  1. Hi everyone, I was just wondering if this happened to you or if you have heard of this before. So we had the interview for the CR-1 visa on April 20th, got a 221g for form I-864A, sent the requested document that same day, then got a DS-5535 request on April 29th after we inquired about our case status. Since then, we have received about 8 updates on CEAC, the last one about two months ago. Given it had been two months without updates and five months since the interview, we decided to email the embassy again requesting a status on our case. The embassy replied that the officer had reviewed the case and since almost 6 months passed, we needed to redo the medical exam, and that after they receive the results, they will continue with the process of our case. Is it normal for the consulate to request a second medical before the first one expires? The medical expires on October 12th. Is this a good sign? Could they just be using the medical exam as an excuse to extend wait times since we emailed requesting a case status? I don't want to get my hopes up again and then have to wait another six months.
  2. that's crazy! We're thinking if it gets to be too long, to file a Writ of Mandamus. Basically, sue the embassy and obtain a court-ordered date that they need to make a decision by. I can't believe it has been this long and still no answers. When was your last update on CEAC?
  3. Hey did you get any news? I got a 221g as well from the Panama City Embassy (just a financial doc needed to be sign by my mother-in-law) after our interview April 20, 2022. We sent the missing doc immediately that day, then when we requested a status update on the case about a week later, we got the email for the DS-5535. The completed Ds5535 was sent Apr 29So and far we have gotten about six updates but no approval, last update was over 3 weeks ago
  4. On average, how many times does a case get updated before approval/issued? I got at least 4 updates (that I for sure remember) in the last month, but it might be more around 5 or 6...I didn't know to look out for those until later. My case is not from montreal embassy, however, my country has no tracking info and this thread is the most informative one I have found. Hope you all get "issued" soon❤️
