  1. Thanks. The hardest part is that I see some cases with many other embassies like London, Frankfurt, Hong Kong and even Nigeria getting interviews scheduled for July DQs; and my DQ is on June 13th. Given there is no backlog at my embassy, not sure why NVC is taking this long to send the case to Colombo and communicate on an interview date.
  2. I did reach out the embassy at the end of June. They said there is no immigrant visa backlog, but they haven't received the case from NVC yet. Plus, the NVC case timeline site shows that the case is still at NVC. Per your note, it"s true that they have a non immigrant visa backlog. However, per my email exchange with the embassy, they specifically mentioned that there is no backlog for U.S. spouse cases. I will reach out the embassy again today. Thanks.
  3. I have 2 cases (CR1 and IR2) documentary qualified on June 13th. Embassy is Colombo, Sri Lanka and they have no interview backlogs. No interview letter yet, so I sent an expedite request to NVC on July 28th. 1) How long would it take for the decision regarding expedite request? 2) When the U.S. embassy has no backlog, is there reason NVC taking this long to schedule interviews? 3) Would contacting local Congressmen or Senator help at this juncture of the process?
  4. I got DQed for CR1 and IR2 on June 13th. However, the case is still at NVC. I contacted my embassy (Sri Lanka), and they said they have no backlog, but the embassy have not received the case from NVC yet. Please advise on the time lag between DQ date and the date that the case leave NVC. Thanks.
