Thank you, we have been checking for 3 months. We are just unlucky I guess. Im going check every couple hours and hopefully get this over with.

Are you scheduling via 221g link? We were able to schedule our appointment to submit requested documents the same day we had our initial interview. My wifes interview was on March 4th, she received the 221g and that evening I was able to schedule an appointment for April 23rd. And there was a calander up for at least a few days. Make sure you are following the blue forms instructions. Hope this helps. My wife submitted requested documents and passed on the 23rd and the visa issued yesterday. Good luck. All will he well.

Wow, had no idea! Glad I caught this.

So, both the applicant and petitioner fills this out with information on their respective families, or just the applicant getting the visa?

Both you and the beneficiary must fill it out. The idea is to ascertain if you and your spouse are related in any way. Again. The family tree is expected when they request for more evidence and specifically ask for it. Its not usually a requirement. Good luck.

While first cousin marriages are common in some cultures, they are illegal and against cultural norms in Vietnam.

The US Consulate in HCMC have had cases of marriages between closely related family members to facilitate illegal immigration to the US.  There is a specific PDF about family relationships that needs to be filled out when the US Consulate suspects that husband and wife may be family members.  https://d2v9ipibika81v.cloudfront.net/uploads/sites/40/FAMILY-TREE.pdf

The US Consulate will take its time to review all additional information when they suspect fraud.  It's unlikely that they will approve a visa immediately.

Thank you for the reply. My wife and I have family trees spanning 3 generations. Very different parts of the country. Most of my family has migrated to the US many decades ago. Just hoping the new evidence to prove our relationship will do the job. I think we have more than they will care to read. But fingers crossed. Thx again

  4. Has anyone had success with the 221g refusal? She was given blue form asking for additional information such as a family tree, proof of purchase for flights, ex spouse info etc. We made another interview to submit and was hoping for some feedback and success stories. We are hoping she would get approved once we submit. Has anyone had their cr1 visa approved after submittinv required docs to the embassy immediately? Thank you so much.

Make an appointment otherwise they will not let you in. I believed the appointment was for the afternoon. If i remember you have to select it for reschedule for 221g

They did not even do another interview after looking at the mound of evidence went submitted.

Make it easy for them to sort through. We had Post-it Flag between each evidence so it was easier for them to find things.

It says if you have other evidence to submit it too. If you have more pictures of you and her together I would submit more of them.

Here what i did for the 221G

Thank you!  Praying for an approval. 2 years since we have seen each other :(

Follow instructions and provide what they ask for on 221G, you will be fine.

Hi thanks for the advice. It seems you have a lot of experience. We have all the evidence they asked for prepared for. Family tree, receipts of tickets purchased by me, ex spouse info, etc. In addition to that sworn affidavits from family and friends and much more evidence. I think the red flag was that we had a relationship while I was separated but not legally divorced. Obviously married legally to my wife after the divorce finalizes though. Do you think we have a good chance of getting approved immediately after submitting evidence requested on 221g? Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you

Yes with the the evidence with submit after the 221G we were approved the same day.

Thanks for answering! Any advice on prepping the evidence? Did they interview you again? Did you have to make an appointment? My wife and I are so dissapointed. We brought so much evidence that they didnt even look at. Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you very much

Yes, we got the visa after we submitted everything on the 221g they requested.

Hi. My wife got the 221g form today sadly. My question is when did you submit the evidence required and did the consulate make a decision the same day? Thank you!

  9. Congrats!! We are to be interviews on the 4th. I hope we get the same results! You are lucky to be there with her. How did you make it to VN with all the restrictions! Again congrats and wishing you guys many many years of happiness.
