  1. Hi there

We’re finalizing our AOS packet to send in after K1 marriage.

I think I’ve checked and rechecked everything sufficiently, but I also want to be sure I have the correct address for USCIS from a Wisconsin address; and that the check is made out to the correct entity.

Is the attached screenshot the correct send in address?

And do we make our the check for $1225 to Homeland Security?

    Thank you!

Hi! Speaking from experience here. Both my fiancé and I are living together outside of the US. We mailed our petition via FedEx on February 21, 2021 (USCIS received it on February 25), and we received our approval notice on April 28. Our country's embassy received and mailed us our instruction packet on July 1.We've scheduled our interview for August 10 (could have scheduled earlier, but didn't notice the packet until July 17).

I'd say that's pretty quick compared to CR-1!

Wow, you received your initial approval after only 2 months? Wild. Nice to know it’s possible. 🙂

Yes we added the g1145 form. Yeah I’m hoping it might just be delayed because I know the postal system for USA - Ireland is very slow recently so I was expecting some delays with the postal NOA1 but I expected the text/email a day or two after they charged the card but it’s been over a week now and still nothing.

hopefully I’m stressing for nothing and it arrives soon :)

If you sent the I-129F from abroad, which it looks as though you did (Ireland), you had to send it to the non lockbox address. If you look closely at the wording on the G-1145, they only notify via text or email when applications are received at USCIS lockbox address, and only US cell phone numbers.... and then it seems even if one met the above, that they often don’t send an e-notification to many people (government; who knows ha).

You’re in the system, you’ve been charged, it’s simply a matter of time now. Good luck!

  4. I sent in the I-129F with form to pay via credit card. Unbeknownst to us, our credit card company has reformatted their card system and sent out new cards; the ‘old’ one which is attached to the application will instantly be declined.
    My questions are...

I’ve attempted to contact USCIS in order to ask what exactly happens to our application now, to no avail. I’ve read they return the whole packet- anyone know?

If that’s the case I should be able to supply a new form of payment- NOT the card used previously, which needless to say I’d like to cancel- and simply resend the whole thing as is.
How long does it take a rejected application to be returned?

Or, am I better off reprinting and collating the whole package again, and send as new? I do have copies of almost everything that was sent. Keeping in mind I’m currently overseas, not in the US, the mailing time is lengthy.
(My return mailing address is in the US, so I assume that is where they will send it, if they do so.)
Feeling pretty dejected, but gotta move forward.
    Thanks

For the child, you answer in both places.   I assume the child is already a USC so will not be seeking any derivative immigration benefit.

Thank you! Specific answers are exactly what I was asking for. 🙂

And yes, child is a dual citizen, NZ/USA. We just received his CRBA and US Passport, so I am doubly sure the consulate is open for business haha.

  6. Hello all!

I imagine I'm overthinking this, but the paperwork (and a wild toddler) has fried my normally competent brain. So-

I-129f, questions 47-48b for the applicant (me), and questions 39-44h for the beneficiary (my partner), are regarding children. 47-48b ask whether I have a child, and the age of said child. 39-44h ask whether he has a child, and then the details of said child(ren) and where the child resides.

I do indeed have a child. So does he. It's the same kid we are referring to here, because the toddler in question is ours. It seems like I should be able to say 'yes' for the applicant and 'yes' for the beneficiary, but something in the wording or setup makes me question if perhaps I am doing this incorrectly. The child does reside with the beneficiary, but I live there, too, so the child resides with both of us- but there's not a lot of room for deviation from yes or no answers here.

I have of course included statements and evidence of us being the parents (photos, birth certificate, et cetera), yet I'm aware their a stickler for the form and I would prefer to just 'get it right' with the first shot.

    Help?

Thanks, it's a wealth of knowledge we have here, and I'm grateful for the community.
