Well guys, it will be one whole year this week since my interview. I'm at a loss. Not sure how to procede. None of these service requests, FOIA requests, or phone calls seem to be able to nudge anything loose.

The last time I called the USCIS phone number they mentioned the backlog with the A files. Which doesn't make sense because I was able to obtain it with a FOIA request.

Has anyone tried the legal route? I'm just worried about the cost of an immigration attorney and filing a writ of mandamus?

    Contact your congressman man

The 120 day window doesn't mean anything anymore. I submitted my application August 2020, did my interview July 2021. Online status still says "interview scheduled" haven't heard anything since. It's really frustrating.

@bunkx, it is sad that you been delayed . Did you trying contacting USCIS ? One must not give up . You have waited a long time enough and I honestly do not think they are reviewing anything , it is just intentional delay tactics

I will advice you wait and see what happens after 23days . Mine says 4 months

I had my N400 (filed May 2019) + I751 (filed May 2018) interview this morning in Boston. We arrived 30 mins early and ended up spending a little over two hours there -- things were moving quite slow. First I was called to a counter where they took my picture and fingerprints, and then they asked me to wait for an officer to call me into one of the interview rooms. I could hear lots of N400 interviews going on around me, probably all for people who already had their 10 yr green cards. The officer who took my picture confirmed that it would be a combo interview; I wasn't sure before then, and the Tier 2 rep I had talked to said she had no way of finding out.

Finally an officer called my name, asked if my husband was with me, and then went back to his office for fifteen minutes -- I think he was prepping for the I751 interview. Then he interviewed us separately -- first me, then my husband, asking us both the same questions. He asked about our bedroom - what size is the bed, what color are the sheets, is it wood floor or carpet, do we have a TV, how many windows are there. He asked about our shower door/bathroom curtain and about where/how we take out the trash. He also asked if we had nicknames for each other, if either of us has any tattoos or allergies. He asked what we did for our last wedding anniversary. My husband couldn't remember some of the details for all of these questions, but that wasn't a problem. I submitted a bunch of additional evidence: airplane and train tickets, insurance documents, copies of our lease, pictures, etc.

Then he asked my husband to leave the room, and proceeded with the civics test (easy and straightforward), and then asked me all of the questions from the application. At the end, he told me that he would recommend both applications for approval, but someone else has to sign off on that first, and then I'll get an invitation to an oath ceremony in the mail. So now I'll wait for the very last part of this adventure.

This message board has really really helped me navigate all the paperwork and deal with the stress. The few times I've talked to uscis reps, they've given me really misleading information. I've always been able to find much better answers on visajourney. Good luck to everyone!

Thanks for the details . I will be having my I-751 interview in July 2021 (Boston ) and I  have my N-400 pending . I wanna write ✍️ USCIS probably I can get a combo interview . My biometrics has been used

You will likely not get a combo interview as your N-400 first needs to be pre-processed at NBC which can take a while. You will either need to have your biometrics taken or have them reuse your old biometrics, and then they have to perform background and security checks. All of this will take a while and you will likely have your i-751 interview long before your N-400 gets adjudicated. So you will receive another interview later down the road.

I got my interview date for I-751 July 7th at the Boston office JFK building

When did you apply for your I-751?  We received the same notice last October and are still waiting for our interview.

Oops!  Just saw where you said interview WAS scheduled. I thought it was just ready to be scheduled.

Yes Diane and Chris, it was scheduled June 3 . Funny enough , I haven’t received the notification in the mail yet

  9. On June 3, 2021, we scheduled an interview for your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number EACXXXXXXXXXX.

I plan submitting my N-400 June 14 . I haven’t got the letter for the interview yet.
I am hoping I get a combo interview . Done filling the form and uploading documents. Just patiently waiting for the the 14th to submit .
Has anyone ever experienced such a scenario ?
    Thanks for your response

We never got a response from anyone on this, but I thought I'd update anyway. After calling USCIS, they called back within a couple days after the original post, and said they would make a note that the I-751was still pending, and they said to go to the N400 interview. At the interview the officer noticed the I-751 wasn't complete. He asked my wife the citizenship questions, looked at only the most recent bank statement she had along (wanted to see payroll deposits), and asked to see a couple of recent pictures (lucky she had her phone with her). He told her he couldn't approve the N400 because the I-751 wasn't approved yet, but said he would take care of that. The interview lasted about 15 minutes. The next day the I-751 approval notification showed up, and later that day or the next morning the N400 approval notification came in and said that the ceremony letter would be mailed. Interview was the last week of March, ceremony was the third week of April. After all the long waits along the way the end all happened pretty quickly.

Congratulation , I have my  I-751 pending( Sent to another office and that was office has jurisdiction … n)  also and I will be applying for my N400 in June . Believing it will be a combo interview as well . Which field office did you guys had your interview ?

So today I had my oath ceremony in albany NY.

You can check my timeline for the exact dates.

    Now for the interview:

I had mine last week. I applied under the 3 years rule and I was fully prepared arrived 20 mins earlier checked in and waited for 10 mins until I was called. The interviewer saw the big bag I had and was confused but when I say I was prepared it means i was realllllyyy prepared. Straight to the civic and English and passed then went through the form and corrected all the mistakes I made filling it. Then he asked me if i had anything to add to my file. I gave him few bank statements and credit cards then he said its enough you already submitted tons of paperwork which i replied " the issue is when it comes to prove the marriage is legitimate you never know what is enough". He complemented me on how organized i was.

Two things i was worried about.

    1. I did have a misdemeanor from 2010 in my country which i paid the fine and had proof that i did. He did ask alot about it but he was nice and gave me enough space to explain but i was certain it will be the reason to get a "a decision cannot be made" which i didn't get

    2. In my file there was a malpractice lawsuit we filled against my old doctor i did provide the letter from my attorney of the settlement. But i was never asked about it at all.

The officer than left the office came 5 mins after with a congratulations i was recommended for approval and the oath ceremony notice. I was so excited im sure i started speaking some weird language and he kept smiling. Then i left extremely overwhelmed with happiness.

Today i attended the ceremony and it was beautiful. Quick and no guests but nonetheless it was still lovely. the officers were extremely nice and down to earth they even offered to help us take photos which we did.

If you are reading this i wish you the best of luck in the world. This process wasn't easy at all we all here know that. My journey is over. Thanks to everyone who took the time to give me an advise or even sharing their stories it definitely helped.

One last thing, when this year started my removal of condition was still pending and 5 months after I am a citizen. Doesn't get better than that.

If you have any question please feel free to send me a message and ill gladly answer you.

Last favor to ask. If you are reading this please always fill your timeline. It helps seeing how others doing.

Congratulation , did you mean you didn’t get your 10 years green card before your citizenship interview ? Kindly clarify . Was it a combo interview ?
