  1. I am asking all to forgive my ranting in advance. I'm trying to be calm about this, but I am missing the love of my life, just like alot of us are, it's christmas time, when we should be spending it with those we love and care about. Peter and I have not even reached our 6 months yet, but yes one more month and we are there. It is very stressful for everyone on VJ, and we can either be part of the problem or part of the solution as I see it. We have watched people all around our filing date approved, we're waiting patiently, and missing each other. We have watched August filiers get approved while May and June are still waiting.

You called your congressman because you were impatient, or worried that your application would get lost and sit on an adjucators desk. Did you happen to mention to them, Oh by the way, I know I haven't reached my 6 months yet, but I have read alot about these people that have, and they have been waiting since May or June? I would really like it if you would ask them to make sure that the new employee's are given the backlog before they start on the boxes that have August or September in them? That would have been the right thing to do, then you could have ensured that maybe things could be fixed, and the proper order would resume as it should.

I don't think you calling your congressman, was the reason you were approved so quickly because we all know already they are working out of order. I do think maybe you calling your congressman would have been beneficial to everyone had the above been done. I can't say the thought hasn't crossed my mind to call mine, I've also thought about calling some invetigative reporters on television shows, to address the issue. The problem with just me calling is just that, one person calling will not make a big difference, but if we are all calling with the same information, the same requests, to look at the processing times out of order, not at our specific case if we are within the time limit, then I believe they will have to address the issue. I want to do this because I don't want them going out of order, VSC already knows they are doing it, but what I see is that they are not fixing it. The system is broken, they rose the fee's, they knew there would be a mass quantity of applications arriving before the fee's changed. They had ample time to address those issues prior to the fee being raised, and they didn't. Thus we now have backlogs, applications lost, applications that were sent by one center to another, to be lost, then found, then sent to a different center.

It's a catch 22, but maybe if we actually start doing this, all of us, not for our own personal cases, but simply for the reason of telling the gov't that yes, we are going by the rules, but they aren't. It's broke, they know, and they aren't going to fix it unless some heat is really put on them. Calling one at a time for our own case, only makes them look at our case, and make those STILL waiting, wait even longer. We need to have them look at the numbers that are being processed out of order, make sure they pull those boxes and give them the backlogs that are currently sitting on desks. Then and only then, do I think we have a chance at making a difference. (Not everyone who files a K1 is on VJ, although they should be) So just imagine the numbers that really are being processed out of order, imagine the number of May and June filiers who are still waiting.

I'm happy that you got approved BUT I have to say it hurts, it hurts alot when we watch how they are going out of order, and while you are fortunate that it happened, it really should have been an approval for a May or June filier.

In the meantime, I will be happy for anyone that is approved, it is what each of us wants, and it is not from our making that it is going out of order, but please don't call your congressman and ask them to look at your case unless you have passed the 6 month time frame, because in the big picture it hurts all of us.

i cant not beleive it, im still looking at the email i got from Cris. Finally after 233 days, thats the best x-mas gift ever!!! Thank you all for the support and prayers!!

    Congratulations to you!!!!!!

I read the updates each day, and while waiting for ours, I've actually been getting upset wanting all of you May and June filiers to get yours! I know the frustration right now that you must have felt being happy and excited for everyone in your date range to be approved but patiently trying to wait for yours. Here's hoping that VSC wishes all of us a Merry Christmas by approving them tomorrow!!!

  3. So that raises the question, will they decide to do a "half-way" job for the wage cut, or start moving slower, and we will see less approvals coming through?

It seems very odd that they raise the fee's under the guise that it will allow for a more productive process, as well as to add additional employee's, and yet they are lowering the salaries.

  4. I am completely excited, yet feeling a bit guilty to post this... but...

  5. Our Case Status Online system, processing times, and Change of Address Online system will be out-of-service for system upgrades from 9:30 PM Eastern time Friday December 7 until approximately 8:00 PM Monday December 12. In addition, our Search engine and Naturalization Self-Test will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance on Sunday, Dec. 9 from midnight to 6 AM

Wait, does it say that? Monday is December 10, not 12.

I copied it right off of there website....but that does not surprise me since they do not seem to know the order of the months or how many days there are in 6 months

    ^ LOL

I wonder if this will be one of their updates. Please note as you read this that I was logged in under the "Customer Account." I think they are tired of me checking for a change, if they would just approve and give the NOA2, I wouldn't keep checking so much :innocent: Luckily this happened a few days ago, and I was able to access it from home that evening.

