I'm in the same boat. Mine shipped the same day. DHL shows delivery on 11/26, but the last update date is 11/24. So I know it's been there a whole week as of today (12/3), and no update yet.
It could depend on the embassy. Looks like Tokyo embassy takes a week as of now. I think 1 week is pretty quick too. Maybe you can check timelines of people with the similar timeline in your area?? I’m pretty sure you’re close tho!!

That's nice! Good luck on the medical and the interview! My interview is later this month as well. Good luck to us!
The medical check didn't require any documents from the embassy. The copy of the email from NVC worked just fine. Also I received the instruction from the embassy when I got home. It took 1 week just like you told me

Oh that's good to hear that they don't need theactual paper from the packet. About the police certificate, I meant that when you request the police certificate they will need the letter from the embassy to process the request (at least that's what the prefectural headquarters that I went to asked for)
Good luck on the medical tomorrow!
Ya, I am not sure yet but hopefully I don't need it! In my prefecture, I was able to get the police certificate without the document from embassy. Just the copy of email from NVC worked fine!

Yes it is from Tokyo, it will get there sooner for sure! You can schedule your medical if you already have your Ds160 conf number I think but you have to wait for the packet because there will be a page there that you will have to give a copy of to the clinic(one that contains your NVC number), and they will also ask for a copy at the police headquarters. It took 2 weeks for the police certificate to be released amd less than a week for the medical results to be mailed to me.
Thank you for all the info. I actually have the medical appointment tomorrow. Since they only asked for the document with my case number on it, I was going to print the e-mail from NVC and bring it with me. Since the clinic I am going has already closed for today, I asked a different clinic that does medical checks for visas and they said the document doesn't need to be from embassy (the email copy works)... guess I'll see tomorrow lol My clinic didn't ask for the police certificate either!

And it’s risky to
go to interview before they send u instructions because usually these instructions indicate that they did imbra. People got sent back to Russia when they came without instructions in Warsaw embassy
oh, I will make sure to receive the instructions before going to the interview! Thank you!

We received the P3 a week after the status updated to 'Ready' so watch out for it this week! Start filling out Ds160 if you havent already!
Is yours from Tokyo embassy? Either way, I will continue to check throughout this week! I emailed the Embassy and they told me to wait at least 3 weeks... I am already done with DS-160 and have scheduled an interview in late December so hopefully I receive the instruction by then.

Every embassy works differently, you might want to check what is course of action in Japan. In Islamabad once the status is ready you can submit your DS160, schedule medical and interview WITHOUT receiving an email from the embassy (they do send an email which is generic email, we received our email after our interview was already done) which states absolutely nothing but just a link to Ustraveldocs.
It might be something completely different for Japan.
From what I’ve seen, people receive the instruction before the interview. I’ll check with embassy. Thank you!

I might be just impatient but has anyone received instructions from the embassy by email or mail already after the status became ready? Our case has shipped last week (11/23) and when I checked on Saturday (11/27), the status was ready. I have been waiting for the instruction since then (only 3 days tho) but haven't heard anything...

Start filling up the Ds-160 and gathering documents :)) Once it gets shipped to Japan itll take about a week to get your packet! There are very few Dec and Jan interview slots last time I checked so yoh might want to schedule one soon as you can. Here’s hoping yours gets shipped next week! 🤞🏽🤞🏽
I’ll do it tomorrow! Thank you!

Actually just focus on this. Your case was created right before a shipping day so that means it will ship either 23rd/24th of November or in a couple weeks (the 7th/8th of December). NVC only ships every other week and both of our embassy cases were created the week of shipping, so they are both going to ship to their respective countries either next week or the 2nd week in december. Hang in there!
Oh i thought the embassy in my country had to request NVC to ship my packages! Seemed like everyone in other forum was complaining how backlogged their embassies are. Fingers crossed ours will be shipped next week🤞🏻 And thank you again for your help! Made me feel so much better

Yeah to answer your first question, consistently it looks like anywhere from a few weeks to 1 month. I would examine your Tokyo case # and decode it. The first 3 letters are the name of the city the embassy is in, the next 4 numbers are the year the NVC created the case, the 3 numbers following are the julian month/day the case was created - 500 and the final 3 numbers are what actual number it was assigned that day, EX mine was in KEV2021813XXX. I blocked out the last 3 because those are ones you cannot figure out from my timeline. My case was created in year 2021, day 813-500 = 313 julian month/day (I googled the 2021 julian calendar and found out the exact day) and then the 3 X's are my assembly line number. So my case was created on 09 NOV 2021. That might shed more light on when it is sent if it is already past the 1 month of waiting.
Here is the julian calendar:
Thank you for the information! I decoded my case number and it was 312 which means my case was received by NVC on November 8th, if I understood your explanation correctly. I will check the regional forums too!

For some reason our case must’ve been left out🥲

Hi. Where can I see how backlogged the embassy is in my country? We received the NOA2 on October 5 and got the case number by calling on November 12 and the rep told me they were just waiting for the embassy in Tokyo to be ready. The status is still "At NVC" today so I am getting a bit anxious...

two ways of looking at how this week went by, I have separated based on WAC#s (500 groups) and by date as well. January only
This was a short week and I doubt they will work tomorrow (9/11)
Congrats to all the ones who got their NOA2 and even if you got an RFE thats better than not getting anything especially after 8 months
I will update this again next week
Thanks you for doing this even after receiving your NOA2!!

Your NOA-1 should be the "received date" not the notice date. The "RECIEVED DATE" was also on my I-797 APPROVAL NOTICE. Just so you know USCIS goes by the "received date" and not the notice date. You can edit your timeline to Jan 28 for NOA-1.
Thank you so much! I’m super relieved!!

Thank you for your kind comment. I usually use magic 🎩
On a serious note, when I filed petition for my Fiance back in January I stumbled here on Visa Journey and a lot of the senior members had a system similar to this going in many threads, September, October etc.
So I started compiling data from the case tracker app and typed almost 18000 wac numbers and then separated them based on what they were then created this chart based on what works for me easiest, rest is all excel. It's time consuming, but helps me deal with the anxiety of waiting 😅.
I am hoping our file number comes soon, we are NOA1 on 26th Jan, so if you like my chart send us lots of prayers 🙏 ❤
Thanks
Our documents were received on Jan 28th but didn’t get NOA1 till March 13th.
Did you receive NOA1 within a week of sending the documents (on your profile timeline)? Or did you put the received date? Also, can you please specify which date the NOA1column on your chart mean (Received date? Notice date?)
Either way I hope the wait is gonna be over soon for everyone in the same circumstance😌Thank you!

Remote work income while waiting EAD (split)
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted
Where did people on this thread get the clear answer you CANNOT work remotely for a foreign company while waiting for EAD? The information I could find were never definite but gray.
BC97
the agent interviewed him/her said working remotely for a foreign company is not considered working in the US
This law firm thinks it is ok to work remotely for a foreign company while waiting for EAD.
Are those information completely false?
