  1. I personally did not; no. I’m not sure what communication happened between Goldstein and state department but something was communicated.
  2. My visa received clearance before the summons were even delivered. I’m not sure what happened but the lawyer said the embassy was working on my case before summons.
  3. My interview was February 7, lawsuit filed June 3, issued July 9 and crossed on July 13. I’m eternally grateful as my medical was set to expire later this month so the visa had the same expiration date. Be mindful of that if your medical is expiring soonish. You’ll have to cross quick. I went by the user JR_90 before switching. We tried to seek a reason for the DS5535 but went nowhere. Maybe the agent didn’t like the way I looked at them?
  4. Picked up my visa today. Clearance was given on June 22 and was issued July 8. I’m crossing on Wednesday. They attached a little sticker onto the passport saying to cross before July 27 — the day my medical expires — otherwise the visa will expire. No big deal for me, but that time crunch is pretty brutal.
  5. Absolutely. It’s set to arrive at the post office on Monday so I’ll pick it up Tuesday. Flight booked for Wednesday morning.
  6. They started working on my case on the 15th and summons and deadlines were set on June 22. Seems the notifications of the case was enough to get them to work on it.
  7. I have a government of Canada security clearance, NATO clearance, and have ITAR clearance with the United States government and still got hit. It makes no sense at all. British born, in Canada since 98, and only travelled to the USA in the last 15 years.
  8. June 3 filed, June 15 case updated to received, June 16 refused, June 19 asked for my passport back, June 30 passport delivered and put into administrative processing, issued July 8. I believe this is my lawsuit timeline. Going off memory but I believe that’s accurate.
  9. My fiancé had to leave the general K1 visa group on Facebook because of how many clear fraudulent cases were being issued while we were being processed DS5535. The 19 year old marrying the 70 year old American sounds totally legit. It’s a disgrace.
  10. To be very blunt, if you’re stuck in DS5535 at Montreal, you have very few options besides a lawsuit. The embassy has had a WOM surge in June 2022 which means prioritizing court imposed deadlines. There is a spreadsheet somewhere in here with all of the current DS cases at Montreal and how little action has been taken on non-lawsuit cases. We have folks in here who have been waiting since late-2021 for any sign of movement on their cases. I believe the last issued visa we’re aware of that wasn’t lawsuit related was March? I might be wrong.
  11. Without giving away too much personal information, my record is as clean as you can get and have governmental clearances but share a surname with an American white nationalist. In my mind, my career (government related) or my last name triggered the DS5535.
  12. Goldstein. Would recommend. Yes, you have two meetings prior to signing and filing.
  13. I interviewed on February 7 with DS5535 sent the same day. We filed WOM on June 3rd. K1 visa.
  14. My application got an update yesterday and today has changed from Refused to Application Received. Ahhh, what does this mean!?
