  1. Yes, we were approved in Sept. 2018 but due to gov't policies we could not proceed to the next step of getting DQ'd and in line for the interview until end of March 2020. And then the world shut down (and embassies). What should have been a 12-18 month AOS turned into a 4 year ordeal for us. You can check out our timeline and those of others here - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14yZKxht6igwJPXPU0EehKmmN2hx1g3EchEuB5G0yNO4/view#gid=0 As an EB1, my husband was a self petitioner so he did not need to have a job offer or NIW.
  2. Hi all, just wanted to share that we had our interview on Thursday for EB1 and were approved! After having our documents checked and finger prints scanned we were called over to speak to a consular officer who asked us about our marriage status/if we've been married before, how long was our longest stay in the US, what my husband did for a living and if our daughter was an American (she is, hence not on the application). The whole thing took a little over an hour. Also, for anyone who needs to reschedule their appointment - it was very difficult to get a straight answer on how to do so, so thought I'd share the steps. Be sure to register your appointment following their directions. Then, believe it or not, simply do not show up for the appointment and 24 hours later you will be able to send a message requesting to reschedule and giving your reason for missing the appointment. After they reply to your request you will be able to select a new date and time on their online system. It's been four long years and just so grateful it is over! Thank you all for the sharing and support on this forum. Wishing everyone swift and successful interviews!
  3. Yes, we were able to snag one of the few spots (two dates were available) in November! Great to hear your passports have been dispatched already. Are you having them couriered directly to you?
  4. Congrats @VA21202 and @Dip_eb ! We are going for our rescheduled interview Nov. 3 and I'd love to know how long it actually takes to get your passports back, once you receive them.
  5. We have to reschedule our interview - we had to wait until our interview date passed before submitting a request to reschedule so new date is TBD. Best of luck tomorrow! Let us know how it goes!
  6. Congrats @VA21202 on your IL! Thanks for your input on rescheduling - been trying to see if we can make Sept work because yeah, their process for rescheduling is totally ridiculous. But my husband's work schedule requires too much travel (and he needs his passport) so looks like we need to push it until November. I've emailed the consulate to confirm we are to just not show up (?!) and then email them to reschedule the day after...waiting to hear back. Best of luck with your interview!
  7. Hi all, Has anyone gone through the process of rescheduling their interview date? We are getting conflicting info and it is not clear how to do it (the info provided online and in emails do not make sense). Appreciate hearing about anyone's experience.
  8. Hi all, we too received our long awaited IL this morning for Sept. 23! I'm in the process now of trying to book medicals asap as we are scheduled to fly out on the 13th to start school in the states on the 15th...really hoping we can be squeezed in so we can just fly back up for the interview. 🤞🤞 Congrats @topman Hoping we hear of more IL's in the batch!!
  9. @topman will do! Status is still at NVC atm.
  10. Congrats @Sorrel!! And thanks for sharing your experience. All the best!
  11. No update. We've asked our lawyer to look into WTH is going on but I don't suspect they'll get much of answer. Montreal never replied to our email from May. Did we ever hear from @Sorrel on how the interview went? Hope all went well!!
  12. Nothing yet for us...Status is still at NVC. Fingers and toes are crossed for some good news today!! 🙏🙏🙏
  13. Thanks @VA21202. I am still holding on to a glimmer of hope that by some miracle they fill a few open spots with EB in July...but yeah, looking like August for our next EB batch. SO brutal.
  14. Do you know the date range for the ILs sent out to FB today?
  15. Our lawyer told us, pre-pandemic, to expect a 4-6 month wait for the interview after receiving approval. So they had a decent backlog but now it's just crazy.
  16. Beyond frustrating!! Especially since we seem to finally be near the front of the line of this ridiculous backlog and now they've put a hold on ILs for EB the past two months?! So infuriating. Haha, maybe we'll do the same! We wanted to give our landlords notice today and start planning our move back down to CA before school starts for the kids (we were there for 4 years pre-pandemic). Super annoyed atm.
  17. No word back from Montreal and just received the 60 day robo letter. Are they really going to skip EB again this month??? Unbelievable.
  18. Ughhhhh...no IL for us yet and status is still at NVC. WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!
  19. Hi all - just an update that we still haven't heard back from MTL about being inadvertently skipped over for IL in the last round and status still shows at NVC. Hoping the next round of letters go out soon and EB are included this time!!!
  20. Yes, received the auto reply same day
  21. Yes I emailed the Montreal Consulate only. No word back yet and case status is still at NVC.
  22. Sent an email today - will see if we hear anything!
  23. 🙏🙏 REALLY hoping we hear soon so we can get settled in time for the new school year. I had really hoped for a May interview - July will be cutting it close. Everything is so much more complicated with two little kids!
