HI folks I am going on 22-sep-2007 again to embassy, on 15-sep-2007 I appeared in the interview but was lacing some documents and they told me to send them the documents and passport via mail no need to come in person, but if you want to you can come and submit your documents and passport.

On 15-sep-2007 they interviewed me and asked me provide them Proof of Relationship, orginal Divorce Decree my Liquid Asset coz they said that my wife's income is not sufficent anyways all set and again appearing in the interview on 22-sep-2007 saturday.

DO you have any idea how much time they take to decide to grant the visa or not.....

I am very much hope ful that they will grant me the visa...

I went to the kingston website and it stated that all NIV had to scedule their own appointment. I scheduled and appointment for Oct 24, 2007. NVC said they do not show my fiance scheduled for the appointment. What do I do? Do i keep the appointment or should I cancel. Does the embassy schedule the appointment for the interview or do we. Also Delvan recieved his packet three but it was just a letter telling him to put his name on everything he sends them. I had him go to the embassy and turn in his DS230 form. What do we do now? Any ideas please help.

Welcome to VJ. You have joined a very resourceful group and will get good advice and guidance. Make you you read the guides, and follow them as the information posted there is from people who have gone on this journey.

To answer your question. If you file for a K-1, as I see from your timeline, your SO will be sent two packages that will give hime precise instructions as to what to do and when to do it. Appointment for your type of visa petition is scheduled by the embassy after you case file is complete.

The only time a NIV appointment is made by the applicant is when they applying without someone petitioning for them.

I hope that is clear. Other members on VJ can clarify this for you. I have not actully gone through the process, but have read the guides and posts extensively and have sort of an idea what happens.

The clarification I would offer is that although the K1 is a non immigrant visa, it is adjudicated by the immigrant visa unit. It is customary for the applicant to be notified of their interview appointment by the Consulate by mail. Perhaps somebody familiar with Kingston specifically can confirm the appointment method for K visas in Kingston.

You do not need a social security number to get married. Use the alien registation number. That is what the marriage license says.

I have a similar question, do we schedule the appointments for our fiances or does the embassy. Is the I129F a immigrant visa or a non immigrant visa. I scheduled an appointment however, I am not sure if it is valid. Can anyone help me. I am going through the embassy in Kingston Jamaica.
