  1. Good morning everyone! I am not able to sleep! My husband will be home by tonight! I cannot even begin to tell you all how I am feeling right now. I don't think there are words that can express that. Wow!

Congrats Deb on your petition leaving for the embassy. You will know the interview date before you know it! Then the interview . . . then the shaking your head in awe . . . whew!

You all have a wonderful week.

  2. Hello everyone. Sorry I have not been on here much but I have been busy with other things. Congratulations to those who have already been approved for visas.

My husband had his interview at the lagos embassy today. He said it was awesome. He was told to pick up his visa on Monday, 3/17/08, at 2 p.m. He will be flying home on Marhc 18th!!! We are very excited. We give all the thanks, honor, and glory to our Lord for making this happen. God bless each of you.

  3. Good afternoon all,

I just got off phone with USCIS and they have my file. Yes, the K3 was in it and "Becky", the Asian lady whom everyone else thinks is horrible, will be forwarding the K3 to the NVC herself today, and I was told over the phone to check with the NVC again in about 2-3 weeks. This time, it should arrive there, so I will start checking the NVC again starting March 7. I am breathing a sigh of relief for now. At least the K3 was found. Will update you again when it makes it to the NVC.

Thank you everyone for your help and listening ears!

    Deb

Wooo hooo, Deb! I am so happy they found it! Maybe they will rush it to the NVC.

I sent all the documents for my husband's interview on Feb 14th and he picked them up at the DHL office on Feb 19th! Glad they made it there on time .. . the interview is March 10th!

  4. On my NOA2 the instructions say that if I haven't heard anything about my case in 4 weeks then I may call the NVC.

I would just want to know how soon to begin checking with NVC to see whn they have our paperwork. And also what is the number to call? I sure would appreciate any help on this. Thanks all

I waited about 2 weeks to call the NVC. Their number is on the NOA2, (603) 334-0700.

  5. The notice date on my NOA2 was 11/15/07. I called the NVC the first time on 11/29/07. They didn't receive my case until 12/10/07. I found that out when I called on 12/11/07. That's when they gave me the new case number LGS-XX-XXX-XXXXX. I called back on 12/14/07 and found they had forwarded the petition to the embassy on 12/13/07. My husband was able to pickup his pkg 3 & 4 on 12/27/07 after 2 previous trips to the embassy where he did not even get to talk to anyone. We didn't have to go through the extra security checks so not sure how that will affect your timeline. I pray they rush things for you!

    Thanks for sharing.. :)

I thought if u went to the consolate with the NOA2 and that NVC number, that u could pick up the packets. Wondering why he had to go 3 times. Plus they are supposed to send u an email when the case has been tranferred from NVC..right? Now im so confused... Did ur husband have both notices (NOA2 and NVC email) with him when he went the first 2 times?

    This is sooooooooooooooo frustrating :help:

The first time my husband went to the embassy, it was in the afternoon. They told him it was too late. The second time, he was there at 6:30 a.m. The guards were telling people to get their papers out and many people were ignoring what the guards told them. He said there were about 50+ people in line and about 10 including himself had gotten there at 6:30 a.m. After a few hours of waiting, they told them all to go home . . . that they got there too late. My husband was pretty upset about it. So he asked what time he should be there on the 27th and they told him 7 a.m. and he told them he will be there at 6:30 a.m. like he was that time and to remember his face. LOL. My husband had both notices when he went each time. We never received an e-mail from the NVC. Yes, you can pick up your packets but first you have to get past the line and into the cosolate to speak to someone.

Thanks for the info... :) I know its crazy at the consolate! We went there when I was in Lagos the last time, just to ask questions, and it was a nightmare! Thats why Im hoping my husband only has to go once!

I also hope he only has to go once to get the information. Just tell him to go early when he goes and do whatever the guards tell him to do and pray the others do the same. My husband did not have to travel far to the embassy, but he said there were others who did. He was concerned about some older ladies who were what appeared to be about 80 yrs old . . . they too had to stand in line and were sent home. Really, there is no excuse the way they can treat people there at the consolate. It upsets me that our tax dollars pay those people. Don't you just love to see our tax dollars at work?! I thank God that my husband was able to get the information and interview date. I can hardly wait until he steps off that plane here in Kentucky. Wooo hooo!

