perhaps the BC that you sent had no seal or it was only a copy? The BC must be submitted with a authentic seal (not a copy) it is usually on the back and with signature of the notary. In the case of the baptismal it has to be authenticated in the Curia and signed by Chancellor of the Diocese. The NVC required is verify the authenticity of the documents.

On the baptismal certificate is a stamp like the notaries here have it is a raised seal stamp 2 of them. Also we had a notary make 2 copies of this and stamp it like 3 times. We are going to try the Colombian embassy in New York to see if we can get the apostille there for the BC, if not I will send what we have and hope for the best. All this BS gets me thinking they will ask for DNA in Colombia at the interview but we are prepared for that also , the BC does have a stamp from the notary and the register however they appear in black and white not color which I think is what is throwing the NVC off. Whne I applied for the boys in 07 ( they were born in Belen ) the stamp their BC had was like green in color. Jeez so mush drama the fourth time around But i do love the colombian club threads and the other threads realted when I can read them

Hello everybody, based on your experience, is it normal for a case not to show up in the system even after receiving NOA1? I sent I-130's for my wife's kids and we already got NOA's, but when trying to look them up online I always get a "... case doesn't exist" type or message... Is this normal and I am just worrying way too much?

Wow I can not remember it was so long ago for all three (2007 ) however did you sign up for an account or are you just puting the receipt number in? Basically though all it will say is docs received until they are ready to approve. Get ready with all docs now so when you get the NOA2 you can FLY through the NVC as ff said though it could be happening to everyone

we are going to go to the embassy here is NY to see if they can apostille it we will see what happens. if not i will send it as is, I am thinking it usually has a differnt color stamp even though there is a raised bar code on the sheet of his BC, they are going back to the notary in anserma also another 2 weeks looks like an august interview for sure. Here we go AGAIN Be prepared for case slow downs as every one will try and beat the fee increase. SOS they did in 2007, however in 07 it was a much bigger change.

Yo te sugiero esperes al 15 de Junio y ese dia si no has obtenido la fecha, pide amablemente pedir hablar con un Supervisor, en el mejor de los casos no se si tu hablas buen ingles para ello, y le manifiestas tu preocupacion y mencionale desde cuando es la fecha de tu caso y la inmensa preocupacion que sientes y que tu has check las estadisticas para Colombia y `deberias ya obtener nuevas noticias al respecto siempre con serenidad y amabilidad.

Ok the offival RFE states

The document you submitted is not an original or certified copy of an original issued by the

appropriate government authority. The document must be an original, or a certified copy of

the original, bearing the original seal or stamp from the issuing authority

However before we recieved the email we spoke to the NVC and they were stating the doc needed to list the grandparents? In Colomia where he was born they do not list the grandparents, we however are going to enclose his baptismal certificate which does show these and has the seal of the diocese ( sp ). wish us luck

So received the supposed orginal BC from the son..........GEEZ it looks the same as what I already sent. Does anyone know if the notary in Anserma has a colored stamp for say the folio page of the birth declarations? We also though are going to send this puppy again along with his baptismal certificate. The baptismal does have the raised stamp from the Diocese ( sp ) so maybe they will take this. It also lists parents, grandparent and godparentrd Hoever his mom is going to send the BC to Bogota for some type of offical thingy I did not understand. man o Man. What a hassle this time around is. I breezed though the other 2, but I was the petiioner and they were from an actual marriage, gotta love these Colombian Men

is the other parent still living? Has he/she given permission for th ekids to immigrate? You will need the custody doc or a notorized letter when you get to the DS-230 stage. Also if the other parent is living the children will need permission to leave to colombia with only one or no parent. See info here

Mal I feel for ya I really do, even though we applied for a son the catergory for us is the same F2A. We filed in Dec 07 our approval was in Feb 10. We are at the NVC stage amd waiting for docs from son as NVC stated the BC we sent was not an orginal. We are getting the run around because when we called about the rfe they said they need Grandparents listed on the BC, however the RFE does not state this, it states the BC was not an Original #######

Esta hablando con una persona o en la sistema nada Mas? en 2008 por los ninos case fue completo Jan 15 ( mas o menos ) y la cita fue hecho como las 16 o 17 para Feb 14? Trata hablar com una persona...

Hello everyone, new to this topic and have been on VJ for about a month now. A little bit about our process:

My Wife is here in the US (NY) and we are in the fingerprints stage of her AOS (considering trying a walk in), her kids are in Barranquilla, we sent her AOS and her kids CP packages on May 13th, got NOA1 and based on what I am reading we should we NOA2 for the kids process around July or August (keeping fingers crossed and hoping for a faster process). Way too many questions about the CP process but reading your contributions sure helps a lot, I will be bugging you with questions as the time to send forms to NVC gets closer. For now, I am reading a lot and gathering docs.

Read up on the short cuts, also if the other parent is listed on the children/s BC ( and still alive ) and there is no custody doc you will need a letter fom that parent at the NVC stage allowing the children to immigrate. You will also need a form for the children to be able to leave colombia with only one or no parent or DAS will not let them leave the airport.

We sent them ( BC's ) with translation just in case even though it says if not in the orgin country's language or English to translate. Better safe than sorry we thought
