  1. I would say, that it is not legal. Don't you know anyone that can be the co-sponsor, that meets the poverty guidline, without offering them money to do so?

i wish i knew someone, I am pretty much a loner. and my closest family has financial trouble

by the way how do you find out if you meet the poverty guidline?

a lawyer told me I had to be making 22,000$ for the last 3 years with tax records to prove

The lawyer is wrong. If you can provide evidence that your current income is sufficient, then you qualify to sponsor your fiance(e). It's good to provide three years tax returns but not required unless you are self employed. Even then, there may be ways around it.

Start by reading the instructions for the I-134 affidavit of support, then come back with any specific questions. The income requirement depends on how many people are in your household and your State of residence. See here:

happy i came to this forum that goes to show you not to take 1 opinion even if hes considered a professional

so if i just show some pay checks with my charts of hours worked i will qualify?

You still need to show proof that you filed the last 3 years tax returns. Usually the last year is the one that is most important.

how about working two jobs or whatever you have to do to earn the money you need to qualify? Just a thought.

You're too humble. From another thread though, it sounds lie Astral makes enough money to qualif as sponsor but some stupid attorney led him to believe he needed three years of tax returns to prove it. Of course, if he's self employed, he might actually need three years of tax returns but there are other forms of evidence that can be used.

Hey are you saying if i can prove i make 25$ hourly that I will qualify?

he told me if i dont have 3 years of tax return that i have 0% chance

**Edit**Tax returns of at the very least 22,000 a year

    what did pushbrk just say?

does he mean i may actually qualify myself to do that?

i have just recently got work again, was off work awile from injuries and worked a few months last year at 20$ an hour and then 25$ an hour toward the end of the job

now i am being paid 25$ hourly for past 2 months

  6. so it is legal or illegal for the us citizen to offer money to get a co-sponsor? because the us citizen doesnt know anyone close enough to just co sponsor

i am just despirate to bring this woman to america to live with me

but do not want to do something to get myself in trouble

It would probably be considered a bribe like PaulineA said, which isn't legal...

ok i am happy I asked before trying this then

    thank you
