Had my interview today and passed! It was extremely easy; was told to wait for oath ceremony, my husband wa allowed to stay with me during the interview,I am hoping dont have to wait long for the letter, then I can file for kids n600, God is truly good!

Personally,,, I did not,,, waste money on the N600... Just file for a US passport(once the spouse obtains her citizenship).

It is cheaper and easier, and more widely accepted as absolute proof of US citizenship.

I just had my citizenship interview today and passed it, I still dont know when my oath date will be but I asked about my kids ( I have 3) officer said I should file for n600 for each of them once I got my oath certificate but I did not know it will cost me $ 600/each, how can I get them a US passport each if I dont have a certificate to show that?

I remember my case, it was the same, but as soon as you do the fingerprints, you will be scheduled fast trust me, well at least i hope so.

ethel_eric - I added your Bio date. Glad to see things are moving on your case. To answer your question, No, your kids don't have to go to get FP/photo done. It's your application. their info is included in your application and that's all they needed. I also applied having my daughter (13) and that's how it works. So don't worry about it, once your become a U.S. citizen they automatically become as well. After you receive your Certificate of Naturalization you just need to apply for their passport at the same time you do, and also you can apply for their Certificate of citizenship down the road if you want. Those will be their proof of the U.S. citizenship.

thanks for that info..now I dont have to worry for my kids having to miss school at all since my appointment is on Monday. Yes I am happy mt case is moving again, I am thinking after the FP I will have my interview date sched within 2-3 weeks. I will so happy when this journey is over so I can start another one..bring my mom here..miss her terribly...appreciate all my VJ friends insight...May God bless us all always.

Wow. That is almost starting over. Good luck with the process. I am sure it will be complete in the next few weeks. You should call them and ask them about the bio for kids. I think they might be excempted since they are young.

got an update on my case; recevied an NOA stating I have to redo my FP as it is already expired...meaning from being sched to an interview on 11/28/2011 to rec'd the yellow letter on 12/14/2011 now I have to go back two steps to get the FB on 3/26/2012...well I at least my case is finally moving..I am wondering if I have to bring my kids too for their BIO but I have not rec'd an appointment for them. Isnt it that when I applied for N400 and got approve my kids should also do the BIO as well? If any body can answer this I would greatly appreciate it..

I don't see any update on your entry in the list. Did you finish your FP? If so when? Are you waiting for the interview letter ?

they did not sched me for FP just an update saying I am online for interview, I did call USCIS office and they say I am still within their processing timeline and I just have to be patient and just wait.

I received the date for my interview! March 13 it is.

Someone please update the timeline for me since I'm messing up the format

Sorry you're still waiting. What don't you give them a call? Is it Tampa FL your local office? Because looking at the list it seems like some others from that office already got their interviews scheduled. give them a call to find out what's going on. Good luck.

I actually did and I spoke to the supervisor, he said, it is still under review and I should wait and I also asked if this is normal and he said it is still under the "normal processing time" and I should just wait.

Now I am starting to freak out, I received a yellow letter stating only to bring my driver's licence on the day of the Interview and that was on Dec. 13, 2011; todate, I have not rec'd a date yet.

is this Normal? I did my bio at Tampa office and no update on my online stat since Nov 2011 stating I will schedule for interview.

Thats really odd, considering where some Philippines come from. When I went to Davao to visit my fiance I was amazed how content they were with the little they had. They really changed the way I looked at things back home. I always joke with my fiance that I am going to send her back if she starts to get the least bit americanized lol. I remember walking down the road and buying one of those big rc bottles from one of the little stand and I would give it to the kids playing on the road , I have never seen a happier kid in my life with a bottle of rc . My fiance knows shes not coming to a life of luxery, she is just happy knowing there is a Oriental store that sells philippine groceries near by :-P

I feel the same...When I came here, I did not expect a life of luxury at all. My husband was always been honest about life here. Most of the Pinays I meet were married to rich American-well-to-do guys and has been here for 20+ years and do not have to work at all. I was the opposite, so I did not fit ...I also did not want to compete with so high life style..Those that I did meet that are really humble and regular day to day Pinays I tend to stick to those kinds...

