I got word early this morning that our friend, em Thùy, received her pink slip. I will post her interview questions as soon as I know them. Em Thùy said that the actual interview was much easier than my practice interview for her! That is the way it is supposed to work!

Wow. that was a good new. Can't wait for my turn. I tried to collected over 100 interview questions. Can't think of anything now. We have friend "Bich" from Ca Mau province, have an interview tomorrow. But, I'm very sure that she will get blue slip (no letters, 7 picutures together, no email, no thing). Plus, she didn't seem care to pass an interiview, she is not ready yet (my fiancee spoke with her yesterday). I will post the outcome soon.

Look ppl get pink slip, I can't image, what the heck I will do when my fiance raise the pink slip...

I just want to bring my sister to the USA but she has different last name with me. We re the same father not mother. My sister's mother did not put my dady's last name on her birth certificate. What do i do before I am filling the I130. Also, Im USC but my father only has GREEN card. Who can bring my sister here quick. Thank you and good luck to all.

I have almost the same case as your sister's case. My brother is US citizen. We have both same mother and father. My father was Green Card holder when he applied visa for us. My brother also applied for us at the same time. This process started on 1990. It ends up that my father became US citizen and our status converted to "sons to US citizen - F1 visa(?)". We came to USA with my father's visa application.

Long after we have come to US, my brother's application became actual, and we did get a notification from former INS, stated that our brother's visa application was ready. The visas were now ready for us.

In my opinion, your father's visa application is the fastest way to get your sister over here, if he can become an US citizen. I think he can start applying now even he only is a Green Card holder.

and she got the pink slip .. phhheewwwwww!!! Mannnn, I can't express in words how happy I am right now...I don't have all of the details yet, but all I know is she was the first person in line and the first person being interviewed and of course the first person to pass.. her interview was scheduled at 8A and at 9:13P (US time, which is 9:13A the 1st of April in VN) I got the call from her, which got me a bit nervous ... but fear no more ..

When I called them, all they said was to wait from 2-4 months for an interview. They also said there was no need to call back again regarding this issue.

I disregard what they said and keep calling every week.

When my fiancee picked up her pink slip, she will be able to pick up her visa the following Monday, March 31..this confirms what others and PeterFB said that the visa lag is back to within nominal parameters.

........ Without paying $100 bribe, the official won't process the PC. She have verified with a person that just recently applied for PC. Yeah, I know it's outrageous when I first heard about it. It might be different in HCM or in other bigger cities where there's a transparency.

My fiancee paid only 100 thousand VND or around 7US$ for the processing fee, and she got her paper after 4 weeks.

In my opinion, best time to apply the CP is when you receive your Package 3, but I guess it is different from place to place.

I know quite a few. What are you looking for? Expensive? Cheap? Middle of the Road? Old? New?

.....Can my fiancée return a package 3 “DS-2001 ‘Date, and sign’ and DS-230 part I before she receive package 3 from US Consulate? I mean I have everything for her, why we should wait. Do I miss any forms?

We never got our package 3 via postal.

After have been waited almost 4 weeks, I called the Consulate and they allowed my fiancee to come and pick up the package and also drop it off by person at the same day.

We turned in the DS 2001 and DS 230 part I.

I don't think it is so BAD as you feel right now.

It's a good step that you start looking for a lawyer.

You still can re-apply. K3 or CR1 are still available for your situation or even K1.

You will see that your lover will be able to be with you here in the US the in nearest future anyway.

BTW, stop saying you lied. What done is done, just learn the mistake and move on. You can start collecting evidence now for the coming process. For future use, you need to save all the phone bills when you call your fiancee, also you flight tickets, photos when you are in Vietnam with your fiancee. There are a lot of advices you can read here on this forum.

My Fiancee applied her Police Certificate on a town in Southern Vietnam.

It was easy. She just went to the police station and turn in her request.

I am not sure how much in fee she had paid but she did not pay any extra except the standard fee. I will ask her again regarding the fee.

