in simple terms. DMV at 3 locations said the same thing, all in Southern California. I still have to find out though from DMV if I have to retake the written test or if I can continue with a permit once I show my green card. Hope this helps anyone.

We still have a few questions. How much should we make the money order? $930 plus a biometrics fee of $80; the fee total is $1,010. So do we pay the biometrics separate or together just make a money order of $1,010 and sent it with the AOS package?

Another question I also have is that we applyed for SSN yesterday, after he will get his SSN in the mail is he allowed to get a job? or he has to wait for form I765 (Application for Employment Authorization) WE ARE SO CONFUSED?!?!?![/b]

If he didn't get the temporary EAD at JFK then he will need to wait until he has his EAD.

The EAD are typically being processed in 45-90 days. USCIS has made that a priority and if you look at other posts from previous months you can see that people are really getting it that fast.

We got our NOAs for AOS/EAD/AP yesterday and we are thrilled. YEAAAHHHH.

Check was cashed today, hope to have NOAs in mail today or tomorrow.
