  1. Hi everybody,

I am sorry I have been misssing in action on this forum. I have had a rough time lately. We have been having marriage problems for a long time and I think it is time we thought about ending the marriage. I am not going to Turkey to visit him this summer since it seems like neither one of us knows how to fix our marriage, nor really wants to. We don't have the money, he doesn't have the time, and we will just extend the inevitable, because we are trapped in limbo and are both unhappy. It has just been too much time apart, growing in different directions, not being able to get to know the person 7000 miles away, etc. It is hard to read every day about people getting visas, getting married, and getting pregnant when these are the very things I have dreamed about for so long and now are just not going to happen for me. I have made some good friends on Visajourney, so I will continue to check in to see how everybody is doing from time to time, but I probably won't be throwing my commentary in too much. I wish you all wonderful lives and know that all will fall into place for all of you!

  2. Hi Wendy! Well it sounds like you are going to have a fabulous wedding in Hawaii! How exciting! Please post photos or describe all the details, leis, sunsets, wave height--you name it! :star:

I am still waiting. I will be heading to Turkey this summer to see the husband, I just need to try to find a plane ticket and a place for my kitty.

  3. sure thing  we did it once and succeeded, and we will do it again.. I will never stop fighting for her, and for us to be together.. ESPECIALLY when the background checks party (FBI, there might be others, but they are the biggest one) say that we are not under any checks and never have been.. we won Round 1, let's bring it.. Round 2 begins now!!

I really admire you gogo. Your determination and patience are truly admirable! Please keep us informed about the lawsuit and any advice you have for the rest of us.

  4. Tanya--

I think you will be okay, because you got married in October 2007, right? So you will have to lift conditions 90 days prior and submit your tax returns. Well you already filed so you will be good. If you are applying next year, then it might be a problem, but since it is almost 2 years now, I would think you will be okay. Sorry to hear about the job--I know what it is like to be uncertain of the future--but it does sound like a blessing in disguise, and what a great severance package!

  5. Thank you for your prayers. I am telling you, every week I think, "Oh, this will be the week!" Then by the end of the week when I see it is not going to be the week, I get soooo depressed. I just don't understand why this is taking this long. I mean, the embassy told me it was name check. How long does it take to figure out who someone is or is not? My husband has already given up believing we will get the visa. FRUSTRATING! :(

  6. today i called my congrassman office and the lady who handles our case told me if AP takes more than 6 months that mean something wrong ,it made me lose hope and give up for time been and prepare my self for another 10 month or more in AP so i decided to go and vist my husband end of may in pakistan and stay there for a month.

My congressman's representative told me the same thing a few months ago when I called too. But what is wrong? And can we find out? Can they find out? Jeez!

  7. The last DOS operator told me that they do not have the information if one check clears or not, she told me that information goes to the embassy. I don't know if she was not being truthful, but I asked her if she could tell me if any of the multiple agencies were finished with my husband's name check and she said that they would never receive that information to their computers. Who knows?

  8. Hi all! So I am back from a one week cruise with my mom and I had a great time. This was actually the first week in two years where I did not cry for a week! I went to Honduras, Belize, Mexico, and the Bahamas. I got to swim with the dolphins, see monkeys, and not think too much about AP and visas.

Julia--I want to know all about the wedding plans (both the official and ceremonial!) Glad things are going well for Onur and you. Let me know also about the job hunting, and just keep in mind that you usually won't find out until the summer, so don't get too nervous.
