Interestingly we had a problem with the Delta agent when my wife was trying to fly to Russia. The agent said that her greencard had expired and she could not use a US permanent address. The greencard had not expired, she just could not read the date. We argued for 5 minutes before I convinced her to have another agent look at the greencard and he agreed that it had not expired.
On the original topic, we made an infopass appointment to get her passport stamped and were told that they do not do that unless the NOA letter has expired and you still do not have a decision on removal of conditions. We explained there could be problems trying to leave Russia with an expired greencard and were told that it is not their problem, their only concern and the purpose of the letter is so you can reenter the US.
This is just me, but I find DELTA is awful.

Others answered correctly.
I can't think of anything else he needs to take with him - but I can think of something he can bring... a present for you
Exactly!

went to puerto rico for vaca.never had a problem with it...
but will be better if he make an appoinment to stamp it on his passport...
We can't make the appt. He leaves tomorrow and I see that usually if you have the NOA they won't give you the stamp anyway.

The NOA1 extends the duration of the Green Card. Thus, you are not traveling with an expired Green Card. Any CBP officer swiping your Green Card will read the extended "valid 'til" date on his or her screen.
OUR NOA letter doesn't have a valid until date, it just says extended one year and the date the NOA was issued.

Ah - ok - with that 797C - and your greencard (expired), your good to go.
Just don't go past 1 year ")
Thanks, its only a week work trip and hopefully we get his new GC in the next month or so, he has already had biometrics so I am crossing my fingers it comes soon.
Thanks!

Original NOA from what?
The ROC?
Yes the NOA you receive when you file the ROC
That mightbe enough but an informass and a stamp would be better
We looked into that but the GC has to be expired and it expires the day he leaves so not possible

My husband is traveling out of the country for business for a week, starting tomorrow. His GC expires tomorrow, but he is taking the original NOA letter that says he can travel and work for 1 year with him (we have a copy here) Is there anything else anyone can recommend that he should take?

Our Bio date is 8/25, it was rescheduled from 8/17 because it fell on my due date. funny part is, she came two weeks early right after we applied for the new date LOL!
-
Actually...when it comes to ROC the NOA1 also serves as proof of a 1 year extension on a 2 year conditional visa so the OP is in fact correct.
Yeppers!

Hi,
Had to reschedule bio appt, sent request overnighted today (not to a PO box so I can see who signed for it) and sent a copy to CSC of the request per the instructions. It seems that the USCIS Portland office has to be sent the request directly so hoping it makes it faster. Anyone had any experience of how long it takes to get a new appt? What if we don't get a new notice of new appt before original appt date approaches, will that cause any issues? At least we have proof of everything. I am not to worried about the delay since we have the NOA1 allowing my husband to travel and work and the greencard isn't officially expired yet.
THanks!

I strongly agree with this. I've read where people say it took months for them to get their case rescheduled and it was as if their application got placed at the bottom of the pile.
Well all we can do is wait and see, at least we have the NOA that allows him to travel and work.

Anyone know how long it takes to get à new bio appt if you request reschedule we have no choice
Anyone know how long it takes to get new bio appt if you have ti reschedule

Help we have to reschedule à bio appt that is three wweks out how long until we get new appt time uf we send request express mail tomorrow?
-
I am very nervous about that too but i Will at least keep mailing proof of deluvery and who signed for it uscis Said we cant go early we asked them and explained the situation they Said we have to reschedule
-
We thought about it, but apparently this office is small and crowded, it had a note about limited space and it is two hours away from where we live so that makes us nervous.
I definitely agree with Jamericanlove.
Try a walk-in on a Wednesday, I'm sure that you'll be successful.

Warning, double check ALL information your forms when you receive them. We finally got the BIO letter, but of course the date is one day after my due date, to afraid to risk it so we are going to reschedule. However we first had to change the name because they misspelled my husbands middle name, so we spend 15 minutes changing that with USCIS hopefully we can get a date a little later in the month of August so he won't risk missing his appointment and abandoning the application. Now we have to send the request for change tomorrow and hope my husband is schedule before his trip the end of September. I wish we were just able to call the local bio office and deal with them. Worried now, this stuff is never easy! Hopefully the new bio letter has the correct name this time:).

Hi fellow PDX-er! I received my bio letter a few weeks ago and it's scheduled for next week. I didn't bother to try a walk-in since I have to take time off work for it and it would be a waste to show up and be turned away
Crossing our fingers we will get the bio letter soon, I am due in three weeks and hoping it doesn't fall on our due date!
-
ahh got it! thanks for the tip
Finally another June filer that is in Portland! Still waiting on our biometrics, I assume you are too? Also, have you ever tried a walk in bio? I am too afraid too!

Hello again....I finally sent my I-751 packet few days ago. Then I realized today I forgot to provide the note "Attention: I-751 petition to remove conditions of status" on the outer package under the address of CSC (per ROC guide here in VJ). I have a note though written on top of the cover of my folder of evidences inside that it is for I-751 including my A#. Will this cause delay or at worst my papers will get lost? I'm sorry if I'm being paranoid. I guess the waiting does that to some people I hope to hear if anybody else has done the same and didn't have trouble with their ROC process. Thank you in advance.
I didn't even think to add that to mine and I got our NOA really fast back from CSC, so no worries!

Did you call USCIS to get the new WAC number? If so did you ask them too about when you should get your bio appointment?
Yes we called USCIS, they directed us to another department and my hubby gave his Alien # and Receipt Number and they provided another WAC*** which allowed us to see the case online. They said that the bio appt notice should come by July 30th, if not, we need to call them again.

Got the new WAC number, now I can check the case online, but still have to wait for the real Bio letter
Renewing passport in home country

Hello,
My husband and I are going back to Sweden this summer and he would like to renew his passport then. It takes 5 days to get a new one which is plenty of time. However, I am not sure if the US will have issues with him departing on one passport number and returning on a new one. Has anyone done this before and had any issues?
