I am not tired of you, what are you talking about? I am merely making suggestions for you to get the instructions. Someone made the suggestions to get in touch with "Ara" who filed a K3, did you ask her? Did you check the K3 discussion forum, which may help also?

  3. hello one_love,

I'm a K1 filer, my fiance went to the embassy on Tuesday, January 15, 2007 with a copy of NOA2, letter from NVC and his passport. They gave him both packets 3, 4 and his interview date. Packets 3 & 4, he will take back with him on his interview date. I called the State Department as well, they told me that my fiance could not go and pick-up his packets, that we would have to be patient until they were mailed to his home address, which I found out from several people here that's wasn't true.

    Hope this help

    Good luck1

I too am a K-1 filer, my fiance picked his packets up on Wednesday, January 16 which included packets 3 and 4. I received an email from the embassy telling me that the packets were ready for my fiance to pick up. But like I said, I am a K-1 filer.

I know the song but was confused on the language. Thanks for letting me know that that is "jive talk". Whatever that is.

  5. Hi DJ

I thought the packages are sent from the Embassy. The state department only upload the information to the embassy and the hard copies sent from NVC. Are you sure the state department said they sent the package to your SO? That is kind of confusing. So I can understand your frustration.

I know that the DOS can give you the interview date once it's received at Lagos. From my experience, I called DOS and they gave me Hakeem interview date, only because the "hard copy" had been received from NVC in Lagos. Shortly after they gave me the interview date I received an email from the Embassy in Lagos stating the packages were ready for pickup and stating his interview date.

The embassy in Lagos are the only one that can schedule an interview.

    Hope that helps.

  6. That DHL tracking is a mystery to me. I've tried so many times and it never works. I've settled on just waiting for the embassy to contact my fiancee.

Here is what my snooping self found: there was a package that left NVC on 1/2/08 and it got to Bangkok on 1/5/08. There is also another that was sent on 1/7/08 and signed for in Bangkok on 1/10/08.

I am guessing your finacee should be hearing something soon :)

Can you tell me how to track the DHL packages?

    Hi Nicole,

I tracked mine by reference on the DHL website. I used this as my reference: example: EXP 14 JAN 2008A (use the date that it was mailed to the embassy) You will get many results scroll down until you see the embassy that your paperwork was sent.

    God Bless

  7. When you go to DHL website, track by reference type in: EXP 11 JAN 2008A then choose your date range.

If the package was mailed yesterday I would give it at least five days to be received by the US Consulate Lagos. I don’t think it would leave Portsmouth NH and be received in Lagos the next day. Once you see the results scroll down to see if a package has been received by the Consulate in Lagos. It’s a shot in the dark but all you can do is try.

i called them said it was being sent eletoncally today 01/11/08 mailed out will take about 5 days also received email thta it was sent out.. SO once its eletroncally in system can he go to get packet if it hard copy has not got there ye t i told him wait till next thursday why you not been on r u mad at me??

    Hi DJ,

Hope all is well with you. No I am not upset with you, why would you think that. I've been trying to get my documents in order, dealing with my "grown" children, and work busy with year end closing and renewals. Talking about needing "another" vacation.

We are getting close to our interview and I am trying to make sure that Hakeem has everything that he will need. I am sending the paperwork he needs tomorrow for his interview. After that I can rest, this process is so stressful.

I will log on when I get to work tomorrow (1/14) and I will assist you with tracking. It will get there DJ, I know how anxious you are for Friday to be here, we all know the feeling. I will be on tomorrow from 7am to 3:30pm. If you need my assistance look for me then.

    Chat with then

  9. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am so happy for you. Thanks for sharing your questions, I've jotted them down for Hakeem. He is getting ready for his interview. He called this morning at 4:30 am (my time) asking questions. I think he's getting worried now.

I can imagine your excitement, by the Grace of God I will experience it soon.

Keep in touch neighbor

    Again thanks for sharing.

  10. Throughout the 90's I was an avid opposer of the diamond trade due to the inhumane treatment of the African people. However, if you were to do your research you would find that the Clean Diamond Trade Act, established in 2003, was created as a means to stop this inhumane treatment of the African people as well as the profiting of Gorilla warfare in this already war-torn country. The act is a United States law designed to stop the trade of diamonds that fund violent civil conflicts in many African countries. The law showed the U.S. participation in the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme for trade in rough diamonds.

Also, since you are unaware of where this man purchased his diamonds, I would suggest that you keep your opinions to yourself. Currently, the Ekati Diamond Mine in Canada is one of the largest producing diamond mines in the world. It is capable of providing 1 diamond per US citizen per day for over the next 25 years.

I myself have researched this mine and option extensively since diamonds are a girls best friend and I want one. However, as previously stated, I do NOT and will NOT support the blood diamond trade. This man, obviously educated, has probably done his research prior to his purchase and like me, got his diamonds from a very well publicly certified diamond dealer. One BTW that I would greatly assume DOES NOT support the blood trade in Africa.

Not only are your comments ignorant and unfounded, however they are also defaming towards this man and his character. As an African man, do you NOT think that he researched this. Do you think he would add to the conflict and unresolve of his own country by blatantly displaying diamonds from a war-torn country. A war-torn country that he witnessed falling before him as all other Africans have. For hundreds of years the African people and nation have been in unrest. I see with ignorance like yours why it has been fostered. Only someone like you would be so small minded as to think you can only get milk from a cow. There are obviously numerous resources to get milk, same with diamonds. It is only smalled minded people who do not know that diamonds can be found all over the world and not only in Africa.

Maybe if you would expand your horizons and actually read a book instead of just judging it by its cover, you would learn that just as everything in this world, you have more than one option when trying to purchase a diamond.

Darling there are more diamonds then the industries know what to do with. Diamonds are still mined by children that have been kidnapped and slaved to work. If they have been thought to have stolen their fingers are chopped off. But they are still expected to dig with the other hand

Just like oil in their country their community does not reap the benefits of such rich resources.

Diamonds are sold all over the world including India, but for some reason Africa still enslaves children to mind for them and still get their diamonds out of the country that get mixed in with the legal diamonds.

The industry creates the need for diamond which rises up the demand. Diamonds are not expensive because they hard to find and people are payed fairly for them. Please

I did not say this man was anything. I said what his website portrayed to me. I did not say he was ignorant or arrogant. I said he looked it. My interpretation. His demeanor.

I never thought I could be so controversial.

Name calling does not become you!

Hhmmmm , I wonder why people are always agruing in these forums. I have conversations and give my point of view. I am not arguing with anyone.

I was just defending my post that was picked apart. I still have not attacked one person.

You have that right to defend what ever. Please don't address me as darling, I am not your darling. The name is Constance.

  12. I thought the subject was about the book by Pete Agbo, not character assassination. Read the book, give your insight. Not why you won't purchase the book.

Is this the right post? If not, I am sorry. If so, let's discuss the book, his directions for American women, etc.

If it don't fit don't force it.

Yes, you should get back to the book. Enjoy!

Thanks for telling me what I should do. I am done with this.

Thanks Omoba for suggesting the book.

I pray that all (who purchased) will enjoy and gain insight from what Pete has written.