I noticed on ur timeline that it took almost a month before u go the NVC#...Were u calling everyday? I am so obsessed with this!!! LOL Don't wanna waste a day! Am just so amazed at the person i have turned into during this process! Can u imagine the feeling when we see our hubbys again at the airport! OMG!!! Keep having visions of the scene we gonna be making!!! ;)

Yes, it did take almost a month to get to the NVC. I called on Tuesdays and Fridays . . . LOL. I haven't gotten obsessed with this or I would not be able to function. I don't want to waste a day either, but this is a very long process and I try to keep everything in perspective. I told my husband when he arrives, I am not sure we will be able to make it straight home. We have a SUV and the seats fold down, but who has time for that, right? Of course, I am just joking! :innocent: Thank God our home is only about 2 miles from the airport. I know we will just want to hold onto each other and not let go!

  6. The notice date on my NOA2 was 11/15/07. I called the NVC the first time on 11/29/07. They didn't receive my case until 12/10/07. I found that out when I called on 12/11/07. 9. We were approved in Nov. but our interview date is not until March 10, 2008. There are others who were approved after us who have their dates earlier. I think it depends on the embassy, etc. Take care and may you get your interview date soon!

i saw your dates on the tracking list in the africa forum...can't believe they are scheduling interview so far out!!!! We are still waiting for NOA2, and i see others here filing after us already been approved! Its such a crazy system..and the embassys are all different! Did your husband pick up his packets, or wait till they mailed it? Heard u can get a quicker interview date if u pick up the packets, but others have said interview is already set in system when case is transmitted!

Good luck to everyone....My prayers are with us all!

    God Bless (L)

I agree that the system is crazy. My husband picked up his packets on December 27th. I have no idea how they set the interview dates, but it is quite a ways out . . . I have not visited the African Forum. . . maybe I should .. . LOL. I hope you get your NOA2 very soon!

  10. WOW...No one knows about this new passport situation! :(

I guess I need to keep investigating!

I recently heard about the new passport, but I wasn't aware that my husband needs to renew his due to the marriage. Hmmm, hopefully someone else will have info on that.

  11. Hello everyone....I am new to the K3 forum. I been hanging out in the Africa/SubSaharan forum cuz my husband is from Nigeria. I would like to be added to the tracking list here...We have one going in the Africa forum...but not very many K3 filers there, and its hard to get an idea of how fast they are getting approved.

    I130---NOA1---June 19

    I129---NOA1---July27

    Thanks

Welcome! Someone else from Nigeria! Hope to get to chat with you. Hopefully you will get your NOA2 soon!

    sighhhsss .....

praying hard to have the dates sooonnnn

We were approved in Nov. but our interview date is not until March 10, 2008. There are others who were approved after us who have their dates earlier. I think it depends on the embassy, etc. Take care and may you get your interview date soon!

  13. Hi everybody,

Isn't interesting to see that throughout this journey to be reunited with our life partners we get an obstacle after another, and we still go through it, but yet a people like us a human like us handle our cases with all the cold blood and the careless that there is to it, and worse others made lows that truly made their own citizen just suffer from it.

I really thought I am done with all delay and bureaucracy when my case was approved, and I saw how wonderful the NVC staff were, but I all this nice feeling hit the wall when I start my process in the embassy, not waiting for interview, no, I just want the packet# 3 and here they are telling me that they have sent it 11 days ago, and we haven't received it, and in a normal mail it should not take more then 2 to 3 days, and that wasn't what got to me, what really got to me to see that around the world that's what a lot of people have been facing,

WHY? WHY WOULD THE EMBASSYS AROUND THE WORLD DELAY SENDING THE PACKET# 3?

are they trying to gain some time to study your case, well how long does it take to do so, this case has been though a lot of bureaucracy checks and re-checks enough to approve it

I really don't understand what's going on any more, and the embassy use to answer my questions in the same day (email messages) but now that I am asking them why I haven't receive my packet# 3, and if it is possible to get it through email, no answer at all it's been 3 days and they haven't email me back, and to make matter worse, calling the embassy is just useless, phone rings and no one answer, you call over and over, in may different times, but no way, nobody answers

I am starting to lose it now.. don't know what to do :(

Hello Win. I am so sorry you are going through all this '#######'. Is there any way your wife can go to the embassy and pick up the packets? My husband went and picked his up. It took 3 trips, but he finally got them on 12/27/07. Now, we just have to wait until 3/10/08 for the interview, but at least we have a date. Hang in there and don't give up!

