  1. I now have citizenship interview setup for July 14th, 2023 after filing for N-400 as a permanent resident - one who fully resided in the US for more than 5 years. When I submitted N-400 app; I also submitted copies of 2021 taxes. A. . Since then, I have just mailed in taxes for 2022; and been unemployed for a month and half or so - and started a new one now. Can I just take a copy of 2022 taxes mailed for the the interview? B. Since I also a landlord and happen to have a non-paying tenant, for whom I am about file a case to evict the tenant who's not paying for few months now. This will probably show as a public record - would this negatively impact my application decision? C. I see a checklist to take with me to the interview on the USCIS web site - however it is not specific to my type of case. What should take with me; is there a more pragmatic/precise checklist for my type of case? I uploaded most the stuff during the application.
  2. Folks, Applicant submitted N-400 in Sept 22 as a Green Card holder of over 5 years. Now he's laid off as of Dec '22. Is there any required notification that need to be made to USCIS prior to the interview. I imagine not - however I haven't read all of USCIS/Immigration laws and policy manuals (yet). Please advise. Also, he's thinking to file for unemployment as there may or may not quick offer of next job. Would unemployment claims impact case decision favor-ability? Thoughts, experiences? Be kind to illuminate. Thanks!
  3. [...] Ok, all understood; thanks! Regarding the taxes: we mailed our taxes for 2021 in April 2022. Still have not heard from IRS - with known pandemic delays from IRS. should we upload taxes from 2020, 2019, 2018 instead; OR can I upload 2021 copy, along with previous two years, knowing that we might get a response from IRS sometime soon? Also, found this document on USCIS web site that seems to state that I do not have to upload anything other than copies of my green card for my type of case: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/guides/M-477.pdf - the document is dated 2016 - not sure if still applies. Nonetheless, I am leaning towards your value-able advise of submitting all I have so that we won't have to go through RFE etc - if USCIS would safely ignore the documents that do not applicable.
  4. Folks, no one sharing their knowledge/experience on this topic; could it be question not clear? Or is it answered elsewhere?
  5. About to wrap up submitting N-400 online as an LPR (based on child of a naturalized us citizen parent) - of more than 5 years. On Evidence section the form asked for copy of: a. Green card - uploaded font and back b. Marriage Cert (not sure why it asked - N-400 instructions say submit it only if application is marriage based; it is not); I uploaded; shall I remove it; if it's not necessary? On Additional Evidence sections form is asking: a. Children's birth certs (who were all born in the US); (necessary to upload?) I have uploaded b. evidence of selective service registration - I uploaded a copy of the cert - sounds normal c. Kept asking additional documents be uploaded and didn't specify which ones. Is it reminder or is there's a list of document I am required to upload the online forms known; and i don't? Insights/clarifications will be appreciated!
  6. Ok, will it be really necessary in the future as well? Any potential scenarios? Thanks
  7. As GC holder of a lot over five years, I about to submit N-400 to get Certificate of Naturalization. Is it really necessary to submit N-600 as well? Seems Certificate of Naturalization will be sufficient to get US passport, etc, is proof of citizenship as well. Can I avoid submitting N-600 and save application fee etc?
  8. These are two different cases - previously i posted/asked using this account for someone else for AOS. Now it is for different individual, her husband, - who has had Green card for over 5 years now.
  9. Understood for weekend gap; thanks! what about 3/4 weeks gap ? Or can we leave this to answer at interview that i was actively looking for next job during those weeks?
  10. Filling N400 online; and getting alerts on employment history section. I was in between jobs on later part of 5/2019 and early part of 6/2019; busy searching for a job for a three/four weeks. And between 12/22/2018 and 12/23/2018 - I ended one job on Friday and started a new on Monday. Essentially USCIS form is asking me what did I do on that weekend. Kindly advise if can I safely ignore these alerts.
