  1. My wife just had her medical on April 23 and SLEC saw something on her x-ray. She just completed the 3 days of sputum testing and the preliminary came back negative. She now has to wait until July 2 to call back for culture results. Latent TB is different from active TB wich is contagious. You can have latent TB and it will not affect your visa as it is not contagious.

  2. Yeah, get what?

doc verification is only applicable for philippines however it it better not to undergo this because that means your case is in administrative review sometimes it might take a month or 3...

So, u mean i dont need to get my documents verified?

you need to go to a Metrobank location and pay the document verification fee (650ph) to Delbros. Some cases they will verify documents other cases they will not. Do this at least 1 month prior to interview date to avoid visa delays.

  3. Our papers just reached USEM March 28 and we will be calling for interview appointment Monday or Tuesday next week. We will probably be asked to choose dates on months of May or June and i am kinda leaning towards May schedule. I just want to know if there are others who have May interview schedule already. I hope we could keep each other posted.

May God be our constant guide. (F)

Sandra had her medical and must return for sputum testing. So she will not be having her interview on May 12th. She will not get the results back for 4-8 weeks. I pray it comes back negative and she can have an interview in June or July.

  4. If her sputum test comes back to be negative, I believe slec will re-schedule the interview within a week or 2 after the results are back. My wife Rachel was notified 6 weeks after the samples were taken, only to find out she was positive with the culture. she has gone through 3 months of treatment now and has just got her results from her second round of sputum culture and now is negative for the TB infection. next week (May 2) She has another x-ray and end of May does another sputum test. Now only 3 months more of treatment.

Good Luck with your results and I hope for you, are negative, in a positive way

you made me laugh with that last line! thanks for the info i appreciate it

  5. After a VERY long process with the NVC my wife finaly had her medical exam. It seems they saw something on her x-ray, and now she must return for sputum testing. It will be 4-8 weeks for test results to get back. SLEC told her they will notify her and reschedule her interview. Will she have to wait another two months for an interview like before? Will SLEC squeeze her in?

  6. Did any of you other MENA members get woken up by the earthquake this morning? I didn't think we got them here, but I guess I was proved wrong. It really bothered my husband when I told him. As if he doesn't already worry about the tornadoes. It wasn't a big one, but this was my first one even though I lived in California for a couple years.

Yes. I live in Indiana and was woken up at 5:37 this morning. I had no idea what was occurring even though I had experienced an earthquake in California. It just never occurred to me that it WAS an earthquake here in Indiana.

Anyhow, it was definitely the topic of the morning at work.

I talked with my friend today and he said his bedroom closet door handle was moving and it woke him up. He thought someone was in the closet (he lives alone) so he stared at the door for a few and decided to open it. Before he actually touched the handle, he said he thought about movies at the cinema in which the audience is shouting NO, DON'T OPEN IT!!! so he grabbed something to defend himself. He opened the door, but no one was there. He said he laughed so hard at himself. I couldn't help but to chuckle too.

Though I live 350 miles from where the earthquake occurred, we over here still felt it and it gave us something to laugh about today as we all shared our reactions to it.

I thought my bed was possesed at first, lol. Glad I didn't do what your friend did with the door though.

I'm glad I was not the only one who thought my bed was possesed! The first thing I thought about was The Exorcist movie.

  7. Hi all,

My US fiancee has a certain amount of Euros she brought back with her on one of her visits to Europe to see me . When I get there with my K-1 visa in about a month and a bit, I may also bring some Euros with me ;if I can change it easily there, that is. She lives in St. Louis, MO. Anyone knows of any bureau de change services there or near there? The one I found closest off the net was a Travelex office in Naperville, IL (about 275 miles away) which is a little too far away! As she definitely needs to change the money very soon, though, as we need to start paying the bills for the coming wedding, I'd appreciate any help anyone can give us! :help:

Thanks in advance to all who read this and for your help!

Us Bank at Lambert airport does exchange. She should call first before going as their hours are different from normal banks.

  8. Yes lets imagine no religion. imagine no christians in africa digging safe water wells or caring for AIDS patients. Imagine no church's feeding homeless families or giving them shelter. Imagine no church's sending members into the community to help rehab houses for the elderly. Imagine no church going into Cambodia to help with maimed children caused from landmines. Imagine no christians going to Haiti to help feed and house people. Imagine no catholic charity to run orphanages for homeless children. Imagine no church to provide free counsling to the abused. Imagine no ministry to give to the imprisoned. Imagine no christians there to be with the bedridden in hospice. Imagine no churches out in the cold giving warm clothing to the less fortunate. Imagine no Christmas spirit. Imagine no red cross or red cresent. Imagine no religion and those are just a few of the things you will be missing.

  9. Depends where you live in the country. A weeping cherry stays small and has alot of blooms in the spring. A double chinese plum stays small with lots of white blooms in the springtime also. If you google ornamental trees it should take you to some good sites. Stay away from the big home improvement stores, in my experience they dont take care of their trees.

  10. Once USCIS approves your petition it will be forwarded to the NVC. Once the NVC starts processing your case you will be sending documents in as they request them. You will also be paying a visa processing fee ($300 something). Once the NVC completes your case they will set an interview date and forward it to the embassy. I'm sure once interview date has been set it can be changed by contacting the embassy.
