  1. Good morning all,

Congratulations on your approvals. I am so sorry that you had to experience that. We are their customers. If we didn't pay for this process they wouldn't have a job. Inconsiderate buttholes.

I didn't have that experience when I called. The "first" time I called NVC the first thing the lady did was give me my case number.

Heck I think it was NVC. I also called DOS and the lady that assisted me was very nice. The last time I called DOS after four times the young man gave me my fiance interview date.

Try again and PRAY that you will get someone that is kind and considerate while you are on hold.

    God Bless

  2. Hello Everyone,

Be informed that if he does not receive the instruction packet at least four weeks before that date, Please ask beneficiary to come to the US Consulate, Lagos in any day except Friday, and join the inquiry line by 11.00 am to pick up the instruction packet. He will have to come with a copy of this e-mail and the Notice of Approval.

  3. Fiance: Oyo State Nigeria

    Myself: Georgia

Hey my family lives all over the Atlanta area. My mom is in Stone Mountain. Bassi already knows that he wants to live there and not in Upstate NY. I think the snow and ice storms may have something to do with it.....

My girlfriend lives in Stone Mountain beautiful area. My home is further south close to Albany GA. I am living in Northern VA now.

    God Bless

We are both Bendelites- Him (Edo state) Me (Delta & Bayelsa states)

Him- lived in Benin, currently lives in Abuja

Me- lived in Ibadan, currently live in NY

Was that too much info :D

    Hello Osakeme,

Small world. My fiance lives in Ibadan.

  4. I was reading different things in Nairaland just to amuse myself and I came across something an Irish lady wrote about being married to a Nigerian. She was giving advice on how to make a marriage work between a Nigerian and a white lady.

There have been similar discussions in here about things of this nature, nothing quite this extreme, thought i'd get your opinions on it. I don't think it has to pertain to a Nigerian man being married to a white woman per se, but an African man married to a Western woman.

There is some good in it but there's some things in here I just can't tolerate.

"tell you how to make it work I am an irish lady married to a nigerian man for four years now. I say learn about his culture, don't get impregnated before marrige, ask of his families and hope they are all well, respect him, cook his food for him and hand it to him, make sure the place is very clean at all times, give him sex when he wants it, don't ask him lots of questions about his whereabouts, don't let him catch you looking in his phone, don't nag him, treat him like a king and you will have a marriage made in heaven."

".. my dear they are not known to be romantic (thats not to say he doesn't love you though) they are macho a bit like some south american men also. Therefore they are not 'soft' men like the white man who believe in candle lit dinners and caressing and hugging and kissing in public. Nigerian men are raised to be very strong men unlike white men who will jump to the white womans beck and call. Thats not to say they are not good men. They have difficulty in being romantic (unless they really have to be) becasue being romantic might damage their strong male super ego. They like to be the head of the family also and are raised to be the breadwinners of the family but plenty of nigeiran ladies work also nowawdays. If I were you I would not question him about the romance bit. You must have a religion and take all of your children to place of worship keep em interested, dress up, stay slim, change your hairstyle, don't raise your voice higher than your husbands. Don't disrespect him by 'jeering' him in front of his friends, don't comment on the size of his manhood or belly or speak openly about sex, Don't drink, don't smoke becuase he won't like that either. Don't challenge his decisions, goals, ambitions etc. Do not tell him 'no youre not going away on holidays without me' - let him go he knows were his matrimonal home is Grin. Do not reiterate I AM YOUR WIFE your darling baby knows that. Do not ask him to change diapers. Do not ask him to wash dishes, esp in front of other men. Do NOT be domineering. Do not talk too much. make sure the hallway is clear for him when he enters home .."

WOW! I need to cancel my wedding plans. Dang and I have a lovely dress and the wedding planner was free. Boo hoo

  5. Good morning all,

Hope all is well this morning. I will attach three years of tax returns (dang) fortunately I am well above the guidelines. Thank God I don't need a sponsor, I wouldn't know who to ask.

Like Efia said, co-signer for husband. Still haven't gotten over that one.

