  1. I am having a hard time finding information on this topic online so I decided to try to get answers here, but I apologize if this is not the correct place to post this. I am a USC petitioning for a spouse visa for my husband of 3 years, who is living abroad. We are currently awaiting to be DQ'd at NVC. I'm living with my parents in the US since I am pregnant and will need their hands-on support once my baby is born, which will be soon! Less than 8 weeks! The problem is, my parents are landlords and have recently started an eviction against a problem-tenant. In an effort to stall or gain favor from the court, the tenant in turn has filed restraining orders on all three of us for violence and harassment against him. My question is will having a restraining order against me affect my husband's visa process in any way? Will they be doing a background check on me at NVC, DOS (consulate), or CBP (port of entry)? If so, can this be held against my husband? Could he be rejected or can I get my petitioning privileges taken away from me? I suppose I also want to know the same if this order ends up escalating and he is able to get some charges on us from the court. Don't know if it's possible or if he even will try that but hypothetically if there were charges that went thru, I want to know the effects of that too. Thank you in advance for any information and insights on the matter!
