  2. Still nothing :( In 5 days it will be 6 months...Soooo beyond fed up with USCIS!!!

    Hi,

I couldn't help my curiosity I noticed in your timeline that you filled N-400 for citizenship. Are you counting 3years(-90 days) from the date you got you green card or from the day of marriage. I believe the true counting of 3 years for citizenship start from the date we get the green card, please someone correct me if i am wrong.

    Thanks

  3. Hi everyone,

I also just want to thank envy for the great updating and maintaining this September list

My wife just had her interview on Mars 24th at Buffalo. The interview lasted 5 min and was very smooth. We took the oath, and the officer asked for my passport as proof of citizenship, then went through the I-485 verifying the personnel info and the questionnaires. He didn’t ask me any question; all the answers were directed to my wife. Then took the I-94 paper from her passport and stamp it with the I-551 permanent residency valid for one year.

I was carrying a load of documents and proofs, he didn’t ask for anything beside the passports.

My case status didn't change, it still stating "case receive and pending" smile.gif so don't rely much on that system.

We spent the rest of the day at the Niagara Falls Canadian side (yes it was ok to get there with the I-551 stamp).

    Best wishes to everyone

  5. Hi all,

I am not sure if i am the exception here but since i sent my application I485 on late September 08 and took the biometrics, there was only one update (probably because of my address change) on 12/10/08. My case is not transferred yet, i called the USCIS and they inform me that it's the local offices that request the cases from NBC and the NBC can't send them without that request ?!, is there any truth to that ? is there anyone out there with the Buffalo local office still waiting there?

    Thanks for any help

  6. Thank you all for the reply and thanks Sandrila for the details. I hope your AP waiting will be over soon.

I guess I will just apply for AOS here and money wise it will be less expensive than travelling back for CR1. My only reason for seeking the CR1 visa is the Permanent resident status you get right away and as my wife is planning to go to college there is a lot of money at stake between resident and non resident. So I guess I just have to put up with that extra cost for one or two semester and go the AOS way

Thanks again for all the help

  7. Hi all,

I need your help VJs. I got a K3 visa a month ago and I am currently in the US, My CR1 interview has been scheduled for October 23th. I am thinking about going back home for the interview to get the CR1 visa, which I know is far better than the K3, and will save me the hassle of AOS. My worry is that they may cancel my K3 visa during the interview and a worse scenario of having to deal with the AP.

Does any one had or know about a similar situation, is it a common process to cancel an already given K3 visa during the interview or not?

Also do you know if I have to take the medical exam for the new CR1 interview knowing that I just had one for the K3 visa two months ago.

Note that my case is very simple; I have no financial worries or any special circumstances, just the worry from a bad consular officer.

    Thanks for the help

  8. Mine Was fixed today and now it shows paid in both invoice and receipt tabs. Just called again and they said it shows paid in their system too, just waiting for them to change the AVR message and complete the case.

Did you call on 7/8/2008 and asked to talk to a supervisor? I called on 7/9/2008 morning and the operator told me that he would request to assess the situation and should have something in 10 to 15 business days. On 7/15/20008 (this morning), I talked to an operator again and it still showed UPPAID (the payment didn't go through) and the operator asked me to wait for 10 to 15 business days. I can't even log in to the online payment system anymore. So I just have to wait a few more days and call back later. Can you tell me how exactly your phone call conversation went? Thank you!

well i got the same generic answer of wait 2 to 3 weeks, but i kept calling till i found an operatort that realy looked at the problem and told me that it shows payed in one system and not payed on the other, he asked me to wait, called another department, and told me the problem will be fixed. I checked in the evening and it shows payed. I think you just need to find the right operator who has knowledge of what to do and is willing to put an effort beyond locking at the screen and repeating the case status as in AVR.

  9. So is your problem already fixed? I called twice, last Wednesday and this morning, both times was told that I need to wait 10 to 15 business days. Our case have been in NVC since middle April and I'm slowly losing patience.

