@akposphilThats good news. BTE  How did you reach out to Montreal? We tried expediting once but was declined. Tried again but NVC responded saying " This case was de t to  Montreal earlier for expedite and was rejected". Did you also try via NVC expedite request?

We sent a mail to NVCEXPEDITE@STATE.GOV

We had also requested an expedited interview about a year ago and it was declined. We just did another one and it got approved this time.

@DTCC Thats a great news! Congrats and Good Luck.

@akposphil: Did you also try reaching out to NVc?

Sorry guys for the long silence. So update on our case::
We were DQed Sept 2020 and have been waiting in line. Sometime last year we had a baby and decided to add him as a derivative dependent on her case.
Before adding him, we had reached out to NVC to understand implications but all we got back was generic responses. After adding him, NVC reached out to say our DQ date will regress and start afresh from November 2022 which didn't make any sense. We then decided to plead our case with Montreal and requested for expedited interview. Montreal saw reason and approved the expedited request and our case is now moved to Montreal and we should hear back on our appointment date soon since Montreal will directly schedule the interview.

Nope we sold our house to take advantage of the market, so I had to figure out what to do with our stuff. We are staying with family here in Alberta and our stuff is all in storage with the movers.

We filed a WOM. The sixty day count down is on.

Hello @3LabMom, when you say the 60days countdown is on, please can you just work me through the WoM process at a high level?

    Regards

Hello @Dip_eb I have a similar situation and got legal advise.  You can add your daughter and she will appear in the consulate at the interview with you. Your case is has been transferred from NVC to the consulate. That is why you need to contact the consulate and not NVC or USICIS. You do not need to file an I-824 because your daughter is a derivative beneficiary and can be added to your current approval. No issues at all. Just send an email to Montreal attaching the birth certificate of your child showing the date of birth and that you are the father. They will tell you what to do. You will need to fill a DS260, pay fees and submit an I-846 (Affidavit of support). Absolutely your daughter will immigrate with you and this will not affect anything.

  5. My case is for my spouse. I am an NIW green card residing in the US while I filed a follow-to-join for my spouse. I am willing to combine with any other follow-to-join case to either write a petition to the department of state or atleast discuss with a lawyer. The whole prioritization is based on family re-unification and if my spouse is being de-prioritized from joining me, it is totally opposite to what the whole "idea of family re-unification". If any follow-to-join case is here, please let me know and we can continue the conversation privately.

I received an interview appointment for my family for Aug 25. This is a "Follow to join" case under EB-2, principal applicant already has GC which was approved at MTL in 2018.

Congrats @dskar. Great to hear some good news amidst the slow movement in Montreal. Please your response to all the questions from @viksaw  will be super helpful to give some 'hopeful" 😃 context. My case is also a follow-to-join same with @F2J_March

I got the PR in April 2018 and the DQ was 6 months before then. It's not a typical case because it's more like "follow to join" for family members. But I posted this update anyway because derivative family members still fall under EB-2 category and this will give other members an update that consulate is finally looking at EB-2 files now. I'll post in this group when my family gets an interview date.

Hi @dskar, congrats. That is a welcomed development after months (years) of silence. I am currently doing a follow-to-join too for my wife. But because she is abroad, I filed an I-824 to USCIS and after it was approved, her case moved to NVC which collected all the documents and she has been in line (Dq) for an interview since September 2020. Did you file your I-824 to CBP or USCIS? Also when was your I-824 approved?

  8. Hi all,

Just got the link to this forum. My wife was DQ'ed in September 2020 and I got the email too. Seems like we are all in the waiting line. Following the update from the video, I'm not sure any new IL has been issued this year. Hopefully they will start issuing ILs for tier 4 from July/August this year.
