1. If you look towards the bottom of that same NOA1 you'll see it says that you won't be able to track your case using the receipt number. Instead you have to wait on the bio appointment and the number on that form will allow you access to your case progress online.

The time it takes to get a biometric appointment varies from case to case depending on how busy your local ACS office is. Your best bet is to wait and if you haven't received anything after 30-45 days give them a call.

Thanks a ton, I saw that on another forum, hopefully we get the letter soon, worried that the bio date will run into my due date HAHAHA!

  2. You have to wait until your Biometrics notice to be able to track the case. If you read over the letter, particularly the final paragraph, you will see that they will issue you a number that can be tracked online with the Biometrics notice. So don't worry. We all have to wait till our Biometrics to track our case.

How long has it been since you got your NOA1? Did you get your biometrics appt letter yet?

  3. Help Please:). We still cannot get to the case status using the receipt number on the NOA1. I noticed that most people from CSC already have their biometrics date apprx 1 month out from when they received their Notice of Action. However, if that is true, we should be preparing for ours in the next two weeks, but we still don't have that letter and it has been 17 days. If I call USCIS they can't find it using the WAC**** number on the NOA1, so this is almost helpless. Should we be worried?

  5. Has anyone ever been able to walk in to the Portland office and do a walk in Bio appt. The reason I ask is because we are still waiting on the BIO appt, but I am 5 weeks from my due date and pretty much this baby will come when she wants to, so I am trying to figure out if my husband will be able to successfully walkin and do that at the Portland OR office. It says on the USCIS website that the Portland office requires an infopass appt, but the USCIS office in Portland where we have our interview, wasn't the same place as the BIOMETRICS place, wonder if anyone knows?

    Thanks!

  6. Hey everyone! We need some advice here again.

My wife just received her biometrics appointment letter today stating that her date and time is next Thursday, 10/22/2009 at 11:00 am at our office in Portland, Oregon. This is a really fast notice, but its actually quite nice. This is actually great news as the time was pretty quick from our NOA1 to our biometrics date (exactly one month!) However, due to scheduling conflicts, she might have to change her time to a few days earlier or just an earlier time on that date.

    Our questions are as follows:

    1. My wife was thinking to either change it to this Friday, 10/16/2009 at anytime OR next Thursday, 10/22/2009 at an early time than scheduled (say, anytime from 8 am to 10 am, which is 2-3 hours EARLIER than our scheduled time). Do you think these times are reasonable and would they be allowed for an early biometrics if we just "walked in" to the office? I also noticed that our office was opened on Saturdays (If that is the case, then 10/17/2009 would be perfect w/ anytime possible as well). Which of these times and dates do you think would work and be most reasonable? Is there a recommended time we should go?

    2. Does an early biometrics walk-in cause unnecessary delay (if my wife was to choose the weekend day, i.e. Saturday to do her biometrics) or could it add any suspicion to our overall file or case? Has anyone ever had problems with this before?

    Thank you!

Hi! I was wondering if this worked, we have to use the Portland office too and I am going to have our first born in 5 weeks. I am hoping that my husband can just go on in without issue so we don't risk it falling around the time I am due.

    Thanks!

  7. Just to verify, is their new greencard only good for two years? I know they can apply again after divorce but there are going to be some complications and now because she has most likely a criminal charge against her that will not look very good if she goes to reapply for a 10 year greencard in a couple of years. You may want to contact infopass as well or an immigration attorney about this issue. So sorry for what you are going through.

  8. Wow, I didn't know that one simple question would lead to a heated discussion. Bottom line, I just needed to know if my letters of support need to be notarized. And in my opinion, more evidence is better than not enough. I would rather provide more types of proof, with a mix of quality documents like utility bills, account info, etc, which I have, and letters of support from family of friend. Rather than get an immigration officer, that decides he/she wants one type of evidence over the other and I get an RFE that slows down the process. Better to be safe than sorry. I appreciate those that answered my question. I apologize to those that felt the need to be confrontational, and feel sorry for those that had to keep explaining themselves!

  9. My husband will be applying for his removal of conditions this summer, but has a business trip in the fall that will require him to go out of the country. Is he allowed to travel out of the country while the removal of conditions is pending and he has an expired greencard? I heard about this passport stamp but I also heard it was hard to get. We are in Oregon and I am not even sure where we would be able to get that.

    Thank you!

  10. The reason why you have to send it within the 90 days is to give them time to receive the petition and send the applicant the NOA in time. So if you send it a couple of days before it expires, your husband will have an expired green card in his hands with no NOA which its purpose is to extend it for another year.

    Diana

Thanks but my question was if I can send it before the 90 day window opens. I was wondering If I have to wait for it to arrive exactly 90 days before or if I can send it a little earlier.

  11. Just make sure you send it when you are eligible (within the last 90 days before your 2 yr GC expires).

Currently, California SC is tracking around 2 months which Vermont SC is tracking 3-4 months. Things can change quickly....

Another question. His green card expires the 20th of September, so I planned on Sending in the paperwork early June, does it HAVE to be after June 20th, or can it be a week or two before the exact 90 days?