    Hakeem and Constance

  6. I haven't ever heard of that. You either meet the limit or you don't. If you're concerned, you can always get a co-sponsor. That could help you feel more secure.

I would be embarrased to have to get a co-signer for my car, let alone my husband  But thankfully my sister-in-law offered just in case but Im close to the guildline this year but if they dont raise a fuss about being close then I guess we will be ok. Thanks :)

    Hi Efia,

Thanks for making me laugh. I feel you on that. Co-signer for the husband, too funny. It's good that you have someone to step in just in case.

I wish you all the blessing.

    Take care

    Constance.

  7. Hello Everyone,

And the paper work continues. I received my letter from BB&T but my credit union refused to do it. I am attaching a print out of all my deposit in that account, I simply did a search online for deposit only.

QUESTION: Should I attach tax returns for the I-134 or should that be when I file for AOS? Now it's getting complicated. :help: :help:

God Bless You all on your continued journey.

    Hakeem and Constance

  8. Hey guys, I was thinking of trying to call NVC either tonight or tomorrow.

I was just trying to get a feel for how easy it really is.

From what I've read it seems to be...call the number, hit the right prompts, give EAC number...and then that's it, right?

    I'm not sure.

I'm working up the courage to do the very same thing. I'm gonna try in the morning and see what happens. Hopefully, they won't bite my head off! I've been a really good girl and haven't called anyone at USCIS during this whole process. :innocent:

I only complained to the ombudsman via email!

both of you should call!!!!!!! they're not scary at all

im sure that they have your petitions by now...mine was recieved by them in 2 business days, and sent in another 2 business days

    CALL NOW!!!!! lol

Does everybody who got their approvals are on NVC or on the way to the embassies????

Do you all have your NOA2 hard copy? Just wondering...

My hardcopy should be here today or tomorrow...

    But i have a question:

Of those of you that have their petitions at NVC....Did ou get a TOUCH before it was sent but AFTER your approval????????????????????????/

    Hi Faith,

Congratulations on your approval. I never received a touch at all. The only update was 11/16 and it stated that I was approved 11/15. Guess that's a touch. :innocent: :innocent:

    Hi Mirla,

I was approved 11/15, my petition left NVC on 11/21 and arrived in Lagos on 11/27.

I have received the hard copy NOA2, I was home for Thanksgiving when I returned it was here. That time was between 11/20 to 11/25.

I hope that everything will work out in your favor with your resubmission of your RFE.

  10. Latest approval is another June filer:

    Donna & Steve (Steve_Donna). Sent 6/13. NOA1 6/15. Approved 12/3

Same dates as ours. I was approved 11/15. They really know how to piss people off. I called the 11/14 and was told that my file was not with an adjudicator that I was within the 6 months. I never received a touch nor an email. Checked on the 11/16 and there it was our approval dated 11/15.

It must be another way they are processing these petitions, it's apparent it's not by the receipt date.

Go figure.

Does anyone know what the NVC case number represent? I know that the LGS is Lagos and 2007 is the year, what about the other numbers?

Also, in completing the I-134 do I need to add all children to follow at a later date on this form, I included them on the I-129F. We don't know when they are going to join us but we wanted to know. You know we have to be careful.

  11. HEY!!!

Ya'll are so funny. I haven't been on this thread for a while, but here I am to announce that I've finally gotten an approval!!!!!!!!!!!! I got an email, so I'm still waiting for that piece of paper in the mail. Vermont isn't that far, maybe I should drive over and pick it up!

    Woooo Hoooooo!! :dance::dance::dance::dance::dancing::dancing:

Thank GOD!!! I'm so excited. I called Bassi and he screamed so loud, I think I went deaf! So now we're both screaming! Yippeeeee! It took 167 days but I feel so good right now I don't even care. I'm going to savor this for a bit before I think ahead to the Ghana embassy......

Talk to ya'll soon.....school's closed for a snow day today, so I'm trying keep a five year old busy and protect that cat from a five year old keeping busy. :o

    God Bless You All

    Hakeem and Constance.

