  1. Hi all - quick question about working after arrival! Not been much movement in here for a while, hopefully everyone is getting on okay. Has anyone started working and if so, how long did it take you to get your Social security number? Have there been many issues getting hired? Thanks!
  2. Amazing, thank you. Yes, I've been networking on LinkedIn and asking around my current company to see if anything might come up stateside, too! I had seen someone who had expedited on the basis on having a job offer now that I think about it. Thanks again!
  3. Yeah thats what I've been doing, I know a lot of applications these days get reviewed automatically by a system so want to at least get past that haha! Amazing, thanks so much this is very helpful! Yeah I'm not anticipating getting far but I know some companies occasionally keep resumes stored so just trying to think ahead
  4. Hi all, I have my spousal Visa approved and will be entering the states soon. Is it legal for me to start sending in job applications saying I have the right to work? I'll be free to work once I enter the country and would like to get myself on a few radars! Thanks!
  5. I just gave the whole print out with all 4 copies, they didn't seem to mind I also got it from a booth.
  6. Hi! I did my interview last Friday, January 12th and got my passport back yesterday, January 18th. The turnaround time can be a lot quicker, I think the long estimate they give you is to manage expectations. They will let you know once it has been printed and when the courier has it for delivery so it will not be a surprise when it arrives. You can also check the CEAC status check page for updates on when it has been printed/issued. Congrats!!
  7. Hi all, quick question for those of you who have done an interview - how long after approval did you get your passport back? If you interviewed in London then I would especially like to know. I hope everyone is getting through the process okay and that those of you that have moved over are settling in! I have my interview this week and can't believe I'm finally at this point. Best wishes!!
  8. Hi! Yes, same rules for everyone. Your summary care should include your immunisation records too so even if there's no illness listed it's still worth having Your doctor should be able to print it off quite easily but would start asking them sooner rather than later.
  9. Finally! DQ'd October 27th, interview for January 12th. Quite a quick turnaround from IL to the actual interview. Can finally start making plans properly!
  10. Asking the same question! Trying to gauge when to start discussing handing in my notice for work etc but can't make any kind of commitments until that interview is sorted - nightmare!! Still, there's some validation is having other people in the same boat 😭😭
  11. Hi all! I went back a few pages in this thread and looks like the last date for letters to go out was November 6th, which is exactly 4 weeks before today so fingers crossed we're hearing something soon! I wonder if they're slightly behind schedule...
  12. Hello, Ah perfect, I was tryin to find info on when ILs were sent out and was unsure if it was embassy dependent. Yeah I think we JUST missed the cut off. I've only been checking CEAC, I wasn't aware there was somewhere else to check so will definitely look into that. This is incredibly helpful, thank you!
  13. Ah okay, thanks! I'd seen a few people get them very quickly but maybe they have been odd cases. Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it
  14. Hi all, Anyone with an interview, how did you find out about it being scheduled? Was it via email or post and did your CEAC account change? Thanks!
  15. Hi all, Currently awaiting a visa interview for London embassy but it is taking longer than expected (almost on week 4 of waiting). I'm worried I've missed a letter but my CEAC account still says 'at NVC'. I am expecting an email but should I be expecting a physical letter? Thanks!
  16. Hi! Just wondering, how long did it take to get your letter about your interview once NVC was completed?? We got completed at NVC about 6 days ago and unsure what to expect in terms of time frame. Hope all is well!!
  17. Finally completed at NVC and now DQ'd!! @mapi thank you for giving me a heads up, took us 8 days! Hope everyone else is doing okay and getting through the process!
  18. Oh my gosh! Fantastic news, hopefully we will be not far behind. Very happy for you! All the best with the next steps!!
  19. Yep, I noticed that, too. I did some digging and it does look like people are still getting approved (just browsing a few timelines etc), I do think it might be a temporary problem. This website shows historic times and it seems like case creation also had a big spike recently which then came down quite quickly. The document review time has also come down sharply yesterday compared to previous changes. Looking at processing time history for the past few years, there are no other spikes like that so my instinct is that it is a short term issue or glitch but who can be sure. https://visawhen.com/nvc I might just be being overly optimistic about it, maybe the 2 month wait is legit. Going to check what the change is like next Monday before jumping to any big conclusions!
  20. This is so strange, have seen people with NVC submissions way passed the date given getting documentarily qualified. I know it's not an exact science but I wonder why the sudden change... One thing I will say is that this level of a jump seems to be quite rare. Usually changes in processing times are gradual so I am inclined to believe this is a temporary issue but who can say. Fingers crossed! Source for historic processing times: https://visawhen.com/nvc
  21. Hi all! We finally submitted all our documents on the CEAC today! Is anyone currently at the point where all documents have been confirmed at NVC? How long where you waiting for confirmation?
