  1. I haven't been able to update for a while, but I had my interview at the Jacksonville office last week and right after my interview they gave me my oath letter for next week. I applied with the 5 year rule and only needed to show my passport and green card. I brought my taxes with me and my marriage license etc but my IO did not want to see any of it. Pretty much the same experience as @babyduck -- my case was pretty straightforward anyhow. Good luck to everyone else waiting!!

  2. Hi all,

while this is not a measurable update in terms of what can be put into the table, it is an official response to an inquiry I made on Monday in writing (still, just boiler plate). On Monday i sent an inquiry via secure email asking whether the weekend news (Rep. Goodlatte's inquiry) had any effect on my case and if they would be able to give me a status update, for example whether I am through the background check and so on; here is the answer I received:

"Your application information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for interviews at their local Field Office. Interview appointments are scheduled as slots become available at the Field Office. [...]"

Based on the language used (and yes it is a standard response) I am "in line for an interview" -- so great news :)

That is the same stock answer I got two weeks ago when I asked about my being scheduled for an interview for over a month and never receiving anything in the mail. I don't think they can really divulge any real news via the website.

  3. I got my LPR status based on same-sex marriage, and I'm applying for citizenship for the same reason. With the anti-LGBT platform of Trump's presidency looming around the corner, marriage equality along with its related rights may be changed, but I understand it's likely to stay intact for a while knowing how American legislature works, and I doubt USCIS could take back benefits already granted just because of a change of laws.

My second reason is that I simply don't want to see Trump's welcome video at the ceremony. We have to show our tax returns to qualify, so it's kinda insulting to have us welcomed by a president that has openly bragged about not paying taxes.

I know my reasons are unconventional, but I have to try.

I had friends who decided to get married two weeks ago for the exact same reason. They are quite worried that things will change so they wanted to go ahead and get married before they no longer were able to do so. You are not alone in feeling that way but I doubt USCIS will expedite. Fingers crossed it happens soon!

  4. I heard that a lot of y'all got a false alarm "Interview Scheduled" and that it was decided that this was a the "In Line" for IOE applicants. I did not receive that notification, but towards the end of October called a L2 and found out I was In Line myself (also got that "Application information has been entered..." thing from the inquiry.) My priority date is 8/08 and my local field office is Chicago.

I know that another user on another forum has posted that he called an L2 and was told he was in line, but called again recently and was told he was still under review and also has NOT received the false alarm. His priority date was 7/24.

My question is: Have any of you NOT received this false alarm, like I myself have not? Did you guys confirm you were In Line by other means? What are your PO and field offices?

I am an IOE filer and my PD is 8/26, did my Biometrics on 9/6 and I received that status update (scheduled for an interview and will receive letter in the mail) on 11/01. I've been waiting and have not received anything in the mail so I am going to go ahead and make an inquiry and let you know what the information I receive today says about my status. My FO is Jacksonville.

  5. that is interesting! I did not receive a second NOA. The only letter I received after the NOA was the biometrics appointment letter. As for my form-I am not sure which one I filled (got it from the incompetent attorney) however I checked now and on the top right it says

    "USCIS

    Form N-400
    OMB No. 1615-xxxxx
    Expires 03/31/2019"
I assume that is the new form? and since I am an IOE case it is probably because of the new form as well...

I hope you aren't paying this attorney because you are doing more work than they are! I hope you get it all figured out and like you mentioned, the online account hasn't been as helpful for many of us. Mine hasn't updated since August.

  6. If I remember it correctly, then this status has been on my account since I logged in for the first time in August, I think it's their standard message, sorry!

Yes, as soon as my N-400 was received by them, that was my message. It stayed that way even after my biometrics. It only recently changed to Interview Scheduled on November 1st. Haven't received a letter yet so I am assuming it only means I am inline for an interview in the new few months.

  7. It would be January -- he only needs to get 6 correct so if he makes one mistake due to a government change over, he will be fine! I'm going through the same process and probably wont have my interview until January, either. I'm trying make sure I have all the history ones down so if I get one of the new ones wrong, I'll be ok! Like in the booklet they gave me, the answer for supreme court justices can vary and obviously now it is 8.

