  1. Hi everyone,

I realized I made a mistake while completing my DS-160 and only included my most recent employer, and not all my employers over the last five years. Unfortunately I am unable to edit it, and I have my interview next week. Is this going to be an issue? I’m hoping I don’t get a 221g, but I’m worried that will be the case.

    What can I do?

  2. Hi everyone,

I finally received my K1 visa interview date, and it’s for January 20th. However, it looks like montreal is planning on implementing a curfew/lockdown.

Will this means my interview will get cancelled? Has anyone had their interview during the previous curfew?

    What are my options?

I’m trying not to panic, but my anxiety is through the roof. I’m going on 18 months in this process….

  3. Good morning everyone,

I am just writing to enquire about an update regarding the Montreal consulate. Does anyone know if the Montreal consulate has taken K1 visa cases from the NVC at all this month? I’ve been checking the backlog spreadsheet as well as viewing timelines on here and I haven’t seen any recent updates.

Unfortunately I don’t use Facebook so I can’t view the Montreal K1 visa page there. Like many others, we have been waiting a long time - since April 27 (our NOA2) - and it has been frustrating.

Is there a specific thread for the Montreal consulate on this forum?

Sorry to be asking so many questions, but I feel like I’m just searching for scraps of information.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  4. Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but I've been reading some conflicting information online.

I'm currently in the K1 process and waiting for an interview at the Montreal consulate. For the last two years, I've worked at one of the most busiest organizations in Canada that has a lot of direct involvement with Covid-19. As a result of this, and the delays/stresses of the K1 process, I've become very burnt out and depressed. To top it off, my fiancé left today after visiting for a week, and I am absolutely broken. I don't have a family doctor, and would likely have to go to the emergency room to get a note to take sick leave from work.

However, I am concerned that taking this leave could impact my eligibility to receive a K1 visa. Is there any truth to this concern, or am I just better to suck it up and continue as is?

    Any help is appreciated.

I understand I was just wondering if anyone had a recent time frame for theirs because NVC told me 2 weeks

Hi, I submitted my expedite request on July 28 and received a response on Monday. However, I emailed the consulate directly last week and they responded within a couple days with a denial. But, the NVC notified me on Monday and the consulate in Montreal requested more information, so. Idk what is going to happen.

At one point k1 visa were way behind cr1 by a few months Montreal did a big push and got threw tons of cases. K1 Dq dates for Jan feb getting interviews while cr1 just got threw nov. I’m dq Jan 2021 and if I’m lucky may get an interview for this year. April Dq dates in cr1 have months tonwait prob about 6 months

Ahh, makes sense. I’m a K1 filer and based upon that spread sheet I’m thinking my interview may be at the end of this year. Thanks for your response and best of luck to you and your spouse.

We all have been asking that question for a year now and yet no one knows. We can only guess k1 got a big push a few months  back clearing a few months of backlog so now all family based interviews are around sept oct months Dq date. It may seem like no one got interviews but remember only a few ppl sign up on here or post. We seen it with the numbers for cr1s.

As for cases at nvc .... they did put out a short but sweet notice that they will b slowing down Dq dates to help with the backlog at consulates. In turn causing more backlogs in different areas. That being said nvc in swimming in backlogged cases from all visa categories so it seems they are being slower. I got my notice in 1-2 days but that was now almost 1-2 years ago.

If you don’t mind, could you clarify your comment on the push of K1 visas?

I’ve been looking at the spreadsheet for the MTL consulate, and it seems like late Jan/early Feb NOA2s are getting their interviews scheduled.

My NOA2 was on April 27, and I’m thinking I might have my interview by end of this year. This process has been really hard so I’ve been searching the internet everywhere for information, lol.

    NOA1: August 6, 2020

    NOA2: February 19, 2021.

I'm hoping I'm in the next batch sent to the embassy, they sent some cases with NOA2 in early Feb a couple of weeks ago. Thought maybe our case would be sent this week, but no such luck. Do what you will with this info lol. MTL is taking their sweet time. I'm hoping I can move before the end of the year, or at least have an interview scheduled.

I noticed that too. I think if our cases process normally it will be the end of this year or early next year like you said. However, I sent an expedite request directly to the Montreal consulate on Monday and they received it yesterday so I’m praying it gets approved. Best of luck to you guys! I know this process sucks haha

At first, sorry for my English :) Can somebody tell me if date which they put on their website ( January) is it true or ? Because here on visajourney I can see a lot of cases from February, march even April.. what's going on here ?

My case was filed on July 20, 2020 and was approved on April 27, 2021. Now I’m waiting for an interview at the Montreal consulate but everything is so backlogged.

Have you sent on the deployment orders?

    Yep.

He’s returned from a deployment back in mid March, and is expected to leave any day now. So I sent his active duty orders off.

I’ve seen others get approved with less, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

I’d just like a response, lol. This wait has been hard on m6 mental health, lol.

    Hey guys,

I got my 129-F approval on July 15th! Finally!

    NOA1 was August 27 2020.

I’m  wondering if anyone has an estimate on how when I can expect an interview date at the MTL embassy?

I’m trying to plan my life lol (aren’t we all?).

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi,

    I’m in a similar situation.

    NOA1: July 20, 2020

    RFE: February 18, 2021

    NOA2: April 27, 2021

And I’m still waiting for an interview at the Montreal consulate. Apparently it’s taking upwards of 8 months between the NOA2 and interview. 😢

    NVC?

Is your I-129F approved?  Typically NVC denies expedite requests for K1 because, by it's nature, the I-129F is expedited.  It is better to contact the embassy and ask them to expedite.  If they approve, they will inform the NVC to send your case to them in the next diplomatic package.

Yes, it was approved on April 27, 2021. I spoke to someone at the NVC in late July and they told me I could file an expedite request.

My case has been at the NVC now for about four months.

  13. Hey guys,

I filed an expedite request on July 28. My fiancé is an active duty member of the military, and I saw a few others get approval for this. Now I’m not sure whether or not my request gets approved, but I figured I’d give it a shot.

However, it’s now been 6 weeks since the request and tomorrow is the 30th business day. What are my next steps if I don’t hear anything back by Friday morning? Will calling the NVC help? Send an another email that will go the bottom of the pile?

    I appreciate any help.

  14. Hello everyone,

I am writing for some guidance. I filed my K1 application in July 20, 2020 and was approved as of April 27, 2021. Since then it’s been at the NVC - I have a case number and ID, only because I called them. I was wondering if I should go ahead and file those forms (e.g. DS260 etc.) online or do I wait for contact from the embassy in Montreal?

I also filed an expedite request as my fiancé came back recently from a deployment, and is active duty.

    Any help is appreciated.