  12. Heather sorry to say that this sounds all to familiar. IF YOUR HUSBAND IS TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM U . you can expect lots of disarray in your near future, with the results ending in him moving out. So sorry to say that many people that have been members in the past of this same forum, fell in love over the internet in such a short time then ran to Nigeria to meet their " true love "

Once bringing these men here and app;ying for their adjustment of statis or they receive their green card things seems to change , now th little arguments/ misunderstandings become blown up and the person that you brought here is no longer the same person. They become confrontative, secretivr, and manipulative towards u, u probably feel as tho he thinks your the enemy.

Trust me many that went thru the journey with me back in 2004 r no longer with their Nigerian husbands. NOT ALL but for many americans both women and men, it just a plot for us Americans to assist them in getting out of Nigeria; a total scam. Unfortunately for us Americans we don't find out that we've been scammed until it's too late, they r here have their green card and now ready to get out of this marriage and go their way.

You think that this Nigerian threats u like the enemy sometimes is because in their mind u r the enemy, they no that they have love or someone back home that they want to be with, and they r patient enough to do what's required to get to America, and if it means marrying u then so be it, they aren't afraid of marriage, and they know it's something that only temporary, and that they don't have to stay married once here in America.

Us Americans r too trusting and some Nigerians are too manipultive so u won't see it coming until they r ready to move on and end the marriage, But in the mean time you will have a great visit in Nigeria everyone will treat u with respect and you will be the only person that don't know he's just marrying u for visa benifits, heck his girlfriend/wife in Nigeria may be sitting in the room with you all being introduced as his cousin or someone.

I know cause it's happened to me and many friends that I met here on this site. So I just want too caution u all that if it seems to good to be tru and u found true love on the net from ANY other country it just may not be true, or it wait , it will be true for a period of time, cause they need u to sign for their papers. or to get them a visa to come into America.

Wow! Very interesting post. Where is Victor now?

  13. Question: Is there a way to track your petition after leaving NVC if you have the case number?

    Thanks

Im not sure how it is going through Nigeria...for example ...through Colombia i tracked it through DHL which is the courier that gets it to the embassy.

Thank you Bryon, I am very happy that Leidy is doing fine now. God is Good.

When you tracked it through DHL, did you use the new case number? I really appreciate your help.

Someone posted what the numbers meant, do you remember?

Thank you so very much Bryon.

  14. Hello Everyone and Congratulations to recent approvals. I have a question. I received my NOA2 (hard copy) in the mail and there is a number above my Hakeem's name, does anyone know what that number is and what it's for? It begins with an A

Thanking you in advance for your assistance.

    Constance

That is his A# (Alien Registration Number).

OMG!!! My Hakeem is an Alien..... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO How do I tell him that?

  15. Hello Everyone

Congratulations to all approved.

Thank you Franseth, I called the 202-663-1225. I was on hold for 3 minutes and the lady was extremely nice. She gave me my new case number and that my case has been loaded. She even explained "loaded". That means that the Lagos embassy has received the file electronically but not the physical copy of my petition.

Just wanted to share with you all.

  16. Ok Im starting to get very upset, worried, frustrated here. Many others after us have now been approved into mid JULY..a MONTH after our noa1!!!!!!!!!!! Many mid Junes are still unapproved..whats up with THAT? Are they just doing the "easy" ones? Or is just a FEW adjudicators working hard? Or are they just looking for ways to stay in service levels...?? Never mind that some of us have to wait even from MAY. What gives? How hard is it to work a case...and send out an noa2, rfe or give SOME sort of information?? Im getting soooooooooo frustrated with this entire process.

Me too! My family and friends keep asking what's going on, and I just have to tell them that I either don't know, or on my angrier days I tell them that my officer must be a lazy sod. I know they're busy, but ....

    We'll see. *crosses fingers*

I'd hoped I'd have some information for large family gathering tomorrow, but.. not going to get my hopes up on that one. <_<

By the way NONE Of the June 14th VJ filers have been approved yet that I remember

My receipt date was June 14th on my NOA1. We were approved 11/15/07.

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!!!!!

  17. Does the Nigerian embassy require DNA testing for accompanying children and if so, what is the cost? Hope someone can help me with this and share their experience. More money, more money.