  10. It's nice that you noticed that the invoice said "UNPAID". Somehow I thought I saw PAID for both invoice and receipt. Anyhow now the invoice page is UNPAID. I didn't know the payment wasn't connected until they received my parents DS-230 (in one big envelope) and the status in the voice system for both my parents are different. I guess we just have to patiently wait and see what they can do for us. BTW, what did operator tell you about this?

Call the NVC and be persistant with Operator (try a different one if it does not work) but they will their supervisor who will in turn call the right Department in NVC and will get it fix for you.

    Good luck

  11. I did the same thing payed the IV bill online on 07/07, on 07/08 it shows paid on the receipt tab but "NOT PAID" on the invoice tab. The money is deducted from my checking account. I called NVC a couple time since 07/08 and still their system shows as unpaid. I was able to print the DS230 barcode cover sheet and i did send the package but now I am worried the package will not be processed timely.

Any one had similar issue and was able to solve it please help.

    thanks

  12. Hi, I just got the K3 interview scheduled for my wife on July 28th. That was good news to reached this stage of the process, the downside is that our weeding ceremony will be on July 27th and there is no way we will make it to the embassy the next day?

    Sorry but you lost me.!

Are you saying you aren't married yet but have a K3 interview??

:) I know it's a little confusing, we were married last summer, it just we didn't have enough time for the cermony. this summer is when all the familly get together for an official celebration :):D

  13. Hi, I just got the K3 interview scheduled for my wife on July 28th. That was good news to reached this stage of the process, the downside is that our weeding ceremony will be on July 27th and there is no way we will make it to the embassy the next day?

I need to postpone the interview date and I am worried postponing it will result in too much delay or any other unforeseen troubles. Anyone had similar situation or know about how flexible there are postponing interview dates and whether they pick the new date or we get to choose?

There is no mentioning -in the Packet 3- for the affidavit of support form (I-134), pay stub or any thing from the petitioner side, I found that unusual, I will send her the AOS document anyway but was wondering should they be sent to the consulate with the other document or brought to the interview ?

Thanks in advance for any help

  14. We had been advised to file for both to see which would come faster and that we could choose which route to go depending on this. Since the I-130 is coming along quickly it is more convenient to stay on that path. The k3 interview came as a surprise, we are not prepared to travel to Juarez on the interview date. Should I just call the consulate to cancel it? I just don't want to do anything to effect the I-130.

I would be better if you call the US Consulate and try to postpone it to a date closer to the CR1 interview date.

  15. Yes, after losing all hope and suffering painfully for 9 months, I finally got the magic CRIS emails indicating the approval of 3 petitions I-129 F, my first I-130 and my second I-130 all at once. (Second I-130 sent in desperation)

Now I am wondering what will be forwarded to the NVC and what’s not. please Any one who got both petition approved at the VSC let me know what happened so I can be prepared, and how to keep both track (K3 and CR1) going in parallel ?

Good luck to all of you who are still waiting, I guess this is hope after all

  16. Guys, NVC site where you pay the AOS bill is down for 4 days … now I paid the AOS bill yesterday and waiting for it to be cleared so I can download the coversheet … but unfortunately is down … so my question is does both coversheet looks the same ?? James Shortcut vs downloadable NVC one ??

check this thread, i hope it'll help

  17. Congratulations to both of you Dave / Bob& hazel.

I feel my turn is coming, i have similar timeline to Dave, I-130 recieved on 9/11/07 with no touch since 02/24/08.

I hope to hear good news by next week. My weeding ceremony is scheduled July26, so if i am very very lucky (which I start to doubt :) with uscis) we'll be back together to the US in mid August.

Thanks to all of you VJs for updating us with good news (and bad news as well, it help clarify things)

    Abdou

  18. My husband also spoke to someone from Vermont and that person told him that I-130 gets approved faster if you filed I-129F along with it.

Looking at the approvals timeline for CR1/IR1 and K3, i guess it's the opposite, it's faster if you don't file I-129 along with I-130. And lately(for Auguest filers and up), VSC is canceling all I-129 for K3 visa.