It was reported to us that your IP address or internet gateway has been locked out for a select period of time. This is due to an unusually high rate of use. In order to avoid this issue please take this opportunity to create a Customer account (single applicant) or a Representative account (representing many individuals, such as lawyers, charitable groups, or corporations). Each account allows you to generate a Portfolio of receipt numbers. Building a portfolio containing your receipt number(s) eliminates your need to manually enter the receipt number and extract each case status. You will automatically be emailed changes to each case as updates occur. This email notification will occur within 12 to 24 hours of any progress made for every receipt number contained in your portfolio. There is no lockout feature associated with your portfolio and there is no wasted time on your part checking a receipt number where no advancement has been made.

  6. Howdy Everyone. Once again today, I thought I was going blind. Like last night's touch that led me to question my eyesight, the email this morning again made me do the same. My approval came in. Finally. Finally. Finally.

I am hoping, wishing and praying that this is a trend for us long waiters and that this step will be complete for all of us very, very soon.

I am off to work now where I cannot write to the forums but I am hoping for all of you.

    Ciao!!!

    Congratulations

I hope we will follow shortly. All this waiting is driving me nuts

  7. I hit a curb with my left front tire and not only bent the rim but also cracked it. A new rim for the truck was about $600 around here. I found this great place on the Internet based in Minnesota that sold me the same new rim for $209 delivered. Did I mention that California is a huge rip off

It sounds like today was not your day. I hope things only get better for you :)

  8. Gratz to everyone that has been approved this month!!! I have realized that alot of approvals are going on right now at the VSC for July, and I just cannot seem to stay away from USCIS website.

It's so depressing at times wondering if it will ever happen, I login to check case status, and then I'm almost afraid to look. Then I peek at it and no changes :crying: It's so frustrating right now, and I know we have not even been waiting as long as some of you have. How do you all keep your sanity?

  9. USCIS will go by your received date with regards to processing your petition. So they'll be using your July date, not the notice date. Best of luck to you!

Well, that's good to know. I still won't get my hopes up for a Christmas present, though.

It's barely within the realm of possibility, but yeah, I wouldn't get my hopes up either.

It would be an absolutely wonderful Christmas present though. At least we know they are getting nearer to our dates, and I do so wish everyone on here waiting a quick and speedy processing time.

  10. Although I have been a lurker on the forum for some time now, and have found all of the information you all provide to be invaluable, I find myself with questions concerning the receipt date and the actual NOA1 date. I am hoping that perhaps some of you may have run into this same problem or could shed some light on the topic. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The received date on the NOA1 does show July 28, 2007, with a Notice date of August 21, 2007. This was due to the deluge of of applications received by the service centers at that time I am sure.

My confusion with this is that if I login to the on-line case status, which I do at least 30 times a day, it shows they received it on August 21, 2007.

Soooo, which one is VSC going by?

Thanks again for all of the information everyone has shared on this site!!

well i know when i call, they tell me they are going by the notice date.. so it seems that they will go by the august 21, 2007 date.. so even though they received it before july 30th, which is a good thing(lower fee), the actual date they are going by is august 21st.. they said 6 months on the website, then you should know whether or not you are approved.. sometimes, it's sooner.. that is their guesstimation date of course... i had to stop calling because it was depressing for me to hear the same date over and over again of when i got the notice :( .. anyway, i hope this will help.. God bless

Thank you so much for your reply. I guess what is concerning me is that on the USCIS Application and Receipting Update site this is what is stated:

"Date Received in Mailroom – USCIS will honor the actual date that an application was received in our mailroom; this date will be indicated on the receipt (in the Received Date box) when Form I-797, Notice of Action, is mailed. You can see a sample Form I-797 under "Related Links" on this page. If your case is affected by the receipt delay, arrival of your receipt may take up to 12 weeks for adjustment-of-status applications and 15 weeks for naturalization and other applications.

Weekly updates on Receipting – Until this situation is resolved, USCIS will provide these weekly updates on progress in issuing receipt notices to our customers. Additional information is available in Frequently Asked Questions, located under "Related Links" on this page."

I have asked our attorney as well about it and he states it should be the July 28, 2007, however he stated that the August 21, 2007 is the date of notice of receipt being issued. I will need to contact him again today because I would like him to contact the service center to find out why it is not changed, and hopefully to have them change it or better yet have them take a look at our application and hopefully start working on it....