  8. This is wierd, my case status when I checked on this site...

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do <---- says biometrics scheduled still.

But when I logged in my account at ...

https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov <---- the status message says, USCIS has scheduled your appointment interview and will mail you the appointment notice.

I did not get any email nor know when this message changed. It's weird.

Did anyone have the same experience as mine?

    I'm IOE at Honolulu office.

I'm hoping this means my interview is coming. What do you think guys?

    Cheers!

    Hi there!

I'm over in the August filers and we just had the same thing happen to us this week. Out of nowhere, our status changed to that one with no notice. Only on the myaccount website. I'm hoping that means they will start clearing the backlog of IOE cases. Good luck!

  9. That did it. Thank you, Lenchick!

It says (have not received any mail):

    Interview Scheduled

USCIS has scheduled your interview appointment and will mail you the appointment notice.

Nevyna, did it say the same thing for you?

That is exactly what mine says! I haven't received anything yet either.. I'm sure it will be a while coming, but it's nice to know I'm not stuck in biometrics limbo anymore.

  10. Hi guys!

I just logged online to check my account because I hadn't in a while and it has updated to Interview Scheduled. It does not have the interview letter but it says it has been scheduled and mailed to me. I am an IOE filer, so this gives me hope for everyone!! I did not receive a text or email update and my case status check thingie where you simply enter your number as opposed to login still says Biometric appointment was scheduled. It has not updated.

  11. If you've had chickenpox as a child you do not need the varicella vaccine. You can get a titre test at your doctor that proves you have the antibodies already in your system. Don't worry about boosters. You will have to pay for things that aren't required most likely -- I had to pay for my titre test as my doctor didn't see the need for it other than my US immigration. Your dr. might be different. I'd rather pay for the blood test than get vaccines I didn't need. If you haven't had chickenpox -- then my advice is not helpful ;)

  12. Hi there!

Naturalization is the easiest to file compared to everything else we have done so far! You only need to include these things in the packet (taken right from the instructions):

    1. Photographs. Provide two identical color photographs of yourself taken recently. The photos must have a white to off-white background, be printed on thin paper with a glossy finish, and be unmounted and unretouched. Passportstyle photos must be 2” x 2”. The photos must be in color with full face, frontal view on a white to off-white background. Head height should measure 1” to 1 3/8” from top of hair to bottom of chin, and eye height is between 1 1/8” to 1 3/8” from bottom of photo. Your head must be bare, unless contrary to your religious beliefs. Using a pencil or felt pen, lightly print your name and A-Number (if any) on the back of the photo.

    2. Photocopy of Permanent Resident Card. Provide a photocopy of the front and back of your Form I-551 (Permanent Resident Card). USCIS must be able to read the information on the photocopy. If you have lost your Form I-551, attach a photocopy of any other entry document or a photocopy of a receipt showing that you have filed Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card.

    3. Photocopy of your Current Legal Marital Status Document. Provide a photocopy of your current marriage certificate, divorce, annulment decree, or death certificate of former spouse

The checklist also states to submit taxes, birth certificates of children etc which is NOT on the n-400 instruction form (confusing!) if you are filing under the 3 year rule.

Everything else, like photos and extra evidence, you BRING to your interview. It should be a nice small envelope, not a giant thick one like for K1 and ROC. Good luck!

  13. Hello August filers,

I received my NOA that my application was received on Sept. 7. I still have had no further notice regarding a biometrics date. I am in Florida, through the texas lockbox. It appears to me people are getting notice of a fingerprinting date quite soon after their NOA. What is everyone getting? Do some people not get the biometrics appointment at all? I am filing as married and over 3 years. Thank you!

    Hi there!

    What field office in Florida?

I received my fingerprint notification about a week or so after my CC was charged. I am also in Florida. I've had my FP done and no change has happened since then. It seems I'm in for a long wait now. Can you log in to your online account? I saw the biometrics notification there a few days before I received the paper notice.Good luck!

  14. To the OP -- my husbands BC does not have a dad listed for the exact same reason you don't have one. We don't even know what his name is to get it corrected if we wanted. Anyhow, I now have my GC and everything worked out for us. He was the USC but I don't think it should matter that much.
