  1. OH NOOO!!! i wish i could be of help! maybe call and ask what to do? after i had my baby, there went 1/4 of my brain, i can empathize with you on that one! i was at the post office when i sent mine Sept 8; as i was taking out my check book, i realized that i totally forgot who i was making the check out to! i had nobody to ask as my husband was at work. after about 10 minutes of just thinking and staring at my packet, i just wrote out USCIS.. i hope that was right.. oh my gosh! then i dropped it in the mailbox. as of now, they still haven't cashed it.. I HOPE I WROTE IT OUT CORRECTLY!! i'm such a moron...

so i guess i'm as "stupid" as you? hehehe... :)

    2. Make the check or money order payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security, unless:

    A. If you live in Guam, make it payable to Treasurer, Guam.

    B. If you live in the U.S. Virgin Islands, make it payable to Commissioner of Finance of the Virgin Islands.

    C. If you live outside the United States, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands, contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or consulate for instructions on the method of payment

NOTE: Please spell out U.S. Department of Homeland Security; do not use the initials "USDHS" or "DHS."

  2. i believe we are exactly in the 90 day window.. unless i counted wrong. math is not my strong point. :) my husband's GC expires Nov 30, they received the packet Sept 9. That has to be within the 90 day.. IT BETTER BE! i don't want that thing back!

You are find then. I thought his GC date is Dec 13(as per your signature)

  3. so they received the packet just this morning. does anybody know if this will show up in the USCIS website? I just checked, and the only thing showing up is my CR-1 and that is still in INITIAL REVIEW! LOL!

hope we get the biometrics letter soon. We are going out of the country this October..

Aren't you early? I thought the window is 90 days before the expiration of GC?

I am from Pawtucket and I used Dr. Littell. I paid $45.00 for the vaccination because I don't have insurance(prices ranges from 45-75). Most of the surgeons are not familiar with the K1 process and they will suggest taking full medical just tell them vaccination is all you need. I had my shot last June, so I'm not sure if you need more than vaccination for the I485 nowadays.

    Hi dawnlake23,

Thanks for the reply. I will follow up with the Dr. I am interested to know whether you need to make an appointment with this Dr. or was it a simple walk-in? By the way, the $45.00 you paid, was it for one or more vaccines? Which vaccine(s)?

    drl

It's a simple walk-in. The $45 is only for Tdap because that is the only vaccine I needed. It might be higher if you need more. My suggestion is, call first to check the availability of the doctor(days and time). Some doctors are only in the clinic a couple days a week. Goodluck...

  6. thanks I hope i'm right and it will be approved after this... I have checks from 2 weeks ago showing i worked 38 hrs with 10$ an hr pay and If the letter says 35-38 and they go by 35hrs a week with 10$ an hr it would be $18,200 a yr. For a family of two, the poverty guidelines say 125% is $17,500. ::fingers crossed::

I think it's safer to find a co-sponsor, especially if your tax returns are below the poverty lines.
