  1. I used to think so too, but you’re eligible for DS2019 extension as long as your waiver is still pending.
  2. Any idea if the same can be filed against DOS for a significant delay in J1 waiver adjudication?
  3. I wish you the very best! Waiting sine Nov 2021 and I know exactly how frustrating it is! If I may ask, how much did it cost? How long did the lawyer take to file? And if you’re comfortable sharing lawyer’s name and contact info? I am planning on doing the same and I would truly appreciate your help.
  4. Pending with DOS since November 2021 (yes, 18 months!).
  5. No, I asked my lawyer about this and emphasized that I will get a new SON and start a fellowship with a different institution. He confirmed that that’s absolutely fine.
  6. Sorry to see that! Is your case spouse based? Or child based? May I ask what is the nature of your hardship? I really hope that you find a way to reverse this.
  7. Congratulations!! I cannot see the screenshot for some reason. Could you or anybody list the dates? please. I would truly appreciate it!!
  8. I’m also curious to know your DS2019 expiration date, is about to expire? I’m trying to figure out whether that has anything to do with the way they triage cases.
  9. Congratulations!!! Soooo happy for you! Waiting at DOS since 11/2021 and you gave me some much needed hope!
  10. Sorry to hear that! may I know your field and the basis for the waiver? Do you have a US citizen kids?
  11. Yes, you’re eligible for DS2019 as long as DOS hasn’t issued a favorable recommendation yet.
  12. Whether you compare it to same nationality or different nationalities, everyone I know is hitting 12-16 months at the DOS. Again, being from Pakistan or not does NOT make any difference to them.
  13. I’m not from Pakistan and my application has been with DOS for 14 months. I know people from different nationalities and they all have been in a similar situation to ours. It’s a systemic problem, but has nothing to do with applicant’s origin.
  14. Actually you can renew DS2019 as long as DOS hasn’t approved your waiver yet. I went through this myself.
  15. Hey Robble42 Sorry to hear about your situation. I’ve been waiting since 11/21 for my waiver as well. AFAIK, CARRP is a USCIS thing, not DOS, but please let me know if you believe I’m wrong.
  16. I came across a hardship waiver case that was received by DOS (I-612) mid November and got approved last week. I hope this brings some hope to everyone (myself included!)
