    Hi All,

My wife sponsored me for an IR-1 visa back in 2019. My case became Documentarily Qualified on October 28th 2020 and is pending Interview at the US Consulate in Islamabad, Pakistan. I understand there is a backlog of cases everywhere, is there a way to find out which month of DQ'd cases the Islamabad Consulate is processing right now? Alternatively, members here at Visa Journey who have recently had immigration interviews at the US Consulate in Islamabad, when were your respective cases Documentarily Qualified? I am trying to get an idea of when I could realistically have my interview scheduled.

    Regards,

My DQ is Oct 28th so I don't know. The embassy sends out Interview Letters 20th - 24th of every month for the next month. You can join the group mentioned above to see but as of 20th August 2021, DQ cases until 9th September 2020 were scheduled for the month of September 2021. Interview Letters for October 2021 have not been sent out yet so we will see which dates they cover. Most likely they will only cover remaining 3 weeks of DQ'd cases from September 2020. Based on that timeline, your case could be scheduled for Interview in November or December but this is all just speculation.

I have a friend whose wife was dq in Jun 2020. She had an interview in Isl in Jul 2021. Hopefully yours should be there in the next 2-3 months.

Thank you for the suggestion. I don't quite think it is time for a lawsuit because there are extenuating circumstances with the pandemic and backlog. If it goes 14-18 months without an interview appointment then I would consider it but hopefully it will get resolved before that.

Yes, that's how I see it too. The monthly visa backlog reports are helpful but it would be nice to just know where my case is in the queue and how much longer I need to wait.

Thank you I have joined it.

Overall, thank you for your insights everyone. I appreciate them