  14. Good evening everyone!

I am now able to join this group finally. As of this evening, we had both 130 and K3 approved!!!!! Boy, I sure am happy and so is my husband. Even though he is very sick tonight, you could hear him grin ear to ear over the phone, lol! Now we are preparing for the interview. I will have to read the guides to see what happens next. I am glad to be back with my group again even if most of them are light years ahead of me, lol!

Good luck everyone with your interviews!

    Deb

Wooo Hooo . . . congrats to you, Deb!!! I was so glad you called when you found out. Girl, you bout blew out my eardrum but it's all good cuz I know I did the same to you!!! LOL Things are moving right along now!

    Tomeca

  15. Girl, you should go since you have the flexibility and finances to do so! What a wonderful experience it would be for you and him! I haven't seen my husband since March 2007 and his interview date in Lagos is March 10, 2008. If I had the flexibility and finances, I would have done it! It should ease some of the stress of this whole process for all involved. God bless you in whatever decision you make!

  16. that is just HORRIBLE Kingsley Princess!!!!! three months for the interview.....aaaarrrrghhhh!

but, thank God that is the last step in this unbelievably painful process.

    be strong!

Thanks mbdesousa. I will be so happy when he is walking out of there with his visa and even more happy when I pick him up at the airport when he arrives. We never dreamed that things would take as long as they have, but we are holding on . . . God is wonderful and I know it's just a matter of time now. Have a happy new year!

Here is the latest chart. 15 interviews scheduled, and 4 approvals.

    Hi Urge,

Can you add me also to your list? My visa has been done on December 28, 2007, but am having problems with the trackpad of my laptop, and I can not post correctly...grrrr. I already have the plane tkts and we will be travelling on 31 of January 2008.

Thank you so much and wish you all the best for the coming New Year 2008!

Happy New Year to everyone in here and good luck to you all.

Congratulations peonyflowers99. Happy New Year. I am so happy for you!

  17. Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and will have a happy and prosperous New Year! I wanted to update everyone about our case. I received the RFE in the mail today. Even though the website said they mailed the notice on Dec. 12, the letter was postmarked Dec. 20 and I got it today which is the same amount of time it took the other two notices they sent at the beginning. Anyway, they wanted exactly what I thought they wanted...the exact thing I caught myself at the middle of November and made copies and express mailed them what I found was missing at the end of last month. Let that be a lesson for those just starting their journey. Even if you catch a mistake after you have already sent in your petition, don't send them unsolicited evidence until they send you the RFE because I can see that they just throw it in the trash and never put it in your folder, even if you put your case # on a cover letter and highlight it in yellow with both petitioner and beneficiary's names. I expressed mailed everything they wanted this afternoon and they will have it tomorrow morning, so I am relieved and happy now :) So finally, I hope, we are on our way to our approval. I hope by this time, they guys that were in my group have all now made it to their separate embassies and have their interview dates in hand. Good luck everyone! Will give another update when the resume our case and also when we receive our approval.

    Deb,

I'm so glad it was what you thought and not a complete surprise. Now that you have sent the requested information, I pray they approve your petitions soon. We still don't have an interview date. Our petition was sent to the embassy from NVC on Dec 12th. My husband will go to the embassy tomorrow to pick up his packets and hopefully the interview date. He was sent home last Friday, as were all the others who showed up, because they were told they did not come on time. He was there at 6:30 a.m. They told him to be there tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. and he told them he will be there at 6:30 a.m. like he was on Friday. I pray that things go better and he gets what he went for. Hang in there, Deb. It's all going to work out!

  18. Merry Christmas to everyone. Congrats to those who have interview dates and also those who have been approved. My husband went to the embassy today at 6:30 a.m. and waited several hours to pick up pkg and interview date, and they were all told to go home because they were not there on time or something like that. He said that there were at least 10 of them there at 6:30 a.m. today. They were told to come back on Thursday of next week. My husband went there already on Tuesday and was told to come today. Thank God the embassy is not far for him, but for some, it is very far. We were just hoping to know the interview date before Christmas, but such is life. We are confident that things are fine though.

Thanks Urge for keeping the chart going. It is so helpful to see the information all in one place like that.