I don't use VJ much unless I have a question about immigration. I don't use it for my social life like the majority of you guys do. There is one question I like to ask. It is kind of silly, funny, and cute at the same time. It depends how you guys interpret things. Here it goes:

I joke with barbie (my wife) about it all the time. She came from Phil in the summer. Like some of you, she doesn't have many filipino friends. Now here is the funny thing. We have been in few events where the majority of the people are from the Philippines. In Three occasions, some filipinas approach barbie, smile at her, and the FIRST FIRST FIRST thing they ask my wife is either her cellphone number or FB account.

Those ladies act same way as when guys are picking up chicks (Excuse my language). I think it is funny cute. Then they become friends, in fb, text mate, and go to the malls ... and so on(all are married).

My wife never approaches any filipinas because she thinks the majority of filipinas here are kind of arrogant. But any one who smiles at her she returns the same friendly smile. (I like that about her)

I am happy for her she already found few friends. Now she looks very happy and feel energized again.

I like to hear if some of the ladies here are experiencing the same.

That is funny..sadly most of the Pinays I meet where I am at are but arrogant (I am ashamed of that) on my first year here, I have not meet any Pinays around but when I came across one, I meet dozens of them...I wonder where they were hiding all these time??? anyway, we became friends and they started going to my house on a regular basis after a while they would tell me how bad my house looks or how my car is not the latest model etc... which makes me feel bad as well I am working full time and so is my husband, but we tried to lived within our means, we dont own anything fancy or drive a fancy car or go to fancy places all the time like casinos or five star hotels so I guess it does not par with most Pinays who lived in my area for more than 20+ years so I back off it is shocking to know that despite the distance, we stil brought our crab mentality here...I actually became closer to some I meet here in VJ than the ones I meet in person isnt that weird? when there are dozens of Pinay around where I live...I bumb to some at Oriental Stores and I just smile and say kamusta...

I didnt hear anything from USCIS for 60 days, and was really expecting my EAD or interview letter, but unfortunally just got a RFE letter!

Well, i need a help.

This is what they are asking:

X- Submit all supporting tax documentations (W-2s, 1099s, and all supporting tax schedules) submitted to the internal revenue service (IRS) from the petitioner/sponsor on form I-864, affidavit of support, for the most recent tax year.

Well....Now, looking in my husband's filles, i just found all the papers from his tax returns, i found his W-2s, but couldnt find anything saying 1099. I called my hubby and he says that he dont know what is this document. Also, what they mean : all supporting tax schedules?

ANY HELP WILL BE APRECIATED!

1099 is a form for misc income, that is if your husband received any misc income from his job or employer, example xmas bonus and or incentives. If your husband did not rec'd any then I dont think USCIS will force you to submit something when it is not there. Other options is to have your husband's employer write a letter using company letterhead stating your husband is not receiving any incentives to declare a 1099. I had to file those for mine, that is how I know. Hope this helps.

i am glad i found this post from ethel_eric OMG i thought im the only one who is suffering from Homesickness We live uphill and its mountain houses are away from each other..here in home no TV,NO CABLE,JUST SMALL RADIO in the corner,i dont have any friends here in neighbor,ohh well one friend american lady but i havent seen/talk to her in about 7 mos,she is very busy and no time to talk nor hang out.my husband is working full time,and only have few mins to talk and spend time with me coz when he got home he is tired,he is not very outgoing person he just like to stay home and chill out,,we dont go to church oh well we did try twice since i got here,but i am used to go to church every sunday,cleaning the house,doing chores,cooking laundry etc is my daily habit plus i talk to myself most of the time,i cannot call to the fam in philippines coz its expensive and money is main concern here in home,I wanted to learn driving,make pinays friends but i dont know how,,its really homesick and most of the time when im alone i am depress plus its cold and windy here i love gardening so i cant work in the yard,,during weekend we just stay home and just stare in every corner of the house,i tried to be busy like reading,watching movie,,but hmmmmmm its a lot different to have some friends around,

i live close to victorville maybe some filipinas want to hang out with me or spend time cooking,etc just give me a buzz here in vj..thank you.
