  1. My wife will be receiving her IR1 visa soon. Because of some unexpected plans, we may need to stay in her home country for another 2 years. We would like to go to the US after she gets the visa so we visit my friends and family. Can anyone tell me, if she enters the US and stays for a month, then exits the US, how long can she stay out of the country before there is an issue? I saw something about 12 months but I'm not entirely sure. Thank you.
  2. Yes, they just keep saying to use USTravelDocs website. Nothing else.
  3. Hello, I am living in China and was assigned an IR1 interview on Feb 22 at the Guangzhou consulate but my wife was unable to make the interview. We have been trying for the past 6 weeks to reschedule our interview through USTravelDocs but it had been saying "There are currently no appointments available." I have read that this is normal but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this and how long did it take you to get the next interview? Does anyone know if there a certain time that the interview schedule is updated so there is a certain time of day that I should be trying to schedule an interview? Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks
  4. You need to pay both fees first. After the payments are processed (takes a few days), you need to complete and submit both the DS-260 and the I-864. Once those are submitted, you need to upload all relevant documents, such as police report, birth certificate, proof of income, etc. All of these need to be done before you case can be submitted for review by the NVC. Just submitting the forms alone will not start the process. This the stage my wife and I are currently in. The NVC timeline show that as of Oct 31 they were reviewing cases from Sept 8. We submitted everything on Sept 30 so we hope to hear something around Thanksgiving.
  5. After you pay the fees, you then, fill out the forms. After that, you upload your documents.
  6. I have the I864 in front of me know. Where is she supposed to fill out former names?
  7. Hello everyone, I am about to submit my I-864. My mother is cosponsoring my wife as we both live in China so my income does not qualify. My question is, can my mother's state ID be use as Proof of Status when I am adding her as a Joint Sponsor on the CEAC website? It isn't given as one of the examples to use. If not, we can use her passport but she remarried a couple years ago and changed names. Would I need to add her marriage certificate later to proven the reason for a name change? I appreciate any advice you can. Thank you Jared
  8. Maybe submit some more evidence, like some photos. I heard people say there was movement on their case after submitting additional evidence. May be a rumor but I tried it. Case was approved last. May not do anything for you case but couldn't hurt.
  9. My case was approved today. Hopefully you are all getting your approvals soon. IR1 - Texas Center NOA 1 - June 24, 2021 NOA 2 - May 12, 2022