They promised her a processing time of 4 weeks.

I checked with my fiancee regarding application fee.

She paid 100K VND (around 7USD) when she applied for the Police report. The procedure was really simple and it took only 15 minutes to fill out the form.

DSL 1083 is just for instruction of obtaining Police Certificate ...

Would you please explain about the detail for this instruction?

I would like to have more info regarding how to obtain a PC. My wife told me it's not a problem to obtain one in bigger cities like HCM. But in small town, according to a person that did it, she has to pay a bribe money of $100 in order to get one. Without paying the bribe the official would not issue her the PC. I don't have any first-hand knowledge into this issue. Apparently, transparency is not a normal thing in certain places.

I asked the same question last week but seem like no one hang around this forum anymore. Anywho, I did some search and came across these posts, and as far as i know. You only have to turn in form DS-230 Part I back to the Consulate ( Don't quote me on that, I haven't got any confirm from anyone in here). You can obtain the form with the link below. Good luck and let me know if your fiance is able to turn it in.

They did verify her ID prior to letting her come in.

They checked her case number and ID with their system, then they gave her the package.

We turned in the DS 2001 and DS 230 part I at the same day.

If your fiance'e has not rec'd Packet 3 after 1 month from mailing date, have her come pick it up at the Consulate, tell her the case # and they'll give her a copy. If she has not rec'd it by Feb 2 (Sat), then go pick up on Feb 4--is a Monday.

I called the HCM Consulate today, and they let my fiancee to come and pick up the package.

Package 3 (Instruction package) contains:

DS 2001

DS 230 Part I

DSL 1083

DSL 1083 is just for instruction of obtaining Police Certificate, so we only turn in the DS 2001 and DS 230 Part I.

My fiancee could drop off the forms back to the Consulate at the same day.

I guess it's now just waiting for the package 4.

Does anyone know how long between package 3 turns in and receiving package 4?

According to the Consulate so it will take 2 to 4 months :-(

My fiancé just recently received packet 3 and is ready to submit it. Does anyone know what kind of paper works or form I need to give to her? How soon do I need to have these papers really for her? Does everyone have to wait 2 weeks after their interview to get their visa?

One of my friends got his blue slip on 11/21.

He came back to the Consulate on 11/26 and they let him in after he had showed them his blue slip.

He got the Pink slip same day but he is still waiting for his visa. He said when he was at the Consulate, he talked to many persons, who also got their visa issuring delayed.

I wish both of you best luck, and I hope you can stay calm, you are so close to an approval now.

Hi All

4. I'm coming to Vietnam for the interview, if she get approved for her visa, how soon can she pick it up? I can't stay 3-4 weeks in Vietnam, 7-10 days is the most I can stay. We plan on leaving together.

I have a friend, who had his interview for his CR1 on 11/21 and got a blue slip.

He went to Consulate 11/26 and got pink one (approved).

The Consulate said he could pick up the visa for his wife one week later.

Now 12/20/07 they still have not any visa yet.

My NOA2 was approved on 11/02 and a touch on 11/04 (assume they forward the package to NVC?) I called NVC for the past 2 weeks and they don't have my record in their system yet. I have been lurking around and see that NVC received the case about 2 weeks after NOA2. NVC told me to wait another 2 weeks and call back. Is this happen to anyone else before?

It took 38 days for my case from NOA2 to NVC received it.

It took another 35 days for NVC before they sent it to Consulate.

Now I could not stop wondering when will my fiancee get her package 3.

........I am in USA with a B1/B2 visa and I also met my fiance whom i dated online for 1 and half years now though she is almost 20 yrs elder than me.But we are just one soul. So my question is pls advice whats the way I shd take :

a) I can go back to India and apply for a K1.

I don't think you can apply for a K1-visa.

If I am not all wrong then you need to be a US Citizen to be able to apply for a K1-visa.

If you are a "Green Card" holder then you can apply for a CR1 but not K1-visa.

Everyone else please feel free to correct or confirm my statement.
