    Quick question:

Does the personal check have to be in the petitioners name?! My mom was going to write out the check for me since I don’t have a check book but I don’t know if this is allowed? I can not see anywhere that it is isn’t but I was wondering is anyone had any issues with this?

Does the I-129f application allow money orders in the amount of $535.00? I tried at my local supermarket but they only give money orders out up to $500.

I went to uscis.gov and reviewed the instructions. It doesn't say a whole lot about how to fill out a money order.

    many thanks!!!!!

If you have a checking account you should see if your bank can send you a cashier check or go to a branch and get one in person.

  2. Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has any insight or can point me in the correct direction. Does anyone know if the Cape Town embassy are processing interviews for the K1 visa? I am a US citizen and my fiance South African are in the middle of the K1 process. We are awaiting our approval and I have been wondering with the states ban on travel from SA and select countries will the embassy still honor are application. I would love to hear from anyone who has either gone through a recent interview or anyone with any insight. Thank you in advance

    Hey All,

We sent of our 1-129F packet on the 26th of December 2020 and it was Received by the USCIS on the 28th of December 2020 (this was specified in the receipt notice), we only received the receipt notice on the 5th of march 2021 I'm assuming because they were backlogged with covid etc.

My question is, does the 5-7 month processing time for the NOA2 start from when uscis received the packet the 28th of December or when they issued the receipt the 5th of march.

Our packet was sent to the California Processing Center

    Thanks

Your time starts on the 28th. Once you receive your NOA1 or if you have your receipt number it will state the date on there.

I sent my package on 12/07/2020 and it was received in the lockbox on 12/09/2020. I haven't heard anything back. My check have not been cashed . I emailed the lockbox support but they only replied with generate email( due to Covid delay) . I called but only reach robot or get cutoff without a case#. I am not sure what else to do. Any suggestion?

The best thing you can do is wait and have patience. If you look at some of the  request they process it's all over the place they are even doing some from November still. I was in your position not too long ago I would just give it a bit more.

I've been researching the K1 process a lot recently as I want to petition for my fiancé very soon. I meet basic requirements; a U.S. Citizen, not married, met each other, no criminal history.... And I'm not worried too much about income but rather how I will present in the petition. I haven't filed income tax for the past two years because I didn't work, I was a full time nursing student and completing externship. I've completed my schooling (no debt) and was recently hired at a hospital few weeks ago. That being said, I've very recently started to have income again that's projected around $55k to $60k annual earning. I'm a bit confused about how to present this. I have a comfortable amount in my checking and savings, will that suffice for financial requirement?

On another quick note, I intend to submit my I-129F form soon. I've read the checklist on VJ but I'm asking for reassurance; In regards to evidence of meeting each other such as boarding passes, hotel receipts, photos together, messenger conversations, are these to be included in the I-129F envelope or after I received the NOA2?  Thanks

During the K1 process I do not believe that is going to be a huge concern because there aren't many questions pertaining to your finances. The only question that comes to mine is you agreeing to be financially responsible for your beneficiary. The finances will become a bigger question once they are in the states and you apply for I-485 AOS (adjust of status) and complete the I-864 (Affidavit of Support) and by that time you should be good based off of what you stated. Just my thoughts on the matter.

Great news! USCIS charged our credit card yesterday (2/14) which is strange because it's a Sunday on a long weekend - but we're not complaining! They received our application on 12/15, we haven't received our NOA1 but it won't be too long now! Hang in there folks, it's been a long wait but things are finally speeding up :D

Oh wow congrats! Hopefully my file is up soon.

Im not sure Im searching correctly, but I couldn't find anything on my topic so I think 'I might have started one...but  Im a December filter...and we are using credit card for the application payment.  That card has been replaced by the bank.  I don't know what to do!!?? when they try to process payment it will be denied.  I don't want to start over!!!

I'm pretty sure you might be in the wrong thread because you can not use credit card payment for I-129F if I'm not mistaken.
