  1. I have been checking the status of my case and previously it indicated an estimated time of 6 months. However, the current status changed to the following: Your case is taking longer than expected to process. You do not need to take any action at this time. Your next step: USCIS reviewing your case Has anyone else encountered this situation? Any idea how long it will take? It has been 11 months since I submitted my application. Thanks.
  2. thanks, where do i check which office it was sent to? is it the address on the receipt notice (that's in Texas but that's not the state I'm in). thanks
  3. I am planning to. my H1B doesn't expire till end of year. any idea how long ap takes? thanks
  4. Hi, just wondering what everyone else's progress is. I am currently on my H1B but married to USC. AOS was filed in Sept 2022. I received my EAD in Jan 2023. Is the next step the interview then GC? if so, how long is the typical wait time. if my H1B expires, can I technically still work in the US since I have my EAD? for traveling purposes I would just need to apply for advanced parole?
  5. thanks, if I-130 is still pending then I should?
  6. If spouse is US citizen and I'm on the h1B. do we need to file taxes as "married filing jointly"?
  7. Hi I have received a rejection notice and my whole package was sent back. The AOS package included: I-485 (outdated version was sent) I-864 I-131 I-765 This was the rejection notice for I-485 rejection notice for all the other forms: I see that each form have been stapled and some printed text at the bottom also initialed by a person. is a new cover letter needed? My question is do I send back all the forms as is (stapled by USCIS with the rejection notice on each form) with the updated I-485? I also realized that there are newer editions that came out for some or the other forms. do i need to send newest edition even if the expire date is next year? the package that was sent back also included the envelope postal date that I send it on.
  8. Hi, When do I need to submit I-693? Is it supposed to be submitted with the AOS package? thanks
  9. on the USCIS site it says: Also include a copy of every Form 1099, schedule, and any other evidence of reported income. Is this needed if I have included tax return transcript, last 6 months of paystubs, and employment verification letter?
  10. I was in school in 2019, do I need to provide letter regarding the missing year? thanks
  11. For form i-864 it says "have you filed a federal income tax return for each of the three most recent tax years?" do they mean 2021, 2020, and 2019? or just most recent years? I did not have income/filed in 2019 but I have a tax return for 2018. so can I use 2021, 2020, and 2018?
  12. Does anyone know if I need to/should file I-765 I-131 and I-864 with i-485? Do I send it all in one package or separately? Thank you
  13. I am currently on h1B work visa and have filed i-130 online in Aug 2022. I am planning to submit i-485 soon. when mailing the i-485 do I need to include the original i-130 receipt. What other documents do I need to include so that it’s considered filed concurrently? Are there any other documents needed other than I-130 and I-485? What is the approximate timeline? Thanks
  14. I am currently on H1b (and married to a USC). I have recently submitted the i-130 online. I will be filing the i-485 soon. Since I filed i-130 online do I only need to include the i-130 receipt with i-485? Is there a place to fill out receipt number inside of form i-485 Are there any other forms I need since I am currently on H1b? do I need to wait to file these other forms? such as i-131 and i-765
